I may well be going alone this year :( my cousin said " I can't be bothered with the hassle, it's too much effort" which is complete and utter rubbish when I do 100% of the planning and buying. All he does is show up and pay me what he owes. Oh well

Glad to see you all make the effort!

I ued to help run a charity costuming group so this will be my first time the other side of the tables tbh.... being involved in the group side of things there wasn't much time to actually do much or see anyone so this year will be a welcome break!

I'm always rocking up to these things alone but it's always good to meet fellow nutters/collectors/fans. Last year I got chatting to three very interesting people in the entrance queue. Fingers crossed I bump into more interesting people this year.

I've been going on my own for the last few SM events (incl this year) because my mates either can't afford it or understand that we need to be there at least an hour before the doors open! :)

But everyone I've met in queues etc have been really nice and funny. Part of the fun really, especially in the long morning queue :)

I went on my own for last summers one and didn't mind. There are always people there you can chat to while waiting in the queues for autographs etc so you will be fine. This one falls on my birthday weekend (the big 40!) and I have managed to talk one of my mates into going with me!

I usually go on my own. I'm quite shy but try and make an effort to speak to people and yeah, you can have some interesting chats. At least when it's in line inside you know you have common interest with the people in the queue so can ask about what they are getting signed etc.

At the last Winter con I went solely to escort a friend who had never been before but was desparate to meet Ralph Macchio. I could help make the day the best she could have by saying 'go here then, be there at this time.....' and she didn't spend the day stressing as she knew I knew the lay of the land as it were. We ended up chatting to a lovely lady in a Karate outfit and had a lovely time with the crew who could see how excited she was.

I have friend who comes with me, but he will only attend one, maybe two days whereas I go all three. To be honest, I actually find the days by myself a lot easier! As much as it's nice to have company, I usually have so many things to do that it's better if I don't have to drag my friend round as I jump from queue to queue of people he's not interested in meeting! I also usually find people I can chat to in the queues as well, after all we have similar interests if we're there to meet the same guests.

I've attended many Showmasters & Non-Showmasters events in my time by myself. I sometimes find it more fun but that might be due to the company! :whistling:

For this event I'll be going down on the Saturday with a mate but will be by myself for Sunday. Looking forward to how the 2 days compare,

I have to agree to this; it is fun to have someone with you but it's great going by yourself as well. Talk to random people to the queues outside and at guests. Then you can go around all the stools and looks for as little or as much time as you want.

Also agree I also go by myself on the Friday get all things I really want to do and slightly stressful then the misses comes with me on the Saturday as she's not in to it all and we just enjoy the day for the fun it is
