Showmasters Admin showmasters Posted September 5, 2005 Showmasters Admin Share Posted September 5, 2005 To celebrate the DVD release of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith we have decided to bring back Empire Day, the original Star Wars fan convention. We ran the very first Star Wars convention in England way back in 1994 at Borehamwood around the corner from Elstree Studios, the birthplace of Star Wars, and continued to bring actors and fans together for the next 8 years. We are all big Star Wars fans ourselves and are going back to our roots to run one big Star Wars convention once a year, more along the style of the traditional conventions with free talks, dealers room, guest signings, and displays of props and costumes. We also intend to bring guests who have never done public signings before as well as old favourites, so there is bound to be something for everyone! There will be around 30 Star Wars guests, and the first announcements have been made in another thread. Empire Day 2005 will be on Sunday 13th November, at the Grundy Park Leisure Centre, Cheshunt, just 2 weeks after the launch of episode III on DVD. More details will be posted on the new website www.empireday.co.uk (coming soon) and further updates will be announced here too.

Another begging spree is due, I do believe, for another day off (I'm taking one for C8, the Con in London soon after, another SW event later in the year, and now this!!!)...
