  1. Is there a schedule ready for Saturday too?

Saturday's schedule is above sunday in the first post.

Its not showing up for me I am just getting Friday and Sunday how very annoying.

  2. I was all ready to buy my ticket based on Trevor Baxter & Christopher Benjamin, along with the dalek movie actors, but if they have been dropped from the line-up then I'll not bother. It's no longer worth my while, and to change a line-up that many were already excited about seems like a poor decision and is like a slap in the face to the fans who were looking forward to the con the way it was.

What is happening about the dinner that was planned? Some of us have already paid for it and its not mentioned on the new website.

  3.

We stayed at the Ibis last time, it was nice. Has anyone checked to see if you can get breakfast at the Park Inn if you not stayiing there?

Yes I stayed at the IBIS last time (and am doing so again this time) and had breakfast at the Park Inn both mornings. If you are happy to pay for it they do a really good cooked breakfast and 'as much as you can eat'.

  4. You will need to email me with your real name etc in info@collectormania.com so I can look into our records. 10th Planet won't have a list of ticket holders unless you bought directly via them.

I have the master list of ALL ticket holders.

Thanks Jola I will send an E Mail (I realised my username wouldnt be enough)

  5. We currently have less than a third of Silver tickets available for The Hub

Jola if we registered for The Hub 2 whilst at the Hub 1 you said before we dont get confirmation.

However I did this and my payment went out from my account the next day. However tenth planet have told me that they have no records of me registering for the Hub 2 or making any payment. Would you be able to check this problem out for me please? I bought a standard ticket and Im fairly sure its within the first 100.

    Thanks

  6. I didnt get charged any extra than the price quoted on my original booking when I stayed @ the Ibis last month...

Guess some of you were just unlucky?!? :D

    G x

Me too in fact they tried to undercharge me.

I hope you saw my message to you n0fear88 on a different thread.

Thats a coincidence I moved here 5 years ago from Berkeley Avenue near the Esso garage - I lived in the flats St Paul's Court! Yes the YMCA is near me just through a cul de sac and you are there.

Im at the IBIS again due to my asking the Park Inn for a room and them telling me they had all gone (what they didnt say was that after registering I needed to show them my receipt) although it was Saturday I asked

  10. Yes I was at The Hub 1. I chatted with Gareth about where he lived when he was in Reading - just off Tilehurst Road apparently so near where I live now and about the same time that I moved to my current flat about 5 years ago. I could have walked I past him!

    James

Wow, that's just down the road from me too, heh small world ^__^

I too would go to his gig if he played here :)

    G x

No it wasnt me but Id definitely go to watch him if he did.

  13. last weekend i had a boozoker :D

No wonder the event went rather smoothly. :YAHOO:

Hi Clarkey I think we may have sat at the same table for the Saturday night entertainment.

Sorry I wasnt very talkative but I think everyone at that table was more interested in those light tube things. I still dont know what they were :)

Hey, were you sitting next to me?

Yes I was (I had my back to the main door) sorry I wasnt very talkative!

    It's ok, i wasn't either. :D

  15.

The one hing I wasnt happy with in the IBIS was the restaurant service (I waited about 45 minutes and then my starter and main course arrived together) and so after my first and only meal on Friday evening I took all meals including breakfast at the Park Inn which I shall be doing this again.

The room at the Ibis was really comfy and nice, but don't eat there.

The only issue I had over the whole weekend was the appaling food at the Ibis. Over two evenings I sent two meals back because they were either stone cold or, on one memorable occasion still frozen, and my brother was then kept waiting for over an hour for a salad.

I kept records and receipts and am taking this up with the management and so hopefully something will be done, but I'm never eating there again.

The food at the Park was really nice!

As you can see in my post above I had the same experience. Despite paying a bit extra it really is worth going to the Park Inn for breakfast too as they do a great self service spread.

When my dessert arrived at the IBIS the custard was stone cold which was a pity as the pie wasnt bad if a little lukewarm. Im sure all my three courses were prepared at the same time. After Friday night my first meal I never ate there again and dont intend to next time.

  16. last weekend i had a boozoker

No wonder the event went rather smoothly.

  17. I have to say that i booked my ticket on sunday using my credit card (!) and I assume most people have done this from conversations I had sunday (yes i know that not everyone has a credit card).

Its taught me a valuable lesson and that is if the next convention is likely to go on sale on the last day then save up ready for then if possible. The other big advantage of booking on sunday was being able to get a room at the park inn, which you were only able to book if you showed them your receipt from Hub2.

Shame I didnt know this. As Ive said on another thread I was told by hotel staff on Saturday afternoon that all Park Inn rooms were booked up on the weekend of the Hub 2 so when I registered on Sunday I didnt bother asking them again.

Still I was happy with my room at the IBIS and meals at Park Inn also parking in Sol Central so I will be doing this again.

It depended on which hotel receptionist you spoke to. On Saturday evening we had been told it was fully booked already, but double checked late on Saturday and were told it was available for Hub bookings. Yet early on Sunday morning someone else was told that the hotel was fully booked and that they should call in mid week to see if there had been any cancellations!

Yes confusing to say the least. There were two receptionists responding to me when I asked a 'junior' one and a 'senior' one it seemed so I assumed they couldnt both be wrong and didnt ask again

  18. As with every convention, Collectormania and such, we have the usual 'Who was that guy/girl' thread!

So, let's start one on here.

Anyone curious as to who someone was that they didn't have the chance to or perhaps dare to speak to???

Mark I might have known youd be the one to start a thread like this! lol

Oohh... now I'm scared... I don't know who you are and yet you know my name... :YAHOO:

lol its James we chatted all weekend after I bumped into you in that car park!

  20. Just thought I'd let everyone know that the Park Inn is already fully booked for 13th - 15th March. They are taking names for a wait list, but apparently it is growing fast... haven't tried any of the other hotels in the area yet but suspect they will book up quickly too.

While I'm thinking of it - is there any way you guys could attempt arranging a discounted rate at one or two of the other hotels in the locality? Not sure how much work is involved in this, but I know I have been to other big events before where they've managed to negotiate some kind of discount at a couple of hotels rather than just the one the event is actually being held at, which would be great for those of us who can't get in at the Park Inn.

I actually enquired about a room at the Park Inn on the Saturday at about 5pm and was told they were already fully booked!

As I stayed at the IBIS this time and I was quite happy with the room and parking next door in the Sol Central I am quite happy to keep that arrangement for the Hub 2.

The one hing I wasnt happy with in the IBIS was the restaurant service (I waited about 45 minutes and then my starter and main course arrived together) and so after my first and only meal on Friday evening I took all meals including breakfast at the Park Inn which I shall be doing this again.

When I came to pay my bill at the IBIS they had no record of my Friday night meal but as I am honest I reminded them and paid for it.
