no, not just you neil, that last post was incredibly patronising. i'm my years i've run many forums, the biggest at its height having over 3000 active members. and i have never, ever, heard anyone claim that they read the rules and such when they registered. never.
assuming that others will, and should, always do as you do, is pretty arrogant. i know cause i dont know anyone more arrogant than i am. did anyone consider pointing this out? or asking neil to remove the link?
i must admit i find this all a bit petty. not for not wanting to allow any advertising, which this isnt really, but i can see the reason behind it, but for the patronising attitude taken in doing it. your not a primary school teacher used to dealing with small children are you? i'm sure i had you in primary 3.
if theres one thing that really gets my back up its this type of fervent moderation, your not the chinese government, lighten up a bit and try to work with the users on the board, or customers as they are otherwise known. a simple request to remove a link the first time it was noticed, instead of just removing it, would have served both to have it removed, and educate as to why, eliminating the possibility of him doing so again. and also eliminated the whole arrogant condescending nature of the follow up.
