Well my friend has done me one hell of a solid and now i definitely owe him one, he went to an event today and managed to get me Anneke Wills on 3 items, my copy of "The War Machines" on VHS which has both her and Michael Craze (Just need a time machine to go get Jackie Lane), Lost in time so now the only regular i'm missing is Jean Marsh, unlikely at best, but the space shall not be claimed if i can't and my copy of "The Light at the end" along with Janet Fielding on the same item, and also managed Philip Hinchcliffe on my Davros Collection Booklet which has done me one hell of a boost and not bad for £100.

it has also pushed my copy of Lost in time to 32 names, which is odd because i only remember 31 names being on the set.

Anneke seems to be doing more and more events for someone who has retired from attending them. And long may it continue.

I think we can safely say, Jean is not going to sign again ever via private signing or in person sadly

With the some item I have Jean marsh on (which was an eBay purchase) I can say I am contempt with what it is as I do have Peter Purves and Nicholas Courtney on it as well (and Michael E Briant) so I won’t complain about if I have to settle for that.

in an ideal world I’d also get her on Lost in time and “Battlefield” but the odds of that are slimmer than anything, I would of course love if I could but the odds are slim to none.

on another note elsewhere has announced Fiona Walker which has me excited for two combinations I can work on

I splurged on a dual signed Sylvester McCoy and Jean Marsh photo when they were having their lockdown sales. So I have her on that.

I saw, shes at the film fair as well this weekend, but I'm working, but she'll be added to both the Keys of Marinus and starts my Silver Nemesis

Not too shabby, by all accounts I’m looking forward to it all come March, but before then I do have something big to do in the personal life

With a pedigree that tops doctor who and more franchises under his belt than the Disney Company, Julian Glover made his Debut in Doctor who as King Richard The Lion-hart opposite William Hartnell in the 1965 story "The Crusade" before some 14 years later he would then portray Scaroth the last of the Jaggeroth in the Tom Baker Serial "City of Death", he is of course best known for many other roles in numerous franchises such as Star Wars, Game of Thrones and Indiana Jones.

for Doctor who fans he is also the Patriarch of a Who Family, his wife Isla Blair appeared in "The Kings Demons" and many Audios for Big Finish, whilst his Son Jamie Glover would play William Russell in "An adventure in space and time" before playing Ian Chesterton in "The First Doctor Adventures" series, and his daughter in Law Sasha Behar was Spurrina in "The Fires of Pompeii".

For Mr Glover you'll need

"The Crusade" (VHS or CD, maybe even the VHS CD?)

"City of Death"

Lost in Time

The Collection Season 2

The Collection Season 17.

Julian is attending on the Saturday Only and is £30 for his autograph or Photo.

for me all i have is Season 17 so thats what I'm going for.

Appearing in the latest Episode of the series "Joy to the world" the 2024 Christmas Special Steph De Whalley portrayed Anita Benn the owner of the Hotel that the Doctor found himself employed for a year in, and in my opinion was the true companion of the episode.

StephDeWhalleyWeb.png

De Whalley is appearing on the Sunday and is £15 for her auto graph or Photo.

of course as with Phil Baxter whilst the standalone special will be available prior to the series 15 boxset she is at a chance of being a one and done, and because there are now two actors from the episode attending i shall be getting the Blu Ray for them both, and in the case of Ms De Whalley i am going to get a photo.

Well we did say if they could get more from Joy to the World, it would lead us to difficult decisions on what to get signed. Not so much for me as she'll be going in the diary of course, But like you, I See her as a bona fida companion of the episode, and hopefully she returns to the show.  So she'll also be going on my 15th Doctor poster as well

in terms of the episode Joy knew the Doctor for what can only amount to maybe 2 hours tops and spent only half as much time with him, whilst Anita spent an entire year with him at the hotel.

but in terms of getting something signed i will likely get the Blu Ray now, which kind of makes me consider putting down for Millies Milton Keynes diamond pass to have another big name on the set, but even then i'd probably put "The Church on Ruby Road" over "Joy to the World" as i do have four cast members of that already.

Thankfully the Blu ray which is already in Preorder is only £10 so no big deal really

Well to be the bearer of bad news Donald Pelmear has passed away, it happened on the 11th of January this year at the age of 100, that’s two centurions of Doctor who within 3 months.

the mad man was still attending events at the age of 99

Honestly Donald did so much at the age of 98 that most guests don’t even do at 1/4 that age, where he said “what would you like, just my name, the characters name or your name” and was then ecstatic when you asked for all 3, he was to me a shining example that old age doesn’t have to get you down, and the fact he carried on doing events for as long as he could, rip rubish (Donald)

Laurie Webb played 9 holes of golf for charity a couple of days after his 100th birthday. So like Donald it just shows age is just a number for some people

That’s true some people refuse to let it get to them.

So I managed to get a full sweep of everything I was after over the weekend, some people were furious about my choice of item for Paul Anderson, and tbh he didn’t seem to listen to me saying small so I can get other people on the part of the DVD and now anyone else from “the Christmas invasion” and “new earth” is going in the booklet.

finally after so many years got Janet Fielding on my Earthshock set, where immediately upon seeing it cursed out Sarah Sutton for signing so big leaving no space for her, such a Tegan thing, but she was so lovely, especially during the photo because the height difference is around a foot and she grinned in the first photo so I just patted her head, and got a playful punch in the arm for it, again such a Tegan thing, but she saw me on the second day and said hi so that was lovely.

Kai Owen definitely took a liking to me as he said he wanted to see me on the second day because he felt my name was unique enough that he wanted to see if anyone beat it, they didn’t.

Haha, she had a right old chuckle last year, when she saw she could sign my poster before Sarah, saying she had plenty of space without her hogging it. And then cursed me when when saw my Power of the Doctor Steelbook with me looking sheepish about the space available. She was did laugh though about it mind.

Should I have the chance again at a later event I’ll have to bring something for her to hog signing wise, dunno what tho as I have no idea what I’d prefer her on now that I have the 5 main items I was after done so no clue, maybe “Kinda” as if she sees my “Four to doomsday” she’ll flip

I want to see her reaction if Peter hogged where she wanted to sign I'm sure she'd have a few choice words for or about him. Good job we all no it's all good spirited and nothing more

Well, I'm not going to go into details here, but after the last year of hell on a personal level.

I've convinced my mum, we both need a weekend in London so she's coming to LFCC with me, so hotel booked for the pair of us. Even if she stays at hotel and watches Saturday kitchen, whilst I do what I need to do.  she gets a much needed weekend away

Also helped that my spring tickets rolled over as well

I think next time around with Janet I’d go for “Timeflight” and tell Matthew Waterhouse to get in the back as he’s finished by that point… wait

i think she realised after getting to some of my items that I was a truly dedicated collector when she saw some of my signed stuff, and was really nice about it when she signed my Dalek Collection, especially as the front where I wanted the main lot were didn’t have a lot of space (only two names left for that side, being Matthew Waterhouse and Terry Molloy) she still went and signed it despite Peter and Sylvester taking up a lot of space.

That always works and you do what you gotta do, I need to sort out July either way but not likely until March minus tickets if I have the money of course

It was a case of striking whilst the iron was hot, as I knew the longer I left it the harder it was getting to convince her.

But at least that bit is sorted, now just need to raise the spending money
