Hello everyone....
I would like to apologise for all comments made by me on these boards regarding costuming. While I have tried, and will continue trying, to be absolutely honest in everything I've said, I realise that my comments on this particular topic were inappropriate and could be constued as offensive. I realise now that, while I was perfectly within my rights to say I disapproved of costuming, the way inwhich I expressed this disapproval was wrong and for this I apologise.

Its better to be honest with yourself and say what you think at the risk of offending people than not saying anything at all and bottling it up.
I used to have a similar opinion to you about this, but very recently changed my mind when I met a few people that regularly wear costumes at events. They are not all attention seeking insecure individuals, but really pleasant people that like to express their appreciation of a particular movie or movie character by dressing up. It reminded me of something very important - don't devalue or ridicule something that you are not apart of, as you don't really know what's going on unless you are a part of it. Don't be judgemental of other peoples interests and the way they express them. And most importantly, look past all the peripherals to the person beneath. Sometimes you need to remind yourself of that, myself included. I'll certainly never take the **** again.
