Mads Mikkelsen appreciation thread!

I saw Mads on Friday and he was absolutely lovely. I'm sometimes a bit unsure about asking people for a "hug" photo but he did it happily. He was also really friendly and approachable when getting autos. I know his willingness to do selfies on the Friday probably slowed the queue down a lot, but it was great to see someone so enthusiastic about meeting their fans.

My friend got a great hug with him too (I didn't ask, but had seen others getting one, so told her beforehand that he was happy to do that so she went for it. :D )

He was busy when I met him, but still had time to personalize and I managed to have a few words with him about Flame and Citron, which I'd watched without realizing his brother Lars is also in it, so he was all, "Oh, yes! He had a cameo in it!" which was nice. Also, his sunglasses were really cool. [/random] Very enjoyable meeting him.

He knew how to spell my name off the top of his head and seemed confused when I told him people usually misspell or mispronounce it. Then he asked if my name has ever been pronounced 'Mads'. No, no it has not. He is pure gold inside and out. My brain is still crying.

Mads was a fab guest to meet and I have a wee story!!

About 10:30pm Thursday after organising the successful Thursday meet-up thread I toddled home from the pub in my 4" heels back to the hotel not entirely sober. As I stood waiting for the lift looking slightly worse for wear I may add Mads walked into the hotel and I bumped into him with my drunken legs. I didn't actually manage to form any words to speak to him it came out more a gurgle as I stood staring aghast, I couldn't even move my legs to actually get in the lift with him and waited for another one... 😂

Fast forward to Friday morning where I met him for an autograph. I felt I had to mention the night before so the conversation went something like this.

I said very politely "I'm sorry I think I may have bumped into you late last night at the hotel" Mads: "yeah were you at the Hilton at the lifts? I was outside having a cigarette" Oh god....

Me: "yeah...sorry I tried to speak but couldn't"

Mads: "aaaahh so you were drunk"

We laughed, I turned red, spouted a lot of rubbish and then tried to get a selfie and my eyes are betraying me and look drunk...again.

Lovely guest :)

Yep, met him Saturday afternoon and I think they had him scheduled to return at 2:55pm. He appeared at about 3-3:05 and he actually apologised for being slightly late. Could tell he was just a genuinely lovely guy, took time to interact properly with all the fans ahead of me (and me also).

Pleasure to meet him.

I love this little story... and I too would have waited for the next lift; I just don't think I could have physically walked into the same lift! I saw him a few times in the Hotel bar enjoying a late night supper or a pint. Though alas no little stories to tell... other than he looked amazingly handsome!

Mads really was a top guest and so lovely to everyone in the photoshoots, happily accommodating people's requests for lots of different poses. I really enjoyed my 2 photoshoots with him as he is just so down-to-earth and easy to speak to. I got a hug and a pretending to dance shot and I'm a very happy girl! :D

Have to join this thread as he was brilliant. He was my top guest for the day but will admit to letting my girlfriend go in for her photoshoot first as I got nervous as soon as I saw him...is Hannibal Lecter after all  He was so friendly and warm, was an absolute pleasure to meet, and I think he knew my heart was about to come out of my chest. Even when signing later on with a million people in his Q, he was great. I know I shouldn't but can SM try for Hugh Dancy in 2017?

I wasn't planning to meet him originally. However I changed my mind at the last minute and bought a Hannibal Funko from one of the stalls for him to sign. Although I didn't have much to say to him, he was genuinely interested in you as a fan. He asked me what I'd brought for him to sign. I'm not sure he's seen himself immortalized in plastic previously. He signed the back for me, shook my hand. Thanked me for me saying that I was looking forwards to Rogue One. Shame that some other guests weren't more like him!

Guest of the weekend for me - totally worth it. So glad I met him on the Friday and got the autographs too. A really down to earth guy who seemed to actually be enjoying himself, charismatic and very funny too

I'm just glad that 'Larsy' couldn't persuade me to repeat a Danish phrase to Mads in person, of course he swore at the time that it was perfectly humble and polite.... :firedevil:

Mads was lovely! I had my photoshoot with him on the Friday, I remember seeing him in the queue and my knees went weak  When I went up for my photo he shook my hand and I accidently stepped on his foot!!! If he noticed he didn't say anything, I was shaking so much! He's so lovely and warm  I also got my auto with him on the Friday and managed to get another picture at the auto table! On the Sunday I went to his talk and I was in the front row (Diamond pass) His talk was so goooood and he's so funny and omg I'm in love

Mads was one of the nicest guests i've EVER met. Had my photo with him quite early on Fri. He said hi and shook my hand both before and after the photo. I said it was a pleasure to meet him and he said "likewise" which I thought was nice.

Then on Fri afternoon I got his autograph where I was able to get another photo at the table. He seemed really humbled by the things I said to him about his career and talent. I got him to sign my Rogue One mini-poster and we had a funny moment where he was like "erm...what's my character name in this one again?" & I had to tell him lol! He was like, "I'm getting so confused switching between Star Wars, Hannibal, Casino Royale and Doctor Strange" and was still chuckling away to himself. A great moment and a truly wonderful human being. Would absolutely meet him again.

I met him first in front of Hilton, saturday morning, on my way to the Con. I'm quite shy normally, but wasn't sure to get a chance like this again. So I asked for a picture, and he was like "of course". Happy me! 😂

Then I met him later saturday, at the Con. I wasn't planning meeting him as he was an (almost sold out) Diamond Pass guest, and I didn't had a Diamond Pass for him. But there was no queue, so I took my chance. He was sooo down to earth, a real pleasure for a fan! We had a little talk (in Danish) about some of the Danish movies he's in, and about that I not have watched Hannibal yet (shame on me 😉). Then we exchanged our experience from the Con. and he (like myself) thought it was fantastic. And he loved to meet so many great fans!

Fantastic guest!!!
