  1. Completely agree. Roadhouse was one of the best events i've attended. Was so gutted when they cancelled RH2. I hope it makes a return at somepoint, even if it's paired with something else

Roadhouse 2 was the event I was looking forward to this year after such a fabulous first event. Would love Massive to bring more supernatural guests combined with other fandoms at something in the future.

  2. Hope a couple of Scapers will be welcome among you

[Of course they will be ;) We're friendly bunch...some of us are at least

It's been a long long time since I watched Farscape so I'm currently ploughing through the whole show again before the 4th November. One season down, 66 more episodes and Peacekeeper Wars to go !

  3. The number for the hotel isn't working Edit: It's working now and the hotel is fully booked

Does anyone know any alternative hotels?

Next nearest hotel (literally across the main road) is the Ibis http://www.ibishotel.com/gb/hotel-3657-ibi...tre/index.shtml

Just be aware there would be parking charges if you are driving at the Ibis and breakfast is optional at an additional cost. Although there's a Wetherspoons and O'Neils nearby for food.

  4. is this going to cause massive traffic chaos for those driving up from the south to stay in Glasgow city Centre?

We are staying in the City Centre at a hotel near the Botanical Gardens?

You will be fine there mate. The Botanical Gardens are no where near George Square and it is only effecting traffic in the immediate area. All will be well for your trip. I think the shoot in George Square will be complete by the con anyway.

Hope you have a safe journey. :(

There is a list of which roads are affected, whilst people can discuss this film here, I've posted a separate thread for people so they easily see the road information :)

As I'm not from the area, I don't know if any of the road closures listed during Brad Pitt's filming in Glasgow will affect anyone using hotels and travelling.

    "Road closures

The following streets around the City Chambers and George Square will be closed to motorists; Cochrane Street; South Frederick Street; Hanover Street; George Square (north side of the Square from North Hanover Street, east and south side); North Frederick Street (from George Square to Martha Street); George Street (from George Square to John Street); and North Hanover Street from the junction with George Square.

Motorists will get access to Queen Street Station for south and northbound traffic. North Hanover Street southbound traffic is closed from Queen Street Station onwards. Access northbound from George Square is unaffected except Sundays 21 and 28 August when George Square will be closed.

    Pedestrian restrictions

Pedestrians will have access to all routes throughout filming although they may be asked to stop by security marshalls for a very short time when cameras are rolling.

Further details will be available at www.glasgow.gov.uk / www.glasgowfilm.com "

  6. Is there any other hotels nearby which can be recommended if i can't get into the Park Inn, was wondering if anyone knew what the Hilton was like.................thanks

There's an Ibis literally across the road, but it's worth bearing in mind that if you are driving they charge carparking whereas the Park Inn don't. Also they charge for breakfast. Means a cheap room can add up a bit so total it all up :)

Hopefully you'll have got into the Park Inn by now :)

Didn't post this in the Glasgow Collectormania thread but was posting it here as I'm not sure what hotel you use for the show (whether you stay in Glasgow or Braehead) or how crew are travelling to and from the area.

  8. my one big criticism is that the music at the parties were pretty rubbish, cmon bloody cheesy 80's crap at Fangtasia??? yeah have requests to keep the masses happy but limit it to a certain time or just to the faery night. But Fangtasia is a gothic club and Lou Pines a bikers club, I can't really see how the music fitted.

I didn't make it to Lou Pines as I had to leave Sunday, as a few others said, it would have been nice to have Lou Pines as more of a main party on Friday night :)

Have to agree though with Fangtasia. Was great to have some rawer music for the pole dancers at the beginning of the night but once people were ready to dance to it and despite trying to request some more of it later in the evening it never returned. Thinking back they didn't even play the Blade theme that was written on the request board. I appreciate a lot of different music and 80s cheese is great but when people are vamped up it would be nice to have something gritter later in the evening at the Fangtasia nights.

Took 24 hours for us to get some of the "dirty whore" music we requested on the Friday night. Filled the floor though  I'm not sure if the dj simply didn't want to play requests on Friday or if they'd had too many.

  9. However, I think the guys need to think of some more activities for people to do between breakfast and the afternoon talks on Sunday. Because most have checked out of their room, there is very little to do and lots of people were just sat around looking a bit bored.

Empty Sunday mornings when they happen are great personal time moments. I intended going shopping, but it ended as an opportunity to lay-in from late nights and have a last minute breakfast, generally slow down a bit, get a ticket booked for next year, buy raffle tickets for the encounters. By the time I'd done all that it was 11.30 am and I thought I had ages until the hall opened. Before I knew it those hours had flown and the doors were open for the main hall. Flown by so much that I didn't realise TooTall had called our seating slot  How I missed his voice from the dealers room I'm not sure

The issue would be that there are no more rooms available for use other than the main hall/dealers room area and the foyer between which is used for queuing. Plus factoring in that if there's more guests and people next year that statistically more attendees might have their photos/autos to get on Sunday instead of Saturday and things will be more evenly spread.

There's a Vue cinema on the opposite side of the road but obviously that depends on timings.

Not sure if it's your thing, but a few of us suggested to the salon that Sunday morning could have been the ideal opportunity for attendees to have made appointments. They opened for some of us last year on the Sunday and the massages were fabulous.

There's also the hotel pool to take advantage of :)

  10. Has anyone had their Tickets through the post yet? xxxxxxx

I read on the terms and conditions that the registration package gets sent out to you, you then have to fill that out and hand it in at reception to get your ticket, the packages are usually sent out 2 weeks before I believe..

Hi :) The registration tickets will be posted. If you have changed address since booking please see this thread today from Yvie http://showmastersonline.com/forums/index....showtopic=70043

At the registration desk on arrival you will swap the reg ticket for your convention pack where you are given a numbered badge to wear :) This then becomes your ID for autographs and entering the event over the weekend.

I can come now! :D Yaaaay! Probably just Sat evening and Sun but very excited.

Now I need to find something to wear to the Fangtasia and Lou Pines parties... Any thoughts? I was thinking something gothic Sat and something biker chick on Sun.

    Sounds perfect :)

Unfortunately I'm leaving Sunday night, so I'll be foregoing biker chickness even though I could have rustled up something from my wardrobe for that. I won't be dressing up on Friday, but last year's Fangtasia had some fabulous outfits. The pole dancers were a marvellous act too :)

  11. So i'm hopefully going to get a silver ticket thursday night, and get a room at the ibis, first time at a convention EVER so I need tips on what to and what not to bring.

Hi FB, I've checked out the rates for the IBIS and they are currently showing £47 to 51 a night (depending on 2 or 3 nights). Ibis breakfast is £7.50 a day and parking is £5.50

If you can stretch yourself to paying the £68 a room in the Park Inn this includes breakfast and parking free. It's especially convenient being in the same hotel to drop autos back to your room, restock on snacks and particularly if you decide to dress up for parties in the evening.

Unless you prefer a room to yourself, it's worth checking to see if there is anyone on the forum still in need of a room mate for the event as this could cut your costs to £34 a night.

I echo Arcane's recommendations of a folder or plastic lock case for your autos and photos for during the morning and storing them in your room. A bag during the day for keeping a bottle of water handy, especially if you get a tickly cough during the talks :)

It's always useful to have a pair of trainers for during the day or something you find comfy on your feet. The Park is thankfully one of the smaller hotels so it's less of a strain but there'll still be small queues for the photos and autos. The queues will be well managed though in batches.

There are plenty of food outlets nearby to the Park as you are in the town centre. There's anything from Weatherspoons to Chinese all you can eat. Places to grab chocolate and sandwiches from so you shouldn't need to completely weigh your suitcase down with snacks.

Money is a useful tool to bring :D Generally there are coffee lounge opportunities where you can bid to chat to them in a room of 10-12 people for about 45 mins (although Massive usually have a credit card option for this too). There will be a dealers room for if you want to buy any additional photos or merch for signings. Similarly if you want to buy any extra autos.

If you need any help at the event, always stop a crew member and ask :) Also most attendees won't bite and can help out too :D Enjoy

  12. I mentioned this very problem in another thread so won't retell it all here, except to say that you definitely have a point.

Showmasters need to completley rethink the way they do photos, i had to leave at 5.30pm to get my train and therefore did'nt manage to get my Robert Knepper or Corey Feldman photos. I have left my details for them to be posted but am worried that these will end up lost, they also said it could be 5 weeks before i receive them.In the meantime they have probably been sitting on the table today getting all sort of fingerprints on them. :D

Same for me. I left without my Christopher Lambert photo. I'm worried that i may not receive it, how long it gets left on the table while other prople maul it, what condition is it gonna arrive in, if it's even me in the photo and then the 4 to 5 weeks delivery time. £30 i paid for that photo so it better arrive in good nick !!! :D

The last batches of photos tonight including Robert and Corey were not on the tables for long at all and were packed away carefully from the event tonight individually per guest to help with the identification process that will follow. I'm sure the crew in charge of distribution will keep you informed as soon as possible, but please do be aware that Sportsmania is next weekend.
  13. TooTall, if for any reason you do find anyone needing to pull out now or closer to the show that can give you notice, I would be able to crew as I can change my own plans. If you need any extra hands let me know as I could have at least one brother on standby too :)

  14. it's the twilight logo one I hate... especially when you're meeting guests for their work outside of Twilight! :(

Oh I saw that one on the old group shots for sale. I like Peter Facinelli in Fastlane and Nurse Jackie and can imagine it being off-putting for non-twilight fans. I'm sure people go to events they don't necessarily like the shows for to see specific guests they think they'll miss the opportunity for otherwise :)

  15. Yep I was next in line at that point. It was so funny and the innuendo over Tony head's apple which fell on the floor at the same time. Just had everyone in stitches. Had a great time.

Brilliant! Shame I couldn't hear from the other desk at that point  The wookie did try returning later with a maiden on his arm acquired from Tony's queue though :D
  16. Did Alli Dick show up? I gave up waiting, since I'd met him at a Junior Spurs Christmas Party in 1986!

I left at 11:45 so can't say. Judging by other people's photos, I doubt it.

I was with one of the other guests and Ally was the only one that wasn't there.
