Hey Local Brightonneers?/Brightons?/Brightonians?/Brights?/Brightillians

We're looking at making reservations at a decent establishment in Brighton that also offers some vegetarian options (one of our guests is Vegetarian) - any recommenations for restaurants close to the venue (w/o the uber-extortionate prices those "touristy" places offer...) thanks!

If you Google the local tourist board that will provide the relevant details

the local tourist board will not provide personal experience, which is why we're asking :) - we have (of course) googled restaurants but would like to know people's preferences

With your second post I now understand your request more clearly. There are local reviews websites as well with personal reviews from people who have used them.

This is my list of places I want to go but don't have the income for because living in Brighton is not the cheapest thing ever.

Have you tried Murasaki? It's a bit of a trek and it costs more but (sorry Pom Poko) their takoyaki is much better. It's not drowned in sauce like the ones you get at Pom Poko. I might maybe sneak into Pom Poko on Friday at lunch because it's pay day this week. Could go for some ebi fried!

I haven't, actually, but since I live near Hove station, it's not out of my way at all. I'll have to pay it a visit. Thanks.

No worries. And they do this thing in London in November called the Hyper Japan Christmas Market. It might be a little late to get tickets this time around but I mostly go for the street food stalls, anyway.

Do you know about E-Kagen? It's 5 Fenchurch Walk, just down from Brighton station. http://ekagen.mitsu-hide.com/shop.html

They sell these http://www.senjukitaya.com/

And beer, mochi, found curry pan there once...

I can vouch for Burger brother and China garden :)

Maybe I can (not so subtly) hint to my other half that we're due a meal out soon.

(Also if anyone sees me at the show feel free to say hello. I'll be the chubby one in a Toothless hoodie wanting to buy all of the things.)
