Showmasters Admin Too Tall Posted July 23, 2009 Showmasters Admin Share Posted July 23, 2009 (edited) The flyer for Collectormania London was based on the flyer for Collectormania MK. Unfortunatly it appears that the FREE ENTRY part of the CM:MK flyer was not removed. But the correct price list WAS added to the bottom. The flyers have since been corrected. Sorry for any confusion this may have caused. To clear it up.... This is NOT be a FREE entry event. The entry fee will be the same as LFCC as per the >>EVENTS DETAILS<< page here on the CM:London website. SATURDAY PROGRAMME ENTRY: Early Bird £10 (from 9am) Standard Entry (11am to 6pm) Adults £5, Children £3 (Under 12) SUNDAY PROGRAMME ENTRY: Early Bird £10 (from 9am) Standard Entry (11am to 5pm) Adults £5, Children £3 (Under 12) Edited August 6, 2009 by Too Tall
tribblelyn
There appears to be some confusion. This is NOT be a FREE entry event. The entry fee will be the same as LFCC. The flyers I picked up at LFCC state that entry will be free. If this was a mistake as your comment suggests, there will be quite a lot of people expecting just that, free admission. Moderators DavidB Posted July 28, 2009 Moderators Share Posted July 28, 2009 Yes, this has been raised on a few occasions already, and is the exact reason why this topic was originally posted
Queen_Sindel
Some of the previous posts said free entry was mentioned on top of the flyers, but prices given on the bottom. As David said, there was quite some confusion because of that after LFCC.
Chantellios
Well i was willing to pay anyhow :) might go earlybird but not arrive as early and in a taxi. i got bored pretty quickly with all of my shoots being from 11:35 + Edited August 7, 2009 by Chantelliosis
stavrosbel
I'd always assumed this would be a pay to enter convention, afterall there are the fees involved for renting out the hall. Still, probably doesn't explain why MK is free - are there no venue fees associated with that event?
gem-sanders
Why should I have to pay for an event ticket when this event is normally free. Why can't the event be in Milton Keynes Dons Stadium. Why can't people wear Hats, Coats, Gloves, Scarf they used at the other CM event held at that time of year.
adriangill
I'd always assumed this would be a pay to enter convention, afterall there are the fees involved for renting out the hall. Still, probably doesn't explain why MK is free - are there no venue fees associated with that event? I expect there were fees. The problem was that due to the original location of it being in the middle of the entry free shopping centre there would have been no way to 'police' the charging. You couldn't charge everyone who entered the shopping centre a fee as a lot of the people would have just been ordinary shoppers and not event attendees - how would you differentiate between the two? The free entry 'perk' was carried over when the event moved to the stadium, which was a nice gesture, as I expect if everyone was honest with themselves then they would have expected to pay a entry fee at the new venue - I did. After all the Midlands event at the Ricoh stadium had a small entry fee. Why should I have to pay for an event ticket when this event is normally free. Why can't the event be in Milton Keynes Dons Stadium. Why can't people wear Hats, Coats, Gloves, Scarf they used at the other CM event held at that time of year. I believe I read in another post that the MK stadium is unavailable

Jaws75
Does this mean I would have to pay £3.00 for my 1 year old?!!!
Moderators etmuse Posted August 11, 2009 Moderators Share Posted August 11, 2009 (edited) Does this mean I would have to pay £3.00 for my 1 year old?!!! If it's like the Glasgow event, then no From the online store for Glasgow tickets children's tickets are only valid for ages 12 and under (under 4's go free) Obviously I don't know so can't say if this will be the same for London, but I can't imagine why they would change it. Queen_Sindel
Does this mean I would have to pay £3.00 for my 1 year old?!!! There's never been a ticket required if you bring kids that young. I can't see you having to pay at this event either.

Always a bit different to actually get there though firstly - keep a eye on the forum leading up to the show as many people both newcomers and seasoned veterans post questions and queries about dos and dont's which are always helpful secondly - at the show there are always plenty of crew members that will always be around to ask questions, as well as plenty of us seasoned veterans Collectermania and LFCC are great events - well organised and fun day outs, as long as you know what guests you want to see, what events/photoshoots/talks to want to attend - then i am sure you will have a great day Keep reading the posts the dude Edited August 11, 2009 by the dude

Vitani
What makes some of these events free and some requiring an entry fee? Collectormania in Milton Keynes was free, so why is there a cost for this one?
Scruffy
What makes some of these events free and some requiring an entry fee? I think the fact that its in London in a main arena means it has to have a charge, just logical
Moderators DavidB Posted August 25, 2009 Moderators Share Posted August 25, 2009 MK was no doubt kept as free entry to encourage people to keep attending even with the venue change. LFCC has always done well with an entrance fee, so I have no doubt this event will do the same. And venue costs in London are probably far higher. KrazyKid197
Collectormania:MK was originally free because there was no way to police the entrance without blocking off the shops too, which obviously couldn't happen. Since MK is now out of the centre, I assume SM want to try and keep the business up. But MK is the only event they've ever had as free.
