Sorry to be a bit of a pain, but how long can we expect to wait for the refund?
-
Once again, thank you for your patience over this event. We do really appreciate it. Please be assured this is the last time the event will be moved or changed
sounds rather absurd now, doesn't it?
Well, seeing as the Film Production Company got involved this time, I think saying it sounds rather absurb is a bit off the mark.
I can't agree (even without your typo). I was always told never to make promises I can't keep.
Was there a need to do the childish jibe about a typo? Grow up.
It's what I do when I am extremely angry. Think yourself lucky - I could have been rude, too.

I'm looking forward to you starting a thread entitled "Interesting things to do in Northampton on a late November weekend"
*edited*
As per forum rules, other non SM/ME events cannot be discussed.

I think somebody should think PRETTY SOON of putting a notice up on the main page. Knowing the organisational ability of your set-up this probably won't happen until Thursday but, every little helps.
I have to agree, putting up a notice on the main website should be the main priority, then updating this forum after that.
Yes. Also consider that they knew it wasn't going ahead ON THE 12TH! (See other threads.)

lots of things have come up, all in a good way so thank you for being patient with us
REALLY??

I'm going to put all this out of my head until Wednesday, then I'll think about whether Showmasters/Massive Events ever deserve my custom again...
We've already decided - NO!

I know this is not all your fault, but this is the third event we were planning on attending, and had paid for in advance, in Northampton, that has been cancelled THIS YEAR.
We are not going to push our plans back to December, nor April, nor any other dates you care to mention that you are planning an event.

(4th October)
Your inter-office communications could do with some sorting out!
-
Damn! We can't make it Saturday.

Cons are terrifyingly expensive to run
When you are unemployed, they are terrifyingly expensive to attend!

(17 September)
Prices still disagree - Standard (£78/88) and Silver (£135/155)
-
(September 17) The main page still says:
Standard Adult Programme at £78
Silver Programme at £135
And the online store says:
Standard Adult Programme at £88
Silver Programme at £155

Myself and the wife will be there. We have booked standard tickets. As we haven't been to one of these before, we want to see what goes on before shelling out the extra dosh. We will be staying at any local campsite we can find in out motor-caravan. We both play the Online LOTR game (her more than me) as Pedantor Drackadder and Helos Deathstalker (her main character).
-
Sorry, it's only been a couple of hours since this was pointed out. Our webmistress is usually doing this stuff in the evening, but please give it some time.
I will also forward the problem with the other links, thanks for your help.
Still there!
Also the Hotel Website link isn't working either.
Out tickets are bought now anyway and out accommodation is sorted out (elsewhere), so we are sorted.
-
Ah - a further reply from the hotel (despite us telling them in the original email that we were not staying there):
There was a little bit of misunderstanding regarding car parking as we were thinking you are staying with us on those dates.
I am afraid car parking for non-residents works as pay and display, however due to health and safety reason we wont be able to accommodate your mobile home.
So - next door it is then.
-
I see. I did not realise this would be a standard reply. Thank you, I shall call them as well.
-
Thanks for your concern. I did contact the hotel direct and their reply is above. Ours is not a caravan, it is a (admittedly large) campervan, so grass shouldn't be a problem.
That's a good idea about Too Tall, I shall delay my booking a bit longer - there should be enough time.
-
Since there has been no reply from 'Too Tall', I am assuming we both have to pay top whack (well, standard, actually).
Pity, as most events make some reduction for carers of disabled guests (visitors). (Even the BBC at Cardiff earlier this year.)
Still, worth a try. This will not affect our decision to go - see you there.

Thanks for the advice.
I had to google to get the hotel's email address, as the link on your home page doesn't work.
They have assured me that they 'have a car parking facilities'.
TBH that doesn't reassure me, but I will be taking the email to wave at people if they complain.
Hopefully see you there.

We intend to attend this event (my other half is insanely addicted to the LOTR Online game), but in our motorcaravan, which is more convenient for us as it carries her mobility scooter.
We can easily find a local camp site, but would parking be a problem at the hotel?
I can see (google earth) a few car parks around town, but there would be cost and access issues.
Also, as mentioned above, she is disabled, is there a discount for disabled/carers?
Cheers

Besides David Tennant she is the only other actor to play the same character (in her case, Trinity Wells) in all of the first four series of the revived Doctor Who from 2005 to 2008.
Was David Tennant in the first series of the revived Doctor Who? (Apart from the last 30 seconds of the final episode.)
-
Just a quickie - we are very interested in attending this event.
On the home page, a link takes us to the Purchasing Event Programmes page, where the standard price is £78 (+ £3 p&p).
On the Buy Tickets page the price is £88.
What's going on? Is the programme different to a ticket? The items they list are the same.
