Did anyone knows if there will be a closing ceremony? And if yes when take it place and how long? I am the first time on a Star Trek Convention and I have to buy my train tickets.
Thanks folks.
There wasn't one at the London event and there's no mention of one on the website so I would assume not.

There is already a thread asking about sports guests. It would be best if everything was kept in that one. http://showmastersonline.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=83258

Yes, it will be

A lot of the guests will be doing talks, there will be dealer tables and various displays. I would think a full talk schedule will be published nearer the time.

Seconded, would particularly like to see Mark Addy at an event

This will be my 1st crewing this year, is there anything that I should and shouldn't bring like food or drink, what should I wear (I mean trousers) and footwear.
I am looking forward but a bit nervous too.
Bring... enthusiasm. You don't have to bring food or drink. You'll get a crew handbook that gives you a good overview once you've been selected.
What should you wear... comfortable shoes. I learned that the hard way. There's no special guidelines with trousers. Show up with a decent pair of trousers that are not ripped in the wrong places and you'll be fine. Or if you prefer skirts that's not an issue either.
I normally wear jeans, combat trousers or cargo pants. The main thing is that you are comfortable.

Media 10 have said that all guests have been announced now so it would be surprising if any more were announced.
Some of the actors may walk around while they are on a break but stopping them and asking for a free photograph or autograph is not allowed. Autographs are only done at the signing area. You may be able to get a free photo when you buy an autograph but this is not guaranteed. Otherwise you will have to pay for a professional one.
-
I think the paid for talks normally last for about 45 minutes as opposed to the 30 minutes for free talks.

Shown on the website as £25 for an autograph and £20 for a photo shoot

There is already a thread for guest suggestions for this event. It is best that all suggestions are put in there as it keeps them all in one place.

They can be announced any time up to the event. It all depends on when contracts have been agreed and signed.

Awesome :) are these tickets going to be on a separate slot or can be just go to the other time slot if we wanted to?
They will be on a separate slot. As with all big guests, it will be the lower numbered tickets (usually 1-400) that will go to the earlier time slot and 401 onwards will be the later slot.

Fantastic news I think in will buy another photo shoot as it will be my last chance of meeting him in the uk, just one question is the early bird entry tickets limited ? I really need to know because I don't want to miss out. Thanks
No, the early bird tickets are not limited but you would be best to buy in advance as you will get in quicker with a pre-booked ticket.

It will be quieter than Saturday and Sunday but will still be busy. Most, if not all, of the dealers should be there and open for business.
Three photo shoots and three autographs is easily doable in the time available but recommend that you buy all your photo shoots in advance as the queues at the sales desk at the event are likely to be very long.
Also, if you want to see any of the big name guests on Friday, getting there early and prebooking your entry ticket will get you in quicker and allow you to get lower number VQ tickets.

They can be sent out any time after the order has been processed. There is no set time scale but they are all sent out in plenty of time to reach you before the event.

At the last Destination Star Trek there were no free photos provided but there were stalls selling them. I assume it will be the same this time.

There was a Musicmania many moons ago. Not the most successful event from what I remember

There used to be a very detailed set of FAQs on the forum covering most general elements if the event but not sure if they still exist or not, not sure if one of the mods may know where they are nowadays.
Not a mod but I do know where they are. http://showmastersonline.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=74405&hl=faqs

I think most of it has been covered so I only have a couple of things to add.
First, buy your entry tickets in advance. The same applies to any photo shoot tickets you want. It'll cut down the amount of time you'll spend queuing considerably. The link to the online shop is here: http://www.btowstore.com/epages/Store2_Shop1309.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/Store2.Shop1309/Categories/LFCC2014
Second, there will be a schedule of talks and photo shoots published on here a week to 10 days before the event. That will help you to plan your day or days. If possible, print off a copy to take with you. There will be copies up around the venue but if you have your own copy it makes things a bit easier.

Details of what you get are here: http://www.btowstore.com/epages/Store2_Shop1309.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/Store2.Shop1309/Products/LFCC14goldpass
You do get a gold bracelet to identify you as a gold pass holder. If a single one will not it you, you may be given two that will be joined together (I'm sure somebody will correct me on this point if that is not right).

Three photo shoots is easily doable. If you find that you do have clashes though, go to the one with the earliest start time first and let the crew in that area know that you have another one to get to. If you have two starting at the same time, go to the one with the shortest time slot first and let the crew in that area know that you have another one to get to. They will then do their best to make sure you get to the other one on time.
