Shopping lists..

Recommended Posts

Im sure im not the only one, but putting all the autographs thats i wish to get aside, i also plan to do a bit of shopping on the stalls over the weekend and have a good look for certain things ive been wanting for a while, so i just wondered how many of you guys also have some sort of idea of certain things to look for on the stalls, maybe things you collect and want to get more for your collection etc? certain action figures, statues, comics etc? do you have things in mind you want to look for prior to the show or do you just go and just get whatever you see that catches your eye?

Ive got a long list this year...funko pops and arrow/flash figures mainly lol but also some marvel ant man movie type merch would be cool too.

The only thing I plan to buy is Pockets for photoshoots and Autographs at Franks Autograph.

Other than that I just browse and see if something catches my eyes. Usually I dont have money for it or time. With this many guests (awesome thing) the time and money just runs away from me, there aint much of either left.

Funko Pops - obviously (don't we all want them!).

Jewellery - I love fandom related jewellery. Means I can always represent one of my favourites without having to wear tshirts all the time.

I absolutely don't need or want any funko po :D on the other hand, yes for jewelery, it's a great way to subtly represent your fandoms :)

I tend to keep my eyes open for items I know I can't get back home. I tend to browse through the action figure stalls (hardly any is sold where I live and anything that isn't current is hard to order online without reaching such massive prices that I have to tack on import fees), and I also look for hard-to-get video games (was really happy to find the Gamecube version of Twilight Princess an earlier year), other than that I just keep my eyes open. I often never know what I might want until I actually stumble across it in a stall.

Last year I came across the Game of Thrones dragon egg canister way too late, so I'm hoping to get a second chance there (stores refuse to ship it to my country). And I'm hoping to find the newly released Firefly figures, since the shipping of them was astronomical whenever I enquired about preordering.

I will search for some good pics about STARGATE-ATLANTIS actors (for one of my friends), ARROW and THE FLASH pics for another friend, Star Wars / Star Trek merchandise for me, Harry Potter items for my daughter and Doc WHO (Tennant) for my dear friend who will come with me at LFCC.......and whatever my eyes will find on the stalls (at affordable price!).

For me it's mainly pop funko figures ( Since Brianne of Tarth is the only one i have and i think she needs some Friends ) and some more folders, autograph holders, photo holders and other stuff i need from Frank's Autographs.

Humm... I'll be checking for various things with ranging prices from cheap to insanely mad.

I mainly get star trek stuff.

Will be looking for rare pictures, 80's horror/sci fi movie posters.

Also this year would love it if some prop guys bought into sell some replica aliens stuff like a m10 battle helmet or a41-a pulse rifle.

Aearin - I wouldn't say crap and tacky but I do feel they have a pointlessness to them. I used to collect models and loads of film memorabilia (posters, film cells etc). It got to a point where I had so much stuff I finally thought to myself "why am I collecting these?" And I couldn't give a convincing answer to myself so I got rid of it all. So the Funkos look cool I just can have shelves and shelves of them doing nothing but collecting dust, so I haven't bothered starting a collection.

Am I the only one that thinks them funky pop things are ridiculously crap and tacky?

We're in a minority I think, but I hate them! I collect vinyl figures and used to at least be able to find a few stalls selling kidrobot stuff, bearbricks and qees. Now it's just rubbishy funko pop everywhere I look. They are very canny in buying up licenses, and people love things they recognise.

Nice to see some jewellery love though as thats my main area of expertise. I'm working on some BTTF and Alien designs for the con hopefully!
