I wouldn't say that. They have announced people during conventions before (well from recollection it happened once when they announced David Tennant ) At that time the schedules had been up for at least a week prior.

2 photoshoots so far for me... I ussually have 20+ so that says something about the line up for me, in the 10 years of attending the biggest con I have never, ever struggled to book a photoshoot or autograph. I ussually have to stop myself as I spend wayyy tooo much.... not this year I guess.

Same for me. In 10 years of LFCC too, it's gonna be the cheapest I will ever done by far

This is actually my busiest LFCC in about 5 years. I’ve skipped a few and I actually left one without meeting any guests and just a £40 Lego minifig to show for the trip.

So do i my friend because she is the only one im meeting because as has been pointed out there is a lack of massive guest announcements and i have only attended once since the Covid pandemic that was to meet Jodie Whittaker haven't been since then and im only going Friday to meet Denise but as i have the DP i will certainly get my money's worth get photo and auto with her so unless there are some real biggies announced in the next few days as it starts next Friday she is the only one im meeting!

I've just found the schedule for 2019 while packing for this years event they had 8 photo session booths that year compared to 2 this year

not entirely in the context of LFCC, as that much isnt clear, but the video seems to be an invite to see their collection of Bond photos and autographs. So are they bringing items in or just signing people up to their website

Same, where you'd have three shoots upstairs, one downstairs, and one at a random part of the hall. All in the space of 10-15 minutes

 Those where the days. Although  I think I got lucky with mine. (usually all on same floor or close to each other)

The only one I had a close call with was a Colin Baker in costume upstairs and one just before downstairs, timings were overlapping, but a hot day in July and trying to get from a to b through the crowd was a challenge. Managed it just.

Been thinking the same about Nightmare on Elm Street too. They seem to have given up after the 5 guests they announced (4 now).

I've been wondering how hard they've been hit by the pandemic (financially) or how much really is to blame on Olympia's works, but they haven't been able to draw in many big guests or the big crowds the last couple of years.

I also think there are simply too many Comic Cons nowadays.... So guests are now persuaded by whichever Cons pays the most. And Covid did startle certain guests I'd say to attend.

True, though I've got the impression that it's dwindled down to a few players in the UK who just organise the majority of the cons. But I agree it's just too much and especially with a huge increase in guests' prices, I'm not sure how feasible it'll remain.

I don't know how true this is, and I'd probably get in trouble for spreading rumours if mods were still active here, but I recently spoke with a collector & convention organiser who attends most cons around the UK and he (supposedly) has it on good authority that a lot of big names simply won't work with SM any more. He used the Joseph Quinn incident as just one example of why. Then there are guests who sign exclusive contracts with other companies like Monopoly Events that state they can ONLY appear at conventions held by those companies for the next x amount of months/years. Between contracts with other companies and guests who (again, supposedly) have blacklisted SM, it sounds like they're struggling.
