Schedule/Floor plan

Recommended Posts

Two weeks early was unusually early. One of the reasons for that was because the summer show is the biggest show of them all.

Normally yes, the schedule does go up about a week before the show. If we're lucky 10 days, but that will not happen this time. I'd expect it Wednesday next week, but that is just a personal guess.

You need to ask SM crew, not venue staff. That was part of the problem last year.

Once the crew is back hopefully at least the locations of the photoshoot areas should be posted. But exact guest locations (like where Tom is sitting) are pretty much never posted at the smaller events.

The layout is pretty straightforward - as you go in you'll have the vehicle (The Mystery Machine this year!) in front of you, and there'll be stalls to the left and right both along the walls and then stretching into the main arena space. The guests are always towards the rear of the arena - some in a central 'island', the others ranged along the back wall. There's usually a large open area between them and the front of the hall which gets packed with amazing cosplayers, so there's always something fab in the vicinity!

Photo shoots and talks are usually upstairs (the Speeder shoot might be in the foyer - the prop shoots tend to be there) - the Showmasters team can point you in the right direction. The team's usually located opposite the guest tables towards the front of the hall, facing inwards. There are generally signs up, and you can access the upper floors via stairs and lifts from each of the four corners of the main arena.

The cloakroom is also usually upstairs on the first floor.

I rather like not having a floor plan - it makes everything such an exciting discovery!

Each show so far the guest photoshoots have been on floor 1 plus there has been a gaming area (I've not read if that's here this time)

Floor 2 have been the guest talks and cosplay/talks/masquerade.

The personnel that are sat on chairs on each level are venue staff/security. Showmasters crew are usually in blue or red crew shirts. There are usually posters on both stairwells indicating what is on each level.

If you have an entry ticket you will. There won't be a queue at that point, the standard entry go in at 11 am so the main entry queue's will have all gone in by 12.30. If you don;t have an entry ticket yet I believe they are selling tickets on the door so you should be fine and they shouldn't sell out on the entry tickets but please bear in mind that's not a guarantee.
