The Cosplay Showdown is all about improvised comedy and humour. It's a knock-out contest and judged not by the quality of the cosplay, but by how entertaining you are. The Showdown is all about teams, not individuals, and you can enter a team of between 2-6 people.

Note: Depending on how many teams we get, we may hold an "audition" earlier in the day so only the top 6 teams compete in the actual showdown)

The first two rounds are the qualifiers. First round is the "Epic Quest". Each group sets off on a journey. The audience can at any stage put their hands up and put forth an event which happens. Could be anything from Elvis Presley turning up, to killer catgirls, or aliens. The second qualifying round is short and sweet - "things my cosplay character would not say". One line per person.

Once the two qualifiers are done, the judges pick the top two teams to go through to the Final Showdown. The teams line up on opposite sides of the stage and take turns to perform a Final Fantasy/Pokemon (or from any generally well known RPG) style attack on their opponent. For every attack the judge decides if it was a critical hit (lose 20HP), hit (lose 10HP), miss (lose zero), or fail (the attacking team loses 10 HP!). Expect for unexpected twists and turns as the final showdown heats up! Surviving team wins the showdown! The teams can also try and perform heal style moves as well (same deal, but reversed).
