    Highs -

Being able to finally get to meet Matt Smith without needing to fork out tons of money to fly to America. He is my favourite Doctor in Doctor Who and has been for many years now. He was amazing too, very fan friendly and I even managed to get a hug from him which was definitely one of my biggest highlights of the day. I also love the Tardis photo I managed to get with him too and considering he is my favourite Doctor and to have a great photo with the Tardis in the background makes me even more happier as it to me (as he my favourite in Doctor Who) has more meaning in photos like this. Even at his Autograph table when we where getting rushed through as time was getting on and the Crew needed to hurry things up, he was still smiling and saying hi to fans. He managed to meet my expectations and surpass them, I freaking love this guy!

James Caan was amazing. When I arrived at his autograph table I was quite surprised to see it open queue so I went and got my autographs and he seemed pleasant enough, I even managed to shake his hand afterwards. At the photoshoot he was very nice too sticking his hand out to shake hands with people and thus I managed to get a very nice photo thanks to this, one in which I am really happy about and one of the members of staff who gave me my photo at the shoot told me that she liked the photo too 'Nice Shot' I think I remember her saying which gave me the impression she like the photo too, which really pleased me, more so when I often suffer with a lot of Anxiety and can easily become very sensitive over little trivial things. He was one of the biggest reasons I went to the event and thankfully he didn't disappoint. Also I want to mention for a guy at his age to fly from American for an event like this in hot humid weather and still try and please fans is something I want to praise him for, I have met a few younger guests who have unfortunately been much more colder to fans, so thumbs up to James superb guy!

Daniel Shorago was great to meet too. Whilst I got my autograph with him he was also in the process of getting into full costume ready for his in-costume shoot, he was really fun and fan friendly often joking around, loved it! At his photoshoot I mustered up enough confidence to ask for a pose for the camera and one in which I'm really happy about too. I really wish Voice Actors where not so underrated at these events :(

Chris Eccleston was a really top guy too. I for many many years now have been told that Chris doesn't like his fans and other bad things which I wont go into but when I got my photo with him he was great! smiley and accept different poses for the camera and handshakes too, managed to get a nice photo from him. I have learnt my lesson from listening to other people, if folk say negative things about actors just meet them anyway and make up your own mind on what they are like, you may be surprised at how friendly and different they can be at times..

The Crew where on point. Every time I asked a question they knew the answer and where to go, I have unfortunately been to other events in the past where the Crew where badly advised and thus I ended up missing out on stuff through it. The crew at the queues where great too always trying their best to organise everything with Batch numbers and such. Great stuff!

    LOWS:

David Duchovny When I met him during the photoshoot, I'll admit I was getting rushed in as I had come in late for the shoot but I don't remember him once saying a single word to me, he did have his hand on my back during the photo which kind of made up for the lack of communication, but I cant help but feel like the shoot could of gone better and it may of done if I wasn't late for the actual shoot haha. At his autograph session he did seem rather tired and the person I was with mentioned after I had got my autograph that he did seem tired, he wasn't really looking at people neither. I did however manage to get a 'fist pump' with him, which helped me mood over him a bit. I didn't have high expectations when meeting him so I'm not too disappointing despite how things turned out, maybe he is just a genuine shy guy or just very reserved I have never really read up on feedback regarding him yet.

Steven Seagal Was very reserved too and like David didn't really say anything, so perhaps another really reserved individual. I'm glad that from past events I do make an extra effort to lower expectations before these events now as it really does pay off when one guest unfortunately doesn't live up to expectations. I did manage to shake Steven's hand at the autograph table though.

Missing out on David Tennant, I tried to buy a DP when he got announced but it forever said 'Unavailable' so ended up sadly missing out on that, although I finally got the meet the best Doctor the very next day anyway which more than made up for it. I also managed to see Tennant signing autographs too whilst I was getting my autograph from Seagulls (I love calling him that haha) so its not like I never got to see Tennant xD I'll be very surprised if SM don't get Tennant back very soon considering how Eventbrite reacted to the outburst of his announcement lol

I now have around 6 lovely blisters on my feet from walking around in uncomfortable shoes lol (and yes I have counted them, I'm currently playing with them as I type )

Overall great event! I have enjoyed my weekend, got to meet guests I never thought I would and okay some seemed more reserved than others but I'm quite shy too so I can relate I guess lol. I love the photos and photo poses I got with the guests too. Thanks SM for an incredible and a fantastic weekend! :D

I don't know which day/photoshoot you did with David Duchovny but I went to his first shoot on Saturday (diamond pass) and found him to be quite engaging. I went straight up and said hi and asked how he was and he seemed genuinely happy to respond and smiled at me (though it was still a very rushed experience, hence my mouth been half open on my pic, photographer took it while I was replying to David) when I went for my auto with him after his first photoshoot again  he was quite pleasant and called me by my name (a nice touch)

I did go back after his talk and paid for another autograph (decided to get my copy of his first album signed) and he was a lot quieter this time but when I spoke to him he was polite and did respond but I do think he was tired by this point (not sure what time he arrived and started signing autos but he was there when I arrived at 1030am) I've been an X Files fan since it started so I was over the moon to have the chance to meet David and I went home very happy :D

I'm sorry you didn't have as good an experience with him but I genuinely think by the end of the day he was just tired.

It does feel awkward but It's what I do, go in, grin for the camera, then say thanks and all to the guest whilst hurrying out

I'm still super happy to have met him, I never thought I'd get that chance! As much as I'm not totally happy with my face on the photo I will always have the memories of meeting him and that was totally worth it!

And I guess the photo does kinda tell a story, it makes people ask why I'm pulling that face! :lol:

Just for the future Cazza, you generally can't ask for it to be retaken.  Evil was lucky in this case, as the photographer instructed it in one case and in the other Pearl asked for it to be done again, but normally they only retake for really obvious problems or blinks.  You can't ask for a retake if it's fine but you just don't like it.  Unfortunately they have to be quite strict as some people try to do it as a way of spending more time with the guest

Yeah a friend did say that they only do it if you or the guest has blinked or something like that and they wont do it if you have a hair out of place or something or you just don't like it. And I totally understand why they cant do it but I was replying to David and as soon as I turned my head to face the camera the photographer took the photo but I was still talking so my mouth is half open! I didn't even get chance to smile!  Obviously it was a rookie mistake on my part as this was my first con so first time I've done a photo op but it did kinda ruin the experience for a bit (very unlikely to get an opportunity to meet David again so this is prob the only chance ill get to have a photo with him)

Maybe next time ill just ignore the guest and concentrate on striking a good pose instead?? I just feel that's a bit rude if the guest has asked me a question? <_<

As I say this was my first con experience so at least next time ill be a bit more prepared

Oh rather a long story but here goes....

When it got to my turn, David said hi, how are you? etc and I started answering saying, am good thank you and accidentally turned my head at the exact split second the photographer took the pic (couldn't help myself, so instinctive to look at someone when I talk to them:blush:)  I immediately apologised, so embarrassed and asked if we could take it again, the photographer looked at the pic and said yes so I had another pic taken where I was good and stood very very still . Went to collect my pic and the one with me facing front came out so I took it and went just outside the exit to put it away, as I sat there a guy came out and said...oh your re take pic came, did you want to choose which one you wanted?? so I went back in and the lady showed me the other pic, stood there for about 5 mins with her debating on which one I wanted, she thought the one where I seem to be gazing at him in awe was great so in the end I said, yeah, I'll have that one. Put it away and did my bag up...the lady then sort of shoved the other pic towards me and I was all,  really? I can have it?  She said, yeah, go on. So I thanked her,  took it and ran, not believing my luck. So yeah, two pics with David. The second pic with Pearl came about because she got blinded by the flash as we had the pic taken so asked to have it done again. So once again, was packing my photo away in my file nicely when the other one came out of the printer and the lady working them handed it to me too, so yeah, 2 pics with Pearl as well. Blooming lucky I guess.

Aww wow that's awesome!! I really wish I had asked to have mine taken again cause I was talking to David when the photographer took the photo same as you really I said "Hi David how are you?" and he replied "I'm good thanks how are you?" I was replying when the photographer took it! So my mouth is half open :( This was my first ever con so I didn't know I could ask for it to be retaken and tbh I think I was running on adrenaline at this point (I was so excited to have met David, been a fan of his for 25 years!!)

Both your photos look great tho :D

  5. This was my first ever con and honestly I only came because David Duchovny was gonna be there and I've been an X Files fan since the beginning! I had a fab time and would consider attending again!

The queue for getting in on Saturday was pretty big! I arrived on the tube about 940 (my train was a little late arriving into London) but despite the queue been pretty big it did keep moving and I got into the venue after picking up my diamond pass about 1030. I was lucky David's first photoshoot wasn't till 1155 so I didn't miss it.

I have to praise the guy running David's AM photoshoot and the guy who was running his auto queue. Both were very calm, friendly and ensured it ran smoothly.

Big thanks to Showmasters for getting David to attend this, I never thought id get the chance to meet him so I went home very happy!!

Loving everyone's pics, finally worked out how to use Flickr and then get them to show up here so these are my pics from Sunday. I ended up with 2 pics with Pearl and David Duchovny which was lovely and unexpected. :D

Wow! How did you end up with 2 pics with David Duchovny??

Was he? I have a photo with him tomorrow, but from what I've seen he looks the same on every photo, gave me an idea of being not that nice. Prove me wrong

Trust me he was lovely! (& he gives great hugs!!) I had Diamond pass so was one of the first ones through in the morning session. I went straight up said hi and asked how he was and he replied with I'm good thanks how are you? So I said I'm good thanks. At this point the photographer took the photo.

I would post my pic but I was still talking to David when it was taken so my mouth is half open so I don't really like it :( I should point out David looks great on it!!

When I went for my auto he called me by name and asked how I was. They were really rushing people through both photos and autos so wasn't much time to chat. I actually went back for another auto after his talk (I decided to get my copy of Hell or Highwater signed) and he wasn't quite as chatty this time (though still lovely and polite) but I'm sure he was just tired ( I know I was by then and he was doing a lot more during the day than I was!) I told him I loved both his albums and was looking forward to him coming to perform in the UK and he was very thankful.

The print included with the Diamond Pass is an A3-ish poster of David. I imagine that David will be too busy to allow personalisation unfortunately, but we won't know until the day. Using a post it note will make it easier if he is personalising, yes.

Many thanks. I kinda figured he will be too busy for personalisation and even if he is I have no idea what I ask him to write! lol Tbh I'm just happy ill get to meet him after been an X Files fan for 25 years, anything else is a bonus!

  9. Sorry if this seems like a silly question. I've bought diamond pass for David and it says it includes an exclusive print. Am I right in thinking this is one of the prints that will be available at his autograph table that you can have him sign if you don't have anything to bring with you?

Also will the autograph be just his signature or can/will it be more personalised e.g name etc (I realise that this will depend on the guest as some will just write their signature) if David is signing more than just his name do you need to put what you want him to write on a post it note along with the item you want signing?

Forgive me I'm a convention virgin!! lol

Bumblebee is a paid shoot like the Lee one, but the others will just be displayed on the main floors Cazza so you can have a photo of them if you wish, you don't pay

Many thanks Raylenth!  Do I need to pre-book a ticket to have a photo with Bumblebee? Ive looked on LFCC website but cant seem to find it <_< I know there was a photo op with Megan Fox and Bumblebee but now Megan has cancelled. Or is this something you can pay for on the day? Also do you know roughly how much it is?

Sorry for all the questions!

  11. Not sure if this has been asked already (Or if I've misread it somewhere)

I've seen on LFCC Facebook page that Optimus Prime, Bumble bee, the Bat tumbler & The General Lee will be at the con. I know you can pay to have your photo taken with The General Lee my question is can you take photos of the other cars?  (stood next to or a selfie) do you need to purchase a ticket for this??

Forgive me if this has been asked it's my first ever con so no idea what to expect

  12. Forgive me if this has already been asked its my first time attending a con! As ill be arriving by tube and I have printed out my Saturday entry ticket can I enter via Grand Hall entrance (which is opposite Kensington station) and walk through to gate H to collect my Diamond pass or will I have to walk round the outside of Olympia and enter through gate H?

Looking at it I'm sure ill have to walk round to gate H but just wanted to ask in case I can potentially save myself some time!
