Hi everyone

It was great to see you over the weekend and thank you for your support at CMMK 22.

Collectormania has changed many times over the years and its been a very interesting journey for us as a team the show and for you the fans that attend our events.

Looking into the future we still have a place for this our first big event for many years to come and like the past things are going to change a little to help keep it interesting and fun for everyone.

We wanted to be able to bring you two events a year at the Dons Football stadium a year now that we have the new hall and we felt that this would be a doable thing. but after this year we feel that this is not going to be something that we can achieve and this is why: the football fixtures are not agreed till late in June, and because of this we then only ever have around 4 months or so to agree and book all the guests we need for the Winter show. this year its been a up hill task to deliver an amazing line up of guests , and next year things will not change and as we are also running more events a year its not going to be possible to book these guests in this time. so moving forward we plan to only run one event a year and that show will be in the summer so we have the time we need to book a full on guest list and spend the time needed early to keep on delivering what you have come to expect over the years.

We know you like us love this event and now that the venue is near complete and so useful we can now do more that we have not been able to do before its so useful for housing big guests and moving forward this is what we still plan to do.

We are going to add more things to the show in 2015 and offer talks with the guests like we do at the other events we run and also after this weekends success with the Gaming Zone we will be offering this again to the attendees.

Next Summers event will be using the concourse for guests as well as locating some in the main hall with a talk stage.

The 2015 show will be running for two days from now on the Sat and Sunday

The car park will still be free to you all on a first come first serve basis.

We will still be running free busses for you all to get to and from the show easier.

We do have increased costs in running the show with the new hall and the added activities like the talks stage and gaming zone so we plan to introduce a early bird fee for the beginning of each day to help cover these extra costs. it will be lower than the standard entry costs for our other events and be around £5 per person from 9am to 11am on Sat and 9am to 10am on Sun. this should help to cover some of our increased costs to put on the show.

Entry after 11am will remain free of charge on both days and normal making it still the only free entry show in the UK.

We feel that this will help to grow the show again when it has had to be on hold till the venue was finished and this will help to provide you all with a better event and we can offer the fans at CMMK much more and in doing the early bird tickets this will cover the costs and we will be able to offer what you some of the things you get at our other shows around the UK.

These actions will unleash a better and improved Collectormania for many years to come.

We look forward to seeing you at CM 23 in 2015

Much more to come on this show so watch this space.

thank you for take the time to read this everyone

so moving forward we plan to only run one event a year and that show will be in the summer

Does May count as summer? Will CM23 still take place in May as it states on the website and here in forum?

I totally support the idea of only one CM in a year!

We will still be running free busses for you all to get to and from the show easier.

Just one wish concerning this. Please, make sure the timetables are up to date. Waiting for a bus that leaves/arrives much later than told, is not cool.

If it really improves the event, I don't mind paying a small fee for an early entry.

CMMK was my first ever SM event and it will remain my favorite. My first love. :)

This is such a shame, I really enjoyed MK once i'm there, My only issues were with the free bus and it can be quite cold when you use the concourse. Have you ever thought of using Birmingham theres plenty of room and easy to get to? Using a football stadium can have lots of issues and I guess you need a lot of time to arrange the guests. Your doing a good job SM and a thankless task, but we all love the events you put on otherwise we wouldn't attend. Well done. to you and all your staff. See you at MK / Cardiff / London / Sheffield / Birmingham / Bournemouth.

Oh dear! Paying to get in isn't great but as it's only £5 that's neither here nor there (unless I have an early photoshoot I can have a lie-in). I was disappointed not to attend this year, this is the first I've missed since I started attending at CM4, but the only guests I was interested in had appeared before.

I am confused (doesn't take much!), in a previous post the Winter Event was supposed to be building up hence fewer guests etc, now it's not happening at all! At least this will leave me a bit extra to spend at Christmas from now on.

Looking forward to seeing the summer line-up, hopefully MK will snag some of the better guests instead of London getting them all!

I think one event a year is a good idea and that it will remain free after 11am although £5 isn't too bad I guess. I'm happy with this and hopefully we will get some really cool guests and if by cutting it to one event allows this to happen then I'm not going to complain.

I didn't attend last weekends event as there where no guests for me and the ones I was interested in I had already met.

Mays event was my first time in MK and I really enjoyed it and I found it really easy to find all the guests I wanted to so yea I'm happy it sounds like its going to improve hopefully I'll find myself going again next year

Oh well. Not surprised but after attending since CM4 probably won't be turning up just for a look around like I did on Saturday. I like to get there early to avoid parking problems as it does fill up so it'll all come down to whether there are any guests to meet to justify the early entry fee, however minimal.

I think the one big Collectormania a year is a good idea. As mentioned it gives Showmasters time to plan for & sign up bigger guests & arrange more events within the show.

Just one idea for SM to look at & kind of stealing the idea from LFCC. As Collectormania is really the only show where large amounts of sports guest attend are there any plans to have Diamond Packages type tickets for big named sports guests? I’m thinking of the legends of the sports world that we never see at these type things (names like Bobby Charlton, Pele, Martin Johnson etc…). Anyway, just an idea.

Hi Showmasters

I can 100% see why this decision has been made, I'd just like to make a couple of points.

Please please look after the relationship you have with Montage Moments, they do a fantastic job at getting the big sporting names, boxers especially.

Not sure if it's because I spend all of my time around them but the boxers never seem to stop signing with endless people waiting to meet them.

It seems a shame if there are big boxing names over that won't have a platform at an event like this for the fans, if there is a big sporting guest doing a tour in UK maybe something could be looked at with Montage Moments for a public signing similar to the Sportsmania events or Mike Tyson experience? Falling this maybe Montage Moments could work with you on other shows other than CM now it will only be running once a year.

Just a thought, I have nothing but good to say about your CM and Montage Moments, long may it continue, hopefully more than once a year for them.

Looking forward to May

Thank you and regards

Right, about the Gaming Zone....feedback on Saturday...

It was congested, and the fact the photoshoots were also up there meant it got very hot and uncomfortable, when you factor in all the electrical appliances that were in operation.

In future, given the shows will be in the "summer", these elements need to be separated.

Thanks,

Bobby

Sorry people are being negative about CM22. Sure, the guest list wasn't as strong as recent events and I almost didn't attend (it's a long drive down from Yorkshire :) ), but we came down on Sunday it was great fun and we enjoyed our day immensely. It was my first time cosplaying and I got Amanda Tapping's autograph. Collectormania is my favourite event and I have now attended four times and will continue to do so, as well as Showmasters' other events closer to home (Sheffield etc.). As for paying to get in to CM a little earlier, that's fine by me, as a fiver doesn't exactly break the bank does it? :)

Keep up the good work and please accept huge thanks and respect from a very happy Collectormania-er... :)

I think its understandable! We all care for these events and want to see them grow! People have a right to air there views within reason!! Most have been considerate! There was a big difference compared to previous years and showmasters explained the reason for that quite clearly which is understandable and wish them all the best for future!

Shame MK is going to 1 event a year, I will say I never miss an MK event & always enjoy them, guests or no guests I want to see.

But, once a year fair enough & understand the reasons behind it. Lets hope the one MK show a year in future will be a blast but not too big that its too much like LFCC. The MK attraction for me is that is a smaller, slower paced event.

This sounds great, but my concern is that the event will start becoming too big. I understand things need to grow to keep being profitable but I prefer this event to LFCC as you are always guaranteed entry and not being crushed in thousands of other people.

For my 2 cents worth. It's a shame that CMMK will be reduced to once a year. As a visitor from London, Milton Keynes is only a 40 minute train journey with services that are regular so technically is an easy venue to reach. I must admit, I only brought one photoshoot ticket before the shop closure date and wanted to get Steven Bauer and Bruce Grobelaar once announced. With S.Bauer cancelled, I used that money to get another photoshoot. Even with zero guests, I would have gone to this event because it's technically a day trip away from London for me - and no there is nothing wrong with London.

I've always gone to both summer and winter events at Milton Keynes, so will go to May 2015. I don't mind paying the £5 entrance fee for early entry.

Interested to see how this develops.
