Showmasters Admin showmasters Posted May 13, 2005 Showmasters Admin Share Posted May 13, 2005 We are introducing a new "gold pass" service at Collectormania 8. These passes have great advantages including free tickets and priority seating at all our talks and special events, and faster access to the guests Here are the main advantages for gold pass patrons: Free Talk and other event Tickets A free ticket for each talk will be available to pre-book up to 2 weeks before the event (even if tickets have already sold out). Priority seating will also be given to Gold Pass Patrons, who will be able to enter the seating area before the main queue. Autograph Queues Gold Pass Patrons will have the advantage of being ABLE TO JOIN THE BACK OF ANY QUEUE WITHOUT HAVING A VIRTUAL QUEUING TICKET! This will cut down your overall waiting time incredibly, and allows a great deal more to be done over the weekend. Goody Bags Gold Pass Patrons will receive goody bags with great promotional movie items, some of which cannot be bought elsewhere, and autographs from previous guests. Photo CD To help you remember your experience at the show, we will send on a photo CD of images taken by the Official Showmasters photographer at the show! If you have any queries over the show you will be able to contact a dedicated crew member who will be available to help you on the day. THERE ARE ONLY 50 GOLD PASS'S AVAILABLE, and these are being made available to the fans only. They will be available to buy (unless sold out) up to 2 weeks before the show at a cost of £250. garnerman
WHY IS IT MORE EXPENSIVE WHEN WE DON'T PAY ADMISSION FEE FOR THIS EVENT???
Showmasters Admin showmasters Posted May 13, 2005 Author Showmasters Admin Share Posted May 13, 2005 WHY IS IT MORE EXPENSIVE WHEN WE DON'T PAY ADMISSION FEE FOR THIS EVENT??? Because it's a much busier show over more days, with more guests and more paid talks and parties.
Evie_Nitram
That seems like good reasons to me... I'd consider it except for 2 minor points... 1) I rarely spend that much at a collectormania event... about £150 would be my limit considering food/drink/accommodation and petrol all costs as well 2) At the moment, I just don't HAVE £250... Doubt they'll have any left by the time start of September arrives and I have that kind of money again! Oh yeah - I liked the bit on the LFCC gold pass that said you can get in before the crowds at the door... would be tres beneficial for Milton Keynes in October... Any chance you could swing that for Gold tickets to C8??
JMsAngel
Sorry about asking, but i´m German and I´m not sure if I could understand a few things correctly. 1. From when on can you buy these tickets ?? 2. The talk tickets are free, but you still have to pay for all the autographs ?? 3. Does the photo CD mean that a posed photo with all guests you wanna see are allowed ??? Will you have to pay extra for the photos? I think this is a very good idea so that problems like they occured at C7 can be prevented. I was lucky, I really enjoyed my first Collectormania, everything was perfect, so I didn´t have anything to complain about, but for those who want to make sure that everything goes perfect, this is the best idea. When you bring JM back I will buy one gold ticket for sure
Lady of The Realm
Ok, this is just my opinion, I don't mean to hurt anyone's feelings, but I think this gold pass is a horrible idea. So just because some people have more money than others, it means they get to be treated better? It's not fair for them to get best seats etc just because they're loaded and and can afford it. I do not think this is a good idea at all. And it is slightly unfair.

However as most of the queues are people getting there early to be sure they get virtual queue tickets and gold pass holders don't need them, they can have a lie in and arrive hours after everyone else! Yes, you will still have to pay for any autographs you buy over the weekend Does the photo CD mean that a posed photo with all guests you wanna see are allowed ? The CD will be of general photos of the show and guests (much like the ones in the image gallery on the main Collectormania website), not of yourself with the actors. You won't have to pay for the CD we send you. We will be posting more detailed information on our websites shortly.
tiggerbabe
How about just selling the goody bags and photos cds on their own? I'd buy one at the right price. Queuing doesn't bother me too much, collectormania wouldnt be the same without having to get up and stupid times and queuing for most of the day! When I heard about these plans first, I was rather firmly planning on buying a gold pass. But that price simply beats my budget. 100 pounds would have been the absolute limit. No way I can afford 200 or even 250. I think I'll have to live with getting up early again. *sighs*

Queen_Sindel
Getting up early is half the fun! Well, I say fun ... Yeah, I like it, too. Our Sunday morning waiting for James Marsters was very enjoyable. But one part of me would find it nice to sleep in for once.

You will note that we don't all wear the state-issue clothes and ride the same state-issue bikes as in Mao's China or all drive state-issue Trabants... (At least not in my neck of the woods, comrade) It may well be that these "loaded" people (and I'd guess that they've probably worked very hard for their money) want to spend a lot of money at the show, and because of queues currently can't spend as much as they would like. So now SM is giving them a chance to spend more, which is good for SM (and arguably good for everyone, if it means their budgets can increase a bit). Plus, look at what SM is giving them for £250 - how much is that package going to actually cost SM? A lot less than £250, so that's thousands of pounds of profit they will make from these tickets, profit which they say they're going to use for the benefit of all showgoers, including you. These "loaded" (and isn't that oh-so-perjorative) people were always there, it's just that now you might actually benefit a little from their willingness to splash their cash around. Of course, if you find the whole concept of people buying privileges with money so offensive, then you could always move to North Korea - I believe that they still adhere to a hardline communist doctrine of treating everybody equally. Daniel Jackson
Mmmm i could afford one gold ticket but i don't wanna go on my own It's a bit like charlie and the Choc factory ticket.......maybe you could... oh never mind. The problem is you would have to want to see many guests to warrent getting a gold ticket, else you may wanna see a couple but then they may cancel nearer the time? mooby81
Sounds like a good idea, it's just down to whether i can afford it. i've just booked and paid for my hotel... i think i'll sleep on the idea... only problem being is you still have to buy autos and i normally spend hundreds over the weekend
stefnshez
Hi We queued up for James Marsters, five of us, but only one wanted the actual autograph, but all needed tickets. Two of the group were small children, and obviously all didn't want to get seperated. If we were to have a gold pass, again it would be only the one person to get the autographs, but can the others join the Q? It would really just be a matter of in then out, as no time would be taken away from other people?
mattkt
With the gold ticket do you get like 5, 10 free auto's? cos if its just to join the back of a queue its not worth it especially if the goody bag is like the fox give away
Nightcrawlerette
It's a bit like charlie and the Choc factory ticket.......maybe you could... oh never mind. haha! yes, a competition where you give away some gold tickets would be great! it does seem a lot of money just for the no virtual tickets.
