Who are you guys going to see? I'm going with three of my mates, two are xanderharrisisgod and bex4cedirc ... We're queuing up for Robert Patterson [Cedric], dude who plays Neville and the Ian Something-or-other, the dude who plays Boone from Lost... I'm wondering about whether to go and see Ray Park, the dude who plays that AWESOME Darth Maul in Star Wars 1: The Phantom Menace... The guy with the red and black face... Awesome... But I'm a tad skint so *shrug* I'll just have to look on in awe...

I'm going for all the Potter people, and the people from Narnia, and the Anime voice overs and the guys from Red Dwarf -that show rocked! Though i doubt i can get all their autographs. Money wise, i'm pretty much stuck.
And how can you forget "Neville Guys" name? *gets into a strop.* It's Matthew Lewis! The poor guy, lol, everyone always forgets him. Me and my friends were going to make t-shirts with the words:
"Oh my god, i've killed Harry Potter"
Written across them, but we decided against it. If you've seen GoF you should know what i'm on about.
I'd really like to see some more Narnia though!

I've dumped myself on family, so wherever you all go, i don't really mind. Not too far of course, but i'll proabably end up following the crowd anyway, me and three others.

I'm pretty sure there's no bowling places in the city centre so that's out.
I'm with David, it's probably easier to just hang around the hotel bar or find a bar close by. Since I'm guessing it's gonna be a lot of peoples' first time in Manchester then we wouldn't want anyone getting too lost!
And I can pretty much guarantee Manchester will be freezing

I'm coming the saturday morning. It's cutting it short but train times were being asses to me. Are you planing on doing something before or after? I met some lady on the train going up on the weekend just gone, and she gave me a list of places me and friends could go to afterwards. Dunno where anything is. I think she felt sorry for me, i swear i had "Nerd" written all over my face.
Oh well.
and just how big is this hotel bar? is it big enough to house 100000people????I was thinking that too. lol.

I'm 16 and a Harry Potter fanatic. Nerd, Geek, Neek, Dork, Freak, Loser, Weirdo -the list goes on- call me whatever, but one day we'll rule the world -MWAHAHA.
Anyways.
I'm from London UK where it's busy and ugly and smelly sometimes, but i love it nonetheless. I haven't submitted any fan fictions becuase i'm too much of a perfectionist and will probably end up killing myself over getting everything right. I like my life, so i wont do that just yet.
G-Mex will me my first convention! Yes people, Rochelle -full name- is an amateur! We all have to be at some stage. I'm pretty exicted about the event, but i guess i've waited for so long that i get bored of being excited. Does that make sense? Anywho, i'll get excited again nearer the time.
My favourite movie of all time would have to be the Goonies -am i the only one who see's the Marauders in those guys?

I'm sorry if no one has a clue what i'm talking about, but it makes sense in my head.
My favourite band are the Foo Fighters, though that'll probably change soon enough. I also like, Feeder and the Goo Goo Dolls and Bowling For Soup and Green Day and all that sort of lot.
So yeah, i like Harry Potter but Narnia's always been number one for me. If JK had written those books 50years ago so that when i was 7 i could have fallen in love with HP then, it would have been the other way around, but Narnia got there first. I think they did a great job with the film.
Anyway, i'm rambling, so bye!

I'd like a forum meet, becuase i'm constantly being bugged by friends about the "What are we going to do afterwards?"
It's a cool idea, an even though i'm in Manchester alot, i don't know the place well.

And to add to all this, i think people are jealous or whatever of Katie Leung becuase of the character she plays. She's not exactly the most loved in the books, actually, even i thought she was pretty annoying. Leung did a better job, and i'll be happy to meet her. Just never want to hear about the book character again. Ever.

I went to this today. Waited in line for about six hours, then waited for my friends to come out with the news. Apparently, once you are inside the hall they call you in groups of 50. Once in a set group, all 50 stand infront of the judges and say: "Hello, my name is INSERT NAME and i come from INSERT LOCATION." Then in a flash, about two or three people are selected from the group of 50, and the rest are told "Goodbye."
If you're selected, you're taken to a seperate room and have your picture taken, then you're told you get a phone call. None of my friends got it, but it's about the experience. I wish all on this forum: GOOD LUCK.

I know a bunch who are going for this. I'm going along simply to spectate. lol. I don't fit the part, but i reckon that if anyone wants to do it then they should! You never know right? Good luck whoever wants it, this is a taugh one. They were donw to the last five hopefuls for Luna just the other day, but none of them were chosen!

I would have loved to have gotten, but i don't think it's wise for me to buy one. That'd proabably be all my money gone, and i desperately need it seen as i'm going to be there all weekend. It is a bit expensive, but i guess if you want one and can afford it, you should go for it.

The pics were so cool! The person doing this has to be A. Brave and B. Passionate. I'm neither when it comes to doing things like this infront of an audience, so i'll just sit back and watch. Though you never know. . .

No way! lol. Getting caught is no good! Only be weird around people who wont report you and get you locked up! Horrible results. *sniggers* So basically, only be weird at one of these conventions, and behind closed doors.
When i announced that i was going to g-mex, the first reply i got back was from my mother in very sarcastic tones: "Where did i go wrong?" It made me laugh though. Others were: "God, you're turing into a right old geek!" and "Eww, don't weird people go to those things?"
My friends got similar replys, but since, my lessons be learnt. From then on i kept my mouth shut!
