  1. As taken from the website, a reminder of how the talks operate.  No tickets are required, please go straight to the talk area prior to the talk.  The talk crew can answer any questions you have in that area.

    FREE GUEST TALKS

We have a large number of free guest talks running throughout the weekend. Although these are free, seating is limited, seating is issued on a first come first served basis. Gold Pass Holders will be given priority access to the talk hall in order to take advantage of their priority seating, however once the talk has started you will be expected to take the closest available seat with no priority given. Free Talks are approx 25 minutes long, with 5 minute gaps to change over audiences. We would ask that you keep the exit clear to allow other fans to enter and exit the talk area as quickly and easily as possible. Audiences will be asked to leave the seated area after each talk finishes, even if they have tickets for the next talk. We would ask that you limit flash photography to the first few minutes of the talk - photographs taken without flash are permitted throughout. We’re afraid that videoing and sound recordings are not allowed.

As its less then a week to go  Will there be a layout, map or plan to let us know where things are. Like guests, game area, photo shoots and most important. The toilets

    Thank you

Generally since the event has began the guests signing tables and the dealers have been on the ground floor.  Then photographs and gaming are on the first floor, with talks and cosplay on the second floor.  There are lifts in two of the corners (on the left hand side as you enter the hall) that can be used.

I trust this helps.  But anything different on the day will be signposted.

  5. The Prisoner of Azkaban green-screen-is that the same or similar to the Harry Potter green screen you did at LFCC a couple of years ago, or is this different compared to that 1? I also imagine it'll b £5 or £10?

    Edited to not sound rhetorical.

The image should be similar to this - with you holding the sign and everything else printed out around you.

It was first done at Newcastle last year and Sam Coleman from Game of Thrones had 2 shots taken.

He made a video edit out of them here https://www.instagram.com/p/BNF3jg_DrBK/?taken-by=samcolemanactor&hl=en

  6. Hi I have an early bird ticket for Saturday I won't be able to get there till 930 what door do I go through please ---------- I am also injured and will have a cane to help with walking is this okay?

Hi there, you will find the queues for pre-paid tickets versus buying on the day are usually labelled clearly when you arrive at the show.

If in any doubt ask the crew members who will be wearing blue or red tshirts with showmasters printed on.

Having a cane is obviously absolutely fine. I usually have my own walking stick but I'm not crewing the show this year. There is a ramp at the front if you need to use it. There are also 2 sets of lifts in the top left and bottom left as you stand looking into the hall. These will help you get to any of the floors you need to access through the show.

You don't say what your injury is, but if you are struggling do mention it if you need a seat to queue for photos etc.

  7. Well I'm going to have autograph from sean might have one from Ian..definitely going for the free talk with hellraiser guests as I'm a huge hellraiser fan..and it would be awesome to hear them speak about their work in person rather or aswell as on YouTube etc..I've saved up quite abit so I'm going to be like a kid in a sweet shop lol..

Sean was absolutely lovely in Sheffield. You'll have a great time meeting him

At that show he did a Hellraiser talk with Claire. Do make sure you think of some questions to ask as that makes the talk a more personal experience to you and may also be things that others are too shy to participate in.

  8.

yes dstl have the record but nice to break it again in the 50th year.

break this The largest gathering of people dressed as Star Trek characters is 1,063 and was achieved by Media 10 Ltd (UK) at ExCel London, London, UK, on 20 October 2012...

I remember at the first one in 2012 when we broke the record, but it has been attempted since and we didn't beat it.

I remember it too as I was crewing both years. Even I wouldn't mind properly participating in costume this time around. I haven't quite got the legs but tights were made for that ;)

  9. Photo shoots and talks are usually upstairs (the Speeder shoot might be in the foyer - the prop shoots tend to be there) - the Showmasters team can point you in the right direction. The team's usually located opposite the guest tables towards the front of the hall, facing inwards. There are generally signs up, and you can access the upper floors via stairs and lifts from each of the four corners of the main arena.

Each show so far the guest photoshoots have been on floor 1 plus there has been a gaming area (I've not read if that's here this time)

Floor 2 have been the guest talks and cosplay/talks/masquerade.

The personnel that are sat on chairs on each level are venue staff/security. Showmasters crew are usually in blue or red crew shirts. There are usually posters on both stairwells indicating what is on each level.

  10. Make sure you access through Cannon Place and there are lifts there. I can't comment how big they are in comparison to the wheelchair but we had 8 people in there tonight. There was sufficient space coming out onto the photo level and on the signing level.

I use a walking stick and tend to be very aware of disabled space but it's hard to comment until there's people in tomorrow.

Ask us if you have any questions.

  11. Please note that everyone needs to access the venue via the side doors off Cannon Place.

I can confirm there are lifts in this area leading up to the two floors being used and a further set of lifts between the two floors once inside.

I have also seen disabled toilets available.

Do not enter the hotel through the front lobby. You will be redirected to Cannon Place as there is no route through to the area being used from the lobby.
