  1. It's a good thing they were announced now. It saves showmasters having tp deal with this live at the event. Will Showmasters be doing anything in the press leading up to the event to let people without access to the internet aware of the prices?
  2. Careful! You don't want to do that Reaper. That's going against the grain, Turn back while you still can! (was funny though) To everyone, this isn't just a Carrie Fisher thing though. She was the obvious one to point out, but in the grand scheme of things the sum of all the prices, even if you only want two or three is beginning to grow. You should not be looking to take 100s of £££££s to meet you idols. As a friend of mine once said, why, why pay £20+ they're just people, some of which who haven't done much in the past few years. (awaits the brick wall)
  3. I am. I just hope that my opinion is noted by the business watching over us all. Who knows, if enough people end up NOT paying these prices they might drop them in the future and my wouldn't we all be in the hay. Knock knock
  4. Cry baby cry! Make your mother sigh She's old enough to know better, so cry baby cry! Beef I came on here to point out that the prices are beginning to go over the top. Not to get into an arguement where I'm barracked by the showmasters faithful. If you can't take someone elses opinion I feel sorry for you. I probably am jealous, I'd love to have that kind of money to spend but I don't. There are others in the same boat who won't be making that trip to see their heroes, at least spare them a thought.
  5. How is it ungrateful? They've put a price up. People are not happy. They are a business and like a business should be able to deal with it. Provided you all go and pay they probably won't care what the silent few think. If there isn't a C7 you'll be able to save £200+ for something else won't you?
  6. Nobody listens. My opening comment on this whole charade was that I felt the prices were excessive. Of course £25 is less of a rip off compared to other events that charge £50 but it is still a rip off. If differing opinions are your beef then become a vegetarian
  7. *opens a parachute a floats gently down to the keyboard* Me, Ptenbob or DavidB???? Whoever they were aimed at I didn't resort to slanging until Gandalf The Black starting telling me to shut f***in up about bull****, then tiggerific agreed with his comments. I followed up by calling you all sheep, two year olds and querying why Vamps! didn't understand why I decided to complain which she seemed to take well enough and replied with a reasonable answer. Then you Beef Diddy chime in about me wanting the guest to pick a photo, talk with me for an hour etc.
  8. Good morning. I've said my piece so before this all kicks off again I'm bailing out. GERONIMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooo..............................
  9. Vamps! It was good debating with you too. I think!?!?!?!? LOL
  10. ummmmm no I think you will find he was £15 at LFACC as I remember being chuffed seeing as how all the other hobbits were £20 at c4 surfy sah xx ps-I think you should all stop being so violent towards this guy, he is entitled to grumble and some of the things the replies to his posts state aren't strickly true. but I don't want to get in the middle of this so I shall not say more untill I come accross the next post that needs a reply to Thank you very surfy sah. A friendly face at last. *huge sigh of relief*
  11. nah - he wants his auto for free tooo!!!!! And he wants the guest to choose the photo and take it back to the seat, sign it and spend an hour talking to them! nah, an hour wouldn't be enough - he'd want to go through every role they've ever been in and maybe repeat half the lines they've ever said!!!!! why don't we let him be the only guest(?!?) What the hell was all that about? I say that £25 is a ripoff and I'm immediately public enemy number 1? Oh yes I'm sorry any opinions that differ from those within this little coven are not allowed? I'm getting in touch with showmasters, hopefully I'll get a sensible repsonse.
  12. Hi all, I don't want to get involved in this argument, and am not going to, but I just wanted to state that Billy did NOT go up to £20 at LFACC, he was still £15! Mark TD Not the kind of guy to say I told you so.....But...... I did say if you bothered to read the post that i was prepared to stand corrected. It must feel wonderful to be right all the time. There really is no better feeling than pointing out others shortcomings is there?
  13. What exactly are we debating about here???? The cost of autographs or the fact that some people love meeting guests and getting autographs. I'm happy for you that you have some wonderful memories behind your Ewan Mcgregor autograph, but these people who come to Collectormania also have wonderful memories behind the autographs they get. So what you knocking them for??? I would think carefully about issue you are wanting to debate here. Please note I said debate......................that don't mean calling other members names. I hardly call these forum members a bunch of sheep, actually all of them are intelligent and see a good deal when they do. I'M NOT KNOCKING THEM! URRRRGHHH! I am whinging, whining, crying, complaining, bitching, shouting, screaming, over the fact that the cheapest autograph is £15. Showmasters expect people to pay it so they charge it. Gone are the days of £5 and £10. I only see inflation in the future and nobody elses seems bothered. Please, think of others! You'll all go and enjoy your days, that's fine wonderful, I'll shoot a rocket into the air for you all, just spare a thought for those that can't and might never be able to meet a carrie fisher or a nicholas brendan or an elijah frodo because it is simply to much. (hopes the simple message is sinking in yet, but doubts it) I'm off to work now, bring in that cash to spend on bills, food, health.
  14. The arrogance on display here is unbelievable. I don't begrudge people working hard and saving up their cash for these kind of moments. I save my money too and still it isn't enough. I'm not looking for the sympathy vote all I'm saying is that people cannot afford these prices and each year they increase. Why I'm being slapped my pillar to post by you lot is beyond me. Oh dear I'm querying Showmasters what a bounder I am. rip off
  15. Vamps I really don't get why you don't understand why I'm 'whining'. Billy Boyd was £15 when I met him the first time he was ever at a Collectormania. No entry fee. £15 First ever London Film And Comic Con, his price went up to £20. And you were charged on entry fee. I am a Star Wars fan. C6 Carrie Fisher is £25 I and many others do not have the desire nor the funds to spend £25 for one signature on a piece of paper. If Mark Hamill turns up, how much will he be? He was Luke Skywalker!! I am being priced out of meeting a hero of mine. Simple as that. Some of the fans that got them in the position they are in now to charge £25-£50 for an signature are being forced out of meeting their idols and it's not right. I'm glad people are able to spend £20 -£200. Spare a thought for those not in that lucrative position because everytime the answer, "well you don't have to go" or "nobody is forcing you to go" is poured out it grates like fingers down a blackboard. This is my opinion and I am entitiled to it. LOL indeed you are entitled to your opinon. I think you will find that LFCC is a completely different type of event. The type of event that requires greater security, not only for guests but for customers too (don't forget this is a London based event - need I say more?) Also everybody knows that accommodation in London is expensive, so you have to add on the cost of accommodation for both guests and crew, (bearing in mind, that neither party will have B&. I would point out that to hire two halls is extremely expensive stuff. Phone Wembley Exhibition Halls for yourself and find out. There is also equipment to pay for, crew including food and drink for crew. Stationary, photographs, delivery/removal costs............... do you want me to go on???? And then there is still the cost of bringing guests over from wherever they are and paying them to do a job. I also believe that compared with some other events that I know of, the entrance fee for this particular event is still a better deal than others. I think your very naive about how much money goes into organising these events. You have absolutely no idea how much, but I'm sure it comes pretty close to £1million if not more. Its only right that Showmasters charge what they do, to carry on doing business and bring us the kind of guests that we want. As for people having money to attend these events, everyone saves up for it, even young kids do. So again, I really don't see why YOU are whining. Vamps xXxXx You're not the sharpest tac in the drawer are you? I am fully aware of what goes into these events, I'm not moronic. They do have stalls to bring cash. Stalls rent the space, to sell their stuff, they are the wooden horse that keeps the money ticking. The arguements for the prices seems to be. We pay for the flight, food, hotels. THe autograph is bonus to say thank you for giving me a free holiday.

But if it was £15 I am prepared to stand corrected but they still charged you on entry. £20£20£20£20£20£20£20£20£20 and rising
  17. Ewan McGregor's autograph £15 ticket into performance of Little Malcolm and His Struggle Against The Eunuchs And I shook his hand. Money's worth and more. I didn't realise I was talking to a bunch of sheep. This reminds me of an old Not The Nine O'Clock News sketch where they parodied Points Of View All these kiss ass letters saying the BBC was awesome fantastic and wonderful "I'd glady pay triple the licence fee blah blah blah" One letter saying "I think the BBC is a load of crap!" from Mr R.Atkinson King Road Lanc. Telephone etc send the boys in. You are begin ripped off PEOPLE! WAKE UP AND SMELL THE CHEESE! You'll get her autograph and for the rest of your lives be looking at it thinking, that cost me £25 that did. For a couple of seconds, My Ewan McGregor autograph I remember the performance, the anticipation, the man standing right next to me it was superb! Sorry to make this very childish and my dads better than your dad but you're all acting like two year olds. Losing a battle? I will go down with a sword in my hand at the very least.

  19. Well yes they do get money. When a film is shown on tv, dvd sold or a video. They get a little cheque in the post. It's why Roy Schieder was a little peeved after the Jaws success. He was asked if he wanted to buy some shares or something in it. He declined thinking nothing would come of it and boom we all know what happened. Also, I am now no longer intending to attend. Unless Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and Emily Booth turn up. I am simply putting forward the arguement of the little people. The silent majority getting bilked. I was REALLY looking forward to this and now I don't want to, and it's all over what should be the most trivial thing in the world. Money, cash, cool, groats. The thin papery stuff. It shouldn't bother me but it does, and to just accept it is ridiculous. (No I am not calling people ridiculous) I only feel that if enough of us complain, whinge, whine, cry over spilt milk, something good may come of it. Hope you all have a wonderful time, I'll be thinking of you all. Seacrest OUT!
