Share those surreal moments you just couldn't make up

Recommended Posts

My strangest moment happened on Friday when I was just minding my own business and all of a sudden Robert Englund came up to me to ask me where his photoshoot stall was. Him and the crew member accompanying him both couldn't find it so I had to explain Englund where he had to be.

I would have loved to talk about that afterwards but sadly I never got to his table cause too many diamond and gold passes. Thinking about it afterwards I maybe should have asked for a selfie in return for my help :P

There were a few for me

1- bumping in to Robert Englund and him saying how he can't find his photoshoot area first thing on Friday

2- Me looking lost in a random corridor and a guy dressed as daredevil showing me which way to go, as I walked off he shouted 'I'm blind yet can still find my way around better than you'

3- getting in a lift with Animal and Brutus Beefcake on their way to a photoshoot and Brutus making fart noises in the lift to make everyone laugh.

I bloody love comic con

Did Englund ask you for directions too? Did the same with me poor guy :D

Just after getting Bill Paxton's VQ ticket and wondering if I will get to meet him on Saturday as I had 495, I looked up and seen him walking towards me and he smiled at me first and I duly smiled back with a " are you alright mate" in my Nottinghamshire accent, he politely replied with a "not bad thank you!" in his unique tone.

I thought to myself if I don't get to get his autograph at least I can say I have seen him and spoken to him, however brief.

Later on in the day to my absolute astonishment I actually saw him again with Sigourney Weaver being escorted to the lifts and I got a couple of snaps of them together so again I thought if I don't meet either/both later I can say I've seen them.

However it turns out I actually ended meeting them both for autographs and it just added to an already amazing day!

My surreal moment was standing in the entrance to Stage 2 with Christopher Lloyd and Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom)

Was Matthew Lewis there? Why didn't they put his ass behind a signing table! :P

Yeah, he came with a friend who is a fan. They came with Christopher Lloyd to the stage entrance.

Walking around with my mate Luke. Seeing about 9 cosplayers dressed like the 10th and 11th Doctor's at a stall, man walks past them that they clearly see as a few say 'sorry mate' and move to the side.

I look at them, laugh and walk up to the man just looking at the stall next to them. I didnt want to make a fuss asclearly he was there to enjoy the con.

Me: 'excuse me'

Man: 'yes?'

Me: 'just want to say I really like your work'

Man(smiling): 'thank you!!

We shake hands and both walk away. The 'Doctors' still not paying attention. I laugh to my friend who goes 'who was that' I reply 'oh Stephen Moffatt, the man in charge of Doctor Who at the moment'

I saw him too and shook his hand and also said enjoy his work. Really nice man!

Leaving the MJF talk on Sat I feel a tap on the shoulder and asked how was the Mike talk then to find Marc McClure looking at me smiling. I replied as calmly as I could then my friend started going on and on about the talk not realising who it was.

Sometimes they just want to enjoy it themselves. Moffat was wondering around, too.

Exactly, they came as attendees not as guests. It is great that they felt comfortable walking around, enjoying the show.

a bit surreal to do your stuff with Strickland right there next to you doing his thing......

Got my poster signed by Robert Englundand took some pictures with him, and as I was leaving he pulled me back in and whispered in my ear "The camera loves you!" Kept repeating it as I was leaving. I took it as a compliment :P

Meeting Lea Thompson, Neve Campbell, Christopher Lloyd, Sigourney Weaver, Robert Englund and Michael J. Fox - some of my favourite celebs and icons from my favourite films. Just surreal. I never thought in a million years THAT would happen - these are memories to be treasured forever.

It was my first con as well and hopefully one of many more to come - was just awesome and given me a little bit of a new lease on life as I am kinda a loner really and enjoy my own company, but this has certainly broadened my horizons and it was just so lovely to meet those fab guests and also people who had come to meet the celebs - everyone I met, bar the odd non-sociable person, was really great and made the queueing bearable, but in truth, there wasn't much to bear. The queues ran smoothly for the most part.

A lot of effort went into the weekend and I just thought that the whole thing was just pure madness, but in a good way. It was also great to get autographs from guests who weren't part of my photo shoots, such as Frances Lee McCain (she was lovely), Zach Galligan (polite but not very forthcoming really) and Robert Englund (loved how he asked how to spell my name R-O-B-I-N haha).

Won't be forgetting this weekend in a hurry, for all the right reasons. Everything went smoothly, it was quite a surprise, to be honest. I say that because sometimes you do experience problems at big events, but I experienced very little. The only problems I experienced was that I was unable to get a tombstone photo and didn't collect my goody bag, but it hardly put a dampener on what was a terrific weekend.

Long may London Film and Comic Con continue - can't wait to see how they will make it bigger next year - so many opportunities to explore and anniversaries of films, too. Will keep my eyes open with great interest.

We were in a queue - me, and my teenage son who was dressed as Skaara from Stargate. Bloke stops, asks my kid for a photo with him, I look up, double-take and blurt out OH MY GOD, as the bloke is Alexis Cruz. (I managed to recover, apologise for the blurted-OMG and ask if it's ok for me to take a photo of them together, too.)

It was such a kind thing for him to do, and it totally made my kid's weekend. We had no idea he was there!

(Props, too, to the absolutely lovely group of grown-up Stargate cosplayers who earlier on had "adopted" my kid for the duration of a photoshoot. They were so kind to him. One of them lent him a zat and he thought it SO COOL.)

for me it had to be while i was waiting in the queue for Jodi O'Keefe. Jeffrey Weissman's shoot was before and the Showmasters guy was shouting "Any more for Jeffery!" as Jeffery walked up, he tapped him on the shoulder and i said "i'm here for Jeffery" then continued to join the back of the queue. I dont this the SM guy knew who he was and Jeff sat at the back of the queue for a couple of minutes with his arms folded and then took a few photos with fans before the shoot lol.

Oh please tell me this wasn't in Photo F on Saturday???? If it was, 1) I am missing a significant chunk of memory, and 2) I'll die of embarrassment!!!!

Having Tom Walker from Daredevil say 'wooow awesome costume' to my Marty Mcfly radiation suit as I was walking past, he then began quoting back to the future to me and afterwards gave me a high five. He said 'best costume here' :D made the whole thing totally worth making just for that

Michael J Fox saying to me "I like your dress" was probably my most surreal moment!

Aside from that though, on the Sunday evening after we left and went to the pub across the road, none other than Donald Fullilove (Goldie Wilson) came in and stood next to me at the bar. I spoke to him briefly and went and sat down. I couldn't help but keep looking over at him! So he came over to me and my sis and said "come on let's have a selfie then"! I gave him my phone and he took the photo (he missed half his face off the shot but never mind!) Was a nice end to an amazing weekend!!
