Showmasters Admin showmasters Posted January 19, 2009 Showmasters Admin Share Posted January 19, 2009 atest Guest Wing Commander John Freeborn Saturday only Wing Commander John Freeborn first served with No 74 ‘Tiger’ Squadron seeing action over Dunkirk and later in the Battle of Britain "where he flew more operational hours than another other pilot during that time" Flying Spitfires throughout the Battle of Britain, John became an ‘Ace’. Throughout his career he served with No 74 Squadron, 57 OTU, 601 and 118 Squadron and later became a Wing Commander of the 286 Italian Wing.
