What have you seen recently?

Recommended Posts

Returned from Fright Fest yesterday and the line up was stellar.

The Green Inferno was my #1 highlight but Creep (2014), Truth Or Dare, The Canal, Digging up the Marrow, The Harvest, The Babadook and Der Samurai all deserve mentions!

I've been wanting to see the Green Inferno for a while now, everybody I know who's seen it says its really good.

Although not really a true horror movie, I recently watched a Norwegian film called Ragnarok. It was a pretty decent creature feature with some pretty decent effects.

The Babadook was a huge disappointment at Frightfest. Especially as Total Film kept pushing it as 'terrifying'. I spent the entire movie waiting for one terrifying moment, that didn't happen.

Life after Beth was good fun, as was Dead Snow 2: Red vs Dead. Truth or Dare was very low quality film making, but sick fun in its own right.

Probably my favourite film of the festival was Starry Eyes.

Would love to go to Fright Fest one year. In the meantime I'll keep an eye out for those you mentioned. I backed the Truth or Dare crowdfund so have a copy coming to me when distribution is sorted. Glad you enjoyed The Green Inferno, can't wait to see that one.

I'm looking forward to The Editor, Astron 6's giallo-comedy follow up to Manborg. It's opening a couple of film festivals in October, in Nottingham and Sheffield, so hope to be able to get to one.

I also recently watched cheap thrills starring David Koechner (Champ from anchorman). Again.. not a true horror, but a great wee film with a twisted sense of humour.

I agree with you Indiana Starry Eyes was my favourite film of the weekend! It was worth watching just for the dumbbell scene! I also really enjoyed Digging Up The Marrow but I love Adam Green so I'm perhaps a little bias!

By the way Indiana - thanks for telling me who Essie Davies was! Sorry if I freaked you out when I said I recognised you from the forum! LOL!
