I was 65 in March, which makes me laugh when the question crops up at a DW gathering 'What episode was broadcast nearest to your birthday', because that would have been 'An Unearthly Child' & I would have been 2 years 8 months old.

Mine is the Armageddon Factor episode 3

I used to be very ginger, but it got darker as I got older. The goatee is somewhat ginger & white these day, as are the temples.

In my old age I'll be looking like Richard Martin, a former ginger.

In other news, thanks to 'Decathlon', I know have the rucksack with built in folding stool that I had been meaning to get for Olympia Cons for ages.

Shame there are no Olympia Cons to use it at.

I also bought a folding, waterproof rucksack that I can put in my Travel Rucksack, to use at events.

Similar, im more strawberry blonde than ginger these days.

But when I grow my beard out its very ginger with white streaks in it.

So its rare that I grow the beard out these days

I keep meaning to get one of those, and I mostly remember when im in the morning queue. Promising myself I'll order one when I get home and never do

Random DW sighting of the day, a gentleman in full 15th Doctor costume on the northbound platform of Surrey Quays station this morning.

Quite a bold look for a tuesda morning. Im guessing the Tardis was in the shop if he was taking the train

I now realise that I am in fact significantly younger than most Doctor who fans that I’m friends with, most my own age I tend to have strong disagreements towards the series with, usually my feeling of a lack of respect towards actors or the franchise

Makes me glad that the only preparation for LFCC id made was buying a CD that I can’t listen to yet as it’s at the tail end of a story arc, but 16 months means I can get the rest and listen to it, if not for the fact I can only fit another 20 CDs onto the shelf then I’m in trouble

FOLDING FISHING SEAT ESSENSEAT 100 TRAVEL | Decathlon

This is the one i got. Wore it home on the Overground & train without any problems. The rucksack takes an A4 Tuff Box no problem, though I'd always recommend trying whatever you're going to be carrying in on the one in the shop.

Obviously, I will have to see how it performs in action, but I'm not anticipating any problems.

Will be great to sit down anywhere during a long day at any event.

I hadn't done any preparation for LFCC prior to it being cancelled - not really any need to as they hadn't announced any guests I was interested in.

I'd gone to buy the folding rucksack, but realised when I there that they might have one or two rucksacks with folding stools.

It may not get a lot of use, but I'll be very glad of it when I do use it.

I’d bought the entry ticket, two photos and a CD, that’s about it, I don’t think I’d sunk too much into it, but still an early cancellation announcement would have changed this, CD would have been bought anyway, but probably not the tickets

I booked time off, and the hotel late last year. But not the entry ticket, which normally would have been the 1st thing booked. But that was it.

My boss is always nagging me to take more time off at end of year so a long weekend isn't end of world

Me and a coworker both agreed that because I now have no serious plans during June-August that the ball is now in works court if they now decide to put me down for everyday during that period, the money would be fantastic, and we’re now a staff member down, as a coworker failed a drug test, failed by refusal anyway

I'm half way through a 10 day stretch, which when I agreed to it was in part to get a bit of overtime for LFCC,

Before I retired, I never did any overtime to get money for events. Would rather cut back on the autos, though I suspect that my spending is/was much less than both of yours.

Shortly before I walked out of my final job, I did get told by the Night Manager that I couldn't book any more Saturday nights off, as that's all I used my holiday hours for, so I didn't need to go into work after a Saturday event, or before a Sunday one.

I don't know if any of my colleagues complained that they couldn't get Saturday night off because I'd got there first. Then again, I missed a few weekend events because too many people already had that weekend booked off.

The show wasnt the main reason for doing overtime, it just puts a bit of credit in the bank at work.

And with my luck with cars this year, pays for a few repairs

It’s rare I take the time off willingly, only time I’ve done it is for cons, signings or my Nans Funeral which the latter of all things was when work actually denied me the time off, which they claimed they’d already booked too many people off, and I protested that I doubt anyone had as good a reason, and in turn said that one coworker whose language in describing them would see me banned from here always took weekends off because he was lazy had no excuse, they shifted us around and he complained that he had to work, then someone told him why I was off and he was shut down very quickly, he’s not that liked so no one offered him sympathy.

End of the day, given my hours have fluctuated between near 40 and less than 25 the past few months, using 3 months where I could clock in a lot would be good news for me, just put the money into any signings, anything that comes up on eBay and Octobers event.

I am 90% convinced someone is out to get you, either that or you’re paying for something in a past life

Same, last few years I'm constantly being nagged at the end of year to use my holidays.

Pre covid, i used to take my birthday week off, couple of weeks around July, LFCC and then off to see a bit of the world. And typically 1st week in December.

Covid brought me back into my shell, and family circumstance mean it's not easy to get away, and this is not a complaint, but my dad going into a care home, means I have to take my mum into account for events and holidays. But she's enjoying it

If the quality of your enemies is simply messing with your car, you’ll be judged in the same manner as come dine with me
