Fourth Wave of Comic Creators Announced for LFCC

Emma Vieceli (Back To The Future, Doctor Who, Breaks) (All Days)

Collaborating with the biggest publishers in the world, Emma worked on a variety of books, including the New York Times-bestselling VAMPIRE ACADEMY graphic novel series for Penguin Random House, and the critically acclaimed independent web series, BREAKS with co-creator Malin Ryden.

She is currently diving back into the world of long-form graphic novels, returning the ALEX RIDER series for Walker books, after spending a couple of years ticking some comic life-goal boxes by working on SUPERGIRL (DC), JEM & THE HOLOGRAMS (IDW), DOCTOR WHO (Titan comics) and BACK TO THE FUTURE (IDW).  Alongside comics, she worked on the A&E television series, BARES MOTEL, providing the sketchbook found by Norman Bates.

When she's not drawing stories on the page, she's performing them on the stage; anyone would think she was trying to escape reality!

Nick Roche (Transformers, Death's Head, Monster Motors) (Sat / Sun)

Nick Roche is a writer/artist best known for helping IDW Publishing's TRANSFORMERS reach widespread critical acclaim, most notably with the WRECKERS SAGA (Last Stand of The Wreckers, co-written with James Roberts, was selected as IGN.com's 'Best Transformers Comic Of All Time') and his contribution to MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE.


When not in deep space with giant robots, Nick has also worked with Marvel Comics on DEATH'S HEAD and NEW WARRIORS, co-created horror comedy comic MONSTER MOTORS with 'Minions' screenwriter Brian Lynch, and provided music video artwork and album cover design for rock band, The Darkness

Nick is currently working on creator-owned material and providing covers for Marvel Comics (DEADPOOL, STAR WARS) and for multiple IDW and Titan Comics titles.

David Leach (Doctor Who, X-Men, Batman) (All Days)

Currently an Editor for Titan Publishing, David’s career as a cartoonist, writer and editor spans over 30 years, starting as the 'ghost artist' of HENRY'S CAT.

Among many others, he’s worked for IPC, Marvel UK, Marvel US, BBC Worldwide, Panini, Egmont, Tundra, and Fleetway. His work has appeared in The Sunday Times, The Daily Telegraph, The Sun and Private Eye as well as WHIZZER & CHIPS, GAS, BRAIN DAMAGE, UT, MOOSE KID, CASPER and also within the pages of 1980s cult comics, TOXIC! and OINK! where he created PSYCHO GRAN and THE DINNER LADIES FROM HELL. In addition to this, David co-wrote and drew THE TOXIC CRUSADERS for Marvel. 

In his role as editor for Titan Comics, he works on a variety of titles including THE BLACKLIST, ANNO DRACULA, HAMMER’S THE MUMMY, CAPTAIN KRONOS, LENORE, FIGHTING AMERICAN, DAN DARE, WALLACE & GROMIT and ADVENTURE TIME. He’s also edited collections of vintage comic strips including BETTY BOOP, MANDRAKE THE MAGICIAN, FLASH GORDON, JANE and ROY OF THE ROVERS.

In 2014 Dead Universe Comics published the first two issues of DAVID LEACH CONQUERS THE UNIVERSE, David’s autobiographical comic and in 2016 they published the first issue of PSYCHO GRAN VS… a new four-issue mini-series featuring Psycho Gran fighting various movie and comic book characters.

Outside of comics, in 2013 David co-won Channel Four’s Come Dine With Me.

Lew Stringer (Beano, Dandy, Doctor Who) (All Days)

Lew Stringer began his career in comics in 1983, creating humour strips for Marvel UK titles such as THE DAREDEVILS, SPIDER-MAN, and THE TRANSFORMERS. He swiftly expanded his portfolio to freelance for IPC and other companies on OINK!, BUSTER, VIZ, and many other publications for a range of age groups.

His most popular characters include COMBAT COLIN, TOM THUG, PETE AND HIS PIMPLE, ROBO-CAPERS, and many more. 

Over the last three decades, Lew has created strips both as a writer and artist for numerous mainstream publications in the UK as well as occasionally generating his own self-published comics.

Internationally, Lew produced a series of BRICKMAN strips for Image Comics' ELEPHANTMEN, back up comic-horror pages for Dark Horse's GRINDHOUSE, and created THE SUBURBAN SATANISTS for the Scandinavian comic HERMAN HEDNING. 

In more recent times, Lew has worked on legendary British comics THE DANDY and THE BEANO, along with DOCTOR WHO MAGAZINE, TOXIC, and EPIC magazines.

Andy Briggs (Tarzan, Ritual, Kong, Hero.Com) (Saturday / Sunday)

Andy is a screenwriter, graphic novelist, author and conservationist - writing on movie projects such as JUDGE DREDD, FREDDY VS JASON and FOREVERMAN for Paramount Pictures, Spiderman creator Stan Lee and legendary producer Robert Evans. He has worked on TV projects for Syfy, Netflix, ITV and Amazon.

Andy went on to work on Warner Bros animated AQUAMAN - while at the same time landing an eight-book deal with Oxford University Press for HERO.COM and VILLAIN.NET. His comics and graphic novels include MADISON DARK, RITUAL and DINOCORPS. 

He wrote wrote and Executively Produced LEGENDARY starring Scott Adkins and Dolph Lungdren. In 2017 his latest movie, CROWHURST (directed by Simon Rumley) will be released and both WAR WOLF (directed by Simon West) and GOLDEN AGE (directed by Steve Barron) will enter production.

He has rebooted the classic character TARZAN, with a series of contemporary books TARZAN: THE GREYSTOKE LEGACY, TARZAN: THE JUNGLE WARRIOR and TARZAN: THE SAVAGE LANDS.  His latest series of middle grade novels, THE INVENTORY are published by Scholastic.

Lee Sullivan (Doctor Who, Rivers Of London, Robocop) (All Days)

Lee Sullivan trained as a wildlife and technical illustrator then spent five years as a graphic artist for British Aerospace before going freelance, working in advertising and publishing.
 
Artist for numerous DOCTOR WHO publications since 1988, he became well-known for his drawings of the Daleks, and recently completed the TV21 DALEK CHRONICLES for ‘Vworp Vworp’ Magazine. Comic strip work also includesTRANSFORMERS, ROBOCOP, WILLIAM SHATNER'S TEKWORLD,  2000AD, the Radio Times DOCTOR WHO strip, THE AMULET OF SAMARKAND graphic novel; THUNDERBIRDS Magazine, the Royal Mail's Prestige DOCTOR WHO Stamp Book and a variety of BBC annuals and webcasts. His artwork appeared in the DOCTOR WHO episode ‘Time Heist’.
 
Lee is cover artist for various reprints of TV21's 1960s Gerry Anderson comic strip stories, and has worked on packaging artwork for Big Chief Studios forthcoming range of THUNDERBIRDS andCAPTAIN SCARLET action figures, the latter giving him an opportunity to collaborate with friend and comic-strip artist hero, TV21’s Mike Noble.
 
Since 2015 Lee has been artist on RIVERS OF LONDON for Titan Comics, which is a continuation of Ben Aaronovitch's successful novels featuring Peter Grant. Scripted by Ben and Andrew Cartmel, the series is also collected as a series of graphic novels.

Kieron Gillen (Wicked + Divine, Darth Vader, Iron Man) (Sunday Only)

Bursting onto the comic scene in 2006 with PHONOGRAM: RUE BRITANNIA, a collaboration with Jamie McKelvie, the creative team (with Matt Wilson) were quickly snapped up by Marvel, launching YOUNG AVENGERS  for Marvel. 

For Marvel, Gillen would go on to write STAR WARS: DARTH VADER (creating the fan favourite DOCTOR APHRA), UNCANNY X-MEN, IRON MAN, THOR and JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY among others, while creating (for a variety of other publishers) UBER, THREE, MERCURY HEAT, THE MODDED, the forthcoming THE LUDOCRATS, and launching the award-winning THE WICKED + THE DIVINE, once more with McKelvie and Wilson for Image Comics.

Outside of comics, Gillen is also a computer games and music journalist who has worked for a lengthy list of publications, including PC Gamer UK, The Escapist, Amiga Power, Wired, The Guardian newspaper, Edge, Games Developer, Develop, MCV, Gamesmaster and PC Format among others.

I enjoyed reading Wicked + Divine will definitely Try to meet Kieron Gillen :) sad he is only doing Sunday though, but is better than not at all :)  I am also intrigued about the FatMan On BatMan talk :)
