I would contact your old bank and find out if the refund will fail or go into a 'ghost' account (I had a 'ghost' credit card for a while when a refund was made to it, the bank it was with transferred it to my bank by me calling them up). If the refund will just fail then contact the shop.

Contact the shop please. Shop and not Eventbrite, they need to instruct Eventbrite as far as I know

Thanks to you and @etmuse I'm writing an email to the shop now and will contact the bank tomorrow.
