Share those surreal moments you just couldn't make up

Recommended Posts

Reflecting on a fantastic weekend at my first ever convention, I think the things I will remember the longest are those random, bizarre moments, like the look on my 2 year olds face when freddy Kruger held the door open for her, taking a pee next to captain America or sharing a lift with a storm trooper. Anyone else care to share their memorable moments?!

I have a habit of either missing someone walk RIGHT past me, or nearly walking into them.

So, in regular fashion I almost walked smack bang into Bill Paxton, I almost trod on Sigourney Weaver apparently and nearly walked into Michael Gambon whilst he was having a cig outside pizza express :P

MJF commenting on my band tee and had (very brief) chat with him as it turned out we both like the band. It wasn't too lengthy so didn't cause anyone issues and he started the conversation. For me to have a band convo with one of favourite film stars was amazing.

I also bumped into Christopher Lloyd on the stairway and he said hello.

For me it was the guy tripping out at the first Christopher Lloyd photoshoot. He was just so amazed that this was Doc Brown, man! He went back to 1885, man! And now he was here, man! And this was a picture of him, man! Etc....

I must say I was very impressed with (and a little overwhelmed by)his enthusiasm, and I hope he managed to get an autograph and meet his idol again.

MJF I thought was amazing. Even though everything was hurried along. It never felt rushed, looked everyone in the eye and asked how they were. True legend. Could have been sign item and move on or little acknowledgement in photo shoots but he made a genuine effort to talk to everyone that I saw. again absolute legend

Me too, Oblivious should be my middle name, however I did manage to notice Bill Paxton walking up the stairs when I was going down on my way out. There were very few others on the stairs and what drew even my attention was a group of people all bunched up together which I thought was strange as there was almost no one else there. It made me look and realise it was someone being escorted by security and crew and focused enough in that fleeting moment to realise it was him!

On Saturday to get from the 1st floor to the 3rd me & a small group had to jump in a lift that was going down to the ground floor before heading back up. The lift doors open on the ground floor & in steps Kristian Nairn. Big man, known face, small lift, little space equals instant silence. As the doors close & the lift heads up a small voice from the back whispers "Hodor".

A first class had to be there moment.

Met Dorean Grey on the stairwell and told him loved Penny Dreadful. He thanked me. It was though I was he only person to recognise him.

I actually went to use the toilets and he was using the other urinal. I wasn't sure whether it was really him or a cosplayer because of the way he dressed and how young he looks. I later saw photos on twitter that confirmed I was looking at the real guy. Haha.

Not to bring the tone down but please tell me the Twitter photo wasn't from in the toilet?!

My sister met Zach Galligan (gremlins) it's like her all time favourite movie and she was so excited to meet him she literally started shaking, so zach galligan came round from his table and gave her a hug to try calm her down, which naturally made her ten times worse! He was so nice it Made her first con experience so special :-)

Walking around with my mate Luke. Seeing about 9 cosplayers dressed like the 10th and 11th Doctor's at a stall, man walks past them that they clearly see as a few say 'sorry mate' and move to the side.

I look at them, laugh and walk up to the man just looking at the stall next to them. I didnt want to make a fuss asclearly he was there to enjoy the con.

Me: 'excuse me'

Man: 'yes?'

Me: 'just want to say I really like your work'

Man(smiling): 'thank you!!

We shake hands and both walk away. The 'Doctors' still not paying attention. I laugh to my friend who goes 'who was that' I reply 'oh Stephen Moffatt, the man in charge of Doctor Who at the moment'

for me it had to be while i was waiting in the queue for Jodi O'Keefe. Jeffrey Weissman's shoot was before and the Showmasters guy was shouting "Any more for Jeffery!" as Jeffery walked up, he tapped him on the shoulder and i said "i'm here for Jeffery" then continued to join the back of the queue. I dont this the SM guy knew who he was and Jeff sat at the back of the queue for a couple of minutes with his arms folded and then took a few photos with fans before the shoot lol.

Looking for Robert englund's autograph area....

"Where's Robert Englund?"

Suddenly behind us 'Helllooo'

And it was Robert! Walking the floor to get to his table.

Saw a lot of stars walking the floor

We also saw Christopher Lloyd having a fag break by the entrance Into Pizza Express

I was up on the third floor just relaxing (Sunday afternoon about 13.55) as it was a lot cooler up there and had just come out of the toilets in the corner and I was leaning against the goods elevator gate not thinking it was being used and suddenly the gate opened I turned around and I was face to face with Sigourney Weaver who must of been coming up for a talk or something as she was quickly ushered into a side room before anyone noticed I have to say for 65 she looks amazing

It would have either have been asked for directions to one of the talk stages by someone behind me.... Who just happened to be none other than Pete Bennett from Big Brother :)

Orrrrrrrr for me personally.... This :)
