jhw
So, as Martin will be in London starring in a new play when Sherlocked Con is happening, and not off filming in far off lands, does this increase the chances of getting him as a guest at Sherlocked Con in October? I mean sure, he's clearly busy on the Saturday, but his show is dark on Sundays, and it's not a long train ride to Birmingham. *fingers crossed* And in case people haven't heard, he's in Labour of Love from Sept 15th through Dec. 2nd at the Noel Coward Theatre labouroflovetheplay.co.uk/
Raylenth
We'll all it really means is that we know he will deffo be in the area. I suppose it raises the chances of him attending from maybe 1% to 2%?
maggiem
All I know is I've booked my ticket for the play on 30/09/17. Anyone else going?

Littlemisstrouble6179
I can't book until next week but will be going - does anyone know if he does stage door signing?
Raylenth
He has in the past, I was unlucky the night I was at Richard III as he had to go straight away and I know he's signed at other live events he's done. The question is whether he will sign non play related stuff. We will only find that out once someone's tried I guess.

jhw
He seemed to sign about 2 nights out of 6 at Richard III. And even if it only increases the chances of him doing Sherlocked Con by 1-2%, that's still an increase!
evilfairie
I can make the matinee of the 1st November. 3rd or 4th row is available for £67.50, hmmm, do I go for it? I think they'll be zero chance of meeting him after a matinee but that's ok.
jhw
I'm pretty sure he only signed after the evening performance for Richard. Any chance you could go back on another, different night just for stage door?
evilfairie
Nah, I live too far away and they'd still be no guarantee he'd sign on the night I picked. I think just the experience of seeing him in a play would be good enough,
jhw
You live too far away...I live in Idaho near the Canadian border. But you never know, he may sign more often for this play. Maybe wait and see what he does in the first few weeks of the run and then think about it.
evilfairie
Haha, yes but you'll be in London so in theory you'll be living nearer I decided to book anyway, I'm going for the pleasure of seeing him act etc, If anyone hears of him signing after a matinee I'd give it a go but otherwise I'll not bother waiting. minchb
I'd suggest trying to get him at stage door when the show starts its first couple of weeks as from previous experience, some of the stars do less as the weeks go along :)

JillR
I'm thinking that as the play is in London and the con is in Birmingham, the chances of him giving up his day off to travel to the con are pretty low. If nothing else, he will probably want to save his voice.
Raylenth
Who knows, time will tell! Personally I do think it makes it slightly more likely, he's in country, in the area and not going to get called away for/tied up with filming or anything but lets not forget we are talking degrees of miniscule possibility anyway.
