The Hunger Games is a book trilogy thats been adapted into a film, its very popular as was twilight? Its got a huge cast and could be a great convention?

Here’s the official synopsis for The Hunger Games:

Every year in the ruins of what was once North America, the nation of Panem forces each of its twelve districts to send a teenage boy and girl to compete in the Hunger Games. Part twisted entertainment, part government intimidation tactic, the Hunger Games are a nationally televised event in which “Tributes†must fight with one another until one survivor remains.

Pitted against highly-trained Tributes who have prepared for these Games their entire lives, Katniss is forced to rely upon her sharp instincts as well as the mentorship of drunken former victor Haymitch Abernathy. If she’s ever to return home to District 12, Katniss must make impossible choices in the arena that weigh survival against humanity and life against love.

THE HUNGER GAMES will be directed by Gary Ross, and produced by Nina Jacobson’s Color Force in tandem with producer Jon Kilik. Collins’ best-selling novel, which has over 3 million copies in print in the United States alone, is the first in a trilogy of novels which have developed a global following.

Anyone else excited for this??? Id love to meet some of the huge cast!

  2. Yeah theres pleanty of signs - failing that head for the giant silver bubbly thing (the bull ring) or ask ppl... its like a 5 min walk, nothing to stress over! and coming out of birmingham international station, theres signposts for hilton. - J x

  3. For the price of the taxi... its much MUCH easier and cheaper to walk across to newstreet, and get the train to birmingham international - the hilton is like 2mins away from the station. and trains run fairly regularly from newstreet to international. - J x

  4. Please can someone just answer me roughly how much the 8 x 10's are to purchase from the dealers room?

I have a ton of photo paper here but our printer is out of black ink! Fingers crossed my partner can find a cartridge later or I will have to buy some you see - But this is my first event so would be greatful for any indication of prices.

As far as I can remember at previous cons its been roughly £10 for 3... or £15 for six... something like that - pretty reasonable and look good, I always end up with a handful every con!

  5.

People leaving rubbish on seats to reserve them... its okay if you're just nipping to the toilet but if your gonna run off for autographs/nose around the dealers room for over an hour wasn't fair to others.

I'm actually quite sure we were told to leave stuff on our seats to reserve them...maybe I'm wrong though.

I'm not commenting on people leaving stuff to reserve seats we were told that, but people were leaving empty chrisp packets and empty can's and then leaving for hours on end and people where coming in and no one knew if the seats were reserved or not? I dunno, I felt bad.

and like I said questions could be a matter of taste but seriously all silly/irrellevent questions gets tedious, really fast imo.

  6. I have to say huge thank you firstly to the event staff - ET4 was one of the best and most smoothly ran events Ive ever been too So thank you!

Con's (only a few minor ones with one big one?)

The only big complaint would be the questions in the guest talks? Are they filtered at all, I know I and several others asked loads of questions about Eclipse and non of them got asked - instead we got a whole load of trivial stuff that we as an audience and the guests them selfs didn't really care about.. like what's your favorite museum? If you could invent anything what would it be and why? can you say pancakes? WHAT? It was crazy at ET2 I came away after the talks and just felt like Id took so much from it at this one I thought "whats your favorite colour" could have been asked at any second. (There may be a reason why they weren't asking about eclipse but It baffled me that there was hardly any talk about the films and reason they were here?) I know part of that can be personal taste, but it was getting frustrating.

People leaving rubbish on seats to reserve them... its okay if you're just nipping to the toilet but if your gonna run off for autographs/nose around the dealers room for over an hour wasn't fair to others.

Can we please get another Twilight backdrop for the photo sessions, the twilight backdrop looks EPIC and finishes the photo's off perfectly and the other one is just a bit urgh.

    Pro's

Everything else was honestly EPIC and couldn't have been done better at all. Must say we LOVED the way the gold reception was done this time, It just felt like it worked much much better this way, was more intimate and absolutely the highlight to our weekend.

Having the clothing collection and stuff like that - stuff relating to twilight fandom was great just really added to the atmosphere, plus Richelle Mead was lovely!

I actually really liked having autographs starting on friday... I stressed much less? could just be me?

The parties as always were fabulous! And the hotel was a brilliant convention hotel!

Overall the con was brilliant with only a few little disappointments.
