LadyDeTemps
So....anyone else watch it? Interesting to see how they interpret the books (which I have read...all of them). *repeats to self must not get distracted by the eyecandy*
sheepyie
I only know some of the movies, but I liked the first episode. Let's see how the story is going on :)
timelord81r
Finally watched the new bbc1 musketeers, episodes 1/2/3, thoroughly (& surprisingly) enjoyed it I really like it, I was worried it would be another robinhood/merlin/atlantis style show and you could actually throw recent doctor who into that pot of silly, clean, modern sat tea time stuff they are making these days, thankfully so far it isnt. has its faults but im really liking it so far. LadyDeTemps
I was actually rather disapointed...it hasn't lived up to what I expected. The costumes are...a bit random. I'm not obsessed with historical accuracy but the gerneral basic period sillouette is wrong. I find it hard to care about the characters. The chracterisation seems to be sacrificed for fighting/posing time. M'lady has been sidelined as a 2D character. Richleu doesn't get enough screen time. I just wish they'd started from scratch and stuck it in the time they obviously want it to be in with original characters. The books are sooo much better. The only episode I liked (mainly for its rediculousness- because it looked like they taken inspiration from blackadder. Almost expected the explorer chap to end every sentance with 'woof woof'.) lol
timelord81r
just finished it, loved it, the ep with baltar, i forget his name, sorry, i hated his accent in it. seemed over the top. i thought this series would be total pants and silly, flippant like (and this pains me) most of recent doctor who. but i found it very entertaining, a good balance in tone, more gritty, historical yet modern, I like the leads. needs a strong female baddie if Mlady is featured less as the s1 finale would lead you to think. be interesting how they go about the capaldi situation, I guess they will recast the role. going forward, more of the books stuff would be nice and the musketeers and red guards expanded upon as it seemed like there were like a max of 20 each throughout the series lol. id also like to see the musketeers wearing their blue cape things more. one thing that bugged me was Dartanian got over his fathers death rather fast early on lol. The last two episodes were watchable. Much improved on the previous ones.... I found milady a bit dissapointing..wasn't as good as the book. They flatterned her into a 2d token villan. I suppose with the capaldi thing they could fastforward a few years and have mazarin take the bad guy role. Or they could use de Rochefort? and you've got the duke of buckingham. Wizzy5395
I enjoyed the series. It had an unusual twist to what you would expect.
Faerie Tanith
Kind of wish Athos had had the stomach to kill Milady. Can't stand her. I do like Santiago Cabrera as Aramis. He's absolutely excellent and really brings something fun to the character.
