veasse
I know that Los con and Comic cons State side, have Wil Wheaton appearing....i would love to see Wil at Comic con, doing a talk about Just a geek...... he has sold out of Dancing Barefoot......i think you should snap him up quickly! he's doing a VH1 show soon.... I think we should have either jonathan frakes or PATRICK STEWART! he rawks and was not only captain jean-luc Picard (the best darn captain the enterprise has ever seen) but professor xavier! in X-men!! So please can you look at the possibility of ST:NG characters especially ones who are so loved as actors and cool dudes....... Wil has a huge following and plus he'll listen to you! www.wilwheaton.net and contact.. or just mail wil@wilwheaton.net and you'll get him no problems! just make it clear what its about! What does everyone else think about these guests? Veasse x
dragonmate1
I support your suggestion.. Anyone from STNG would be great.. Some are already doing shows over here next year, so rule out Marina Sirtis and Michael Dorn.. That leaves Patrick Stewart, Jonathan Frakes gates McFadden Levar Burton Brent Spiner Wil Wheaton or how about (probably impossible) Whoopi Goldberg!!! Admiral_Bear
I hate to maybe sound rude, but everyone who frequents and contributes to this fourm really should know that getting Patrick Stewart to attend and sign at a convention is nigh impossible. . .after all, this ground has been covered several times. Patrick Stewart also hates the large majority of his fan base! His "I wanted to hurt them" speech about Star Trek fans is now almost as legendary as Shatner's ST:V toupee. I'm a huge Trekker, and appreciate all efforts made by people to get the big Trek actors to attend UK conventions, but in the case of most of the TNG cast, I'm afraid it just isn't going to happen. Aside from Marina *sighs* , all the others are either too busy, or just not interested in coming over here for longer than 2 hours to appear at an overpriced, and tiresome Creation gig, where they won't (and are not allowed to) personalise. I would love to meet Jonathan Frakes if Showmasters could get him, but is schedule is continually packed. As for Spiner, his ego negates any possibility of him appearing. . he thinks he's just too damn big. I'd also like to meet Wil Wheaton and Denise Crosby. I know Denise has been over here in the past, so getting her again is possible. How about trying to get the really difficult DS9 actors? I'd love to meet Colm Meany. . could he be tempted out of convention retirement? Also Avery Brooks and Terry Farrell. They're nice people, but seeing the same old Trek actors doing the UK convention rounds every year is getting a bit boring. No more Andy Robinson, Bob Picardo & Walter Koenig PLEASE! Oh, and Showmasters have got about as much chance of actually getting Brad Dourif to show up next April, as I have of becoming the next captain of the Enterprise. He was supposed to appear *at another show :- edited by Showmasters* last year, and he never showed. No explanation was ever given.
veasse
well sweetheart, i appreciate your imput, i know Patrick wont do them, but he's not as bad as William farking shatner by a long shot! theres more chance of getting Wil, do you perchance go or are you a memebr of his site? I think if anyone could get Sean Astin and Elijah Wood i'm sure they can get Wil! and on the Brad dourif note.... sorry to be blunt but who gives a rats ass! bring back Billy Boyd, or bring someone we actually give a hoot about.....if stars think they are TOO BIG then we dont want to know, we here to interact as human beings not worship them and give them a big ego trip..(not all of us anyway) Bring SEAN ASTIN back and i'm there.... Maybe Brads just scared..... hehehe!! V xx
dragonmate1
You never know.. Circumstances may change for some actors... Perhaps Patrick Stewart would be more interested in promoting Xmen than Trek and may still come.. I know he has a reputation, but hey, he may mellow in his old age.. Brent Spiner now seems to be going to conventions again, so may be a real possibility.. After all, what has he done since Trek!!!!.. I'm not sure when Thunderbirds will be premiered over here, but it would be fantastic if it co-incides with LFCC.,. Frakes will be over here then and may welcome the opportunity to publicise it further.. How about some of the supporting stars from STNG.. Dare I mention John De lancie!!!!!! Denise Crosby or how abour Dwight Scultz (Reginald Barclay)who would also cater for A Team fans.. Martha Hacket (Seska) Majel Barrett Roddenberry... Michelle Forbes (Ensign Ro Laren)
Admiral_Bear
John De Lancie was at the NEC last July, and doesn't always come to the UK every year. But you can but ask. I was lucky and caught him in a good mood. I've met Dwight. . great bloke, but a little odd. Usually appears in the UK once a year. I don't like Shatner either, and you can say what you like about him. . .but he does regularly attend conventions, albeit in the US, and sign in person, which is more than Patrick Stewart does. And Shatner was here in London last January and signed. . .although for a very hefty price. Not his fault, it was Creation Entertainment ripping the fans off. And erm. . yeah. . Michelle Forbes (Ro Laren) Bring her on!

He was supposed to appear *at another show :- edited by Showmasters* last year, and he never showed. No explanation was ever given. The difference between us and other show organisers is that we actually have a signed contract with Brad. And we actually pay our guests, unlike other promoters that have problems paying their guests just before the event and then tell the public that the guest has cancelled. showmasters

Admiral_Bear
Oooooooooooh, Jango, please elaborate. I just love a bit of juicy "guests on their worst behaviour" gossip! Having the claim to fame that Walter Koenig was verbally rude to me last year when I politely asked him to write 3 words on a photo, I'd love to know how allegedly (and we shall call him Ensign Suder for legal reasons ) treats people who pay good money to come and see him. Actually, I can feel a whole new thread starting! Respect Admiral Ted E Bear
veasse
i witnessed my friend being subjected to rude behaviour by one of C4 guests.... i was really upset cause it was one of the main people he had come to see being a trekkie and it was the first guest he met.... he said to me afterwards are they all like that? i told him it was a one off and that the person must just have ideas of grandeur when said person is nothing..... i was really peeved, the guest made my friend feel so patronised and insignificant.....he's not a fan anymore!! Hes gutted he actually paid for that treatment! Veasse xx

Admiral_Bear
The Trek guests at C4 were George Takei, Rene Auberjonois and Roxann Dawson. . It must've taken something pretty huge to get any of them upset enough to be rude to someone. I met all three at C4 and they were all great. . .especially George and Rene who were both very kind and chatty. As far as I know, George has never said a rude word to or about anyone in his life. . .not ever Shatner! Luckily I've never had a problem with anyone from Trek apart from Walter Koenig. . and he was fine the next time I met him. Nichelle Nichols had a slight "don't you know who I am?" attitide, but she was still quite pleasant. And of course, I didn't get a word or even a glance out of Shatner, but then who ever has?! Jangojohnny
Actually, Rene said to us "How long have you known about this fair?" (It was friday and VERY quiet) so I said that we had been waiting for it for 6 months with baited breath.. He told me that I was sad!!..Didn't like him. I didn't bother with Roxanne but she's always a little grumpy with her "Don't touch me" attitude. I love George with a passion..such a wonderful guy and so down to Earth..You feel like he respects you for being a fan. Walter is OK but getting a smile out of him is tough.. I like this new secret thread within the trek page. PEOPLE WHO WERE RUDE!! We could talk Peter Weller but that would take all night and everyone knows my feeling on Patty Steward. veasse
George was a true professional and a gentleman! Mr Takei was amazing and he personalised his book and i mean very personal message to my father and gave him a message down my comcorder which my dad thinks is the bees knees! as far as Rene was concerned he made up for my friends mistreatment he was professional and saw how shy my friend was and talked to him, it broke the ice and my friend was beaming after that! My friend is really painfully shy and i told him he just has to speak up and talk or he wont have a nice experience but that lady was just downright rude... i'm sorry if the lemon she had in her gob didnt suit her but being a professional you would at least try to smile and say one word... saying that she was not in the least professional and i didnt know who the hell she was and personally i dont care... i was fuming he was so upset! Everyone else was so good and lovely.... My heart stays with Lord of the rings people and TNG people! oh and Word on the Shatner thing...... he's a right idiot! I have met her several times now and shw doesn't really differ.. Take it from me, to get a smile and a hello from Roxann is pretty good. According to some other Voyager actors, Roxann is not a lady you want to mess with, she is apparently queen of the put-downs.. Personally, at C4, I thought Roxann was probably at her best.. but you have to realise that Roxann at her best probably doesn't come anywhere near as George Takei at his worst!! (not daniel ~ hes just a kid whos excited to be where he is!) dragonmate1
Regarding Roxann.. I didn't mean she is famous for putting down fans.. She is known amongst the crew as a lady not to cross.. What has been said on this thread is typical of Roxann. I suppose that's just the way she is.. As I said, I though Roxann was pretty good (for her) at C4.. She seemed to smile a lot and actually talk to people. I don't think it is a snub to fans by Roxann, but merely her natural self.. You have to expect that a certain number of people are naturally grumpy.. Like David Carradine, John De lancie, definately William Shatner and alas, although I have yet to experience it , according to many on thisforum, Patrick Stewart.. Off the track a little bit, did anyone noticde on the saturday, how Brian Thompson was?? I don't know if he had just got off the plane from the US, but when I saw him, he seemed to be almost falling asleep and struggling to keep any sort of attention.. If this was tiredness and jetlag, fair play to the guy for honouring his commitment.. It would have been easy for him to rest on the Saturday and just do Sunday.. What a trooper!!!! veasse
I dont get it!! The LotR peeps were so rushed and they got no rest! they got off a plane and went to the cinema! Andy wasnt at his best he had a few things on his mind but he was so pleasant and lovely i guess its just the personality or lack of it in roxanns case! i mean theres just no need for it! all the guests i met and saw were lovely and showed as much respect as i was giving them! they appreciate that and so do i! i'm sure she would be even more grumpy if she saw this! but i hope she reads it and realises that at the end of the day shes not gaining from it! if you want to talk about proffessionalism.......Andys your man! he was so great.... as was Sean, Sala, Lij, dom, George, And corey if i did think it was rude to keep the sunglasses on when i wanted a pic of him without........... the other guests were fab and i hope that SM keep that standard of guest and maybe find out what people are like before they pick people!
