LadyDeTemps
Just wondering...how do you choose what to cosplay (might help with my own decision). Is it because they are a fave character? You think you look like them? You just happen to have the right elements to hand?
AxelV
It's all down to the individual. Personally I pick on my favourite characters and work from there - with the right makeup/costumes/props/wigs etc anything is possible
Narlth
I literally cosplay my favourite characters. It can also help you get the acting down as you're more interested in the character.
AlfieTimewolf
I only cosplay a character for two reasons, I love the character, or to help out my sister's cosplay. For example, she would be Gary King from the Cornetto trilogy, and I would cosplay as Andy to go along with her. For myself? I mostly cosplay Arthur Dent from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, along with Mycroft Holmes from Sherlock. They're my favourite characters, I feel an emotional connection to them, and I just love being them for a con lol
Faerie Tanith
I range from cosplaying my favourites, and characters I know are popular and easily recognized. I chose Elsa from Frozen as my first ever cosplay for the latter reason, for example. I also take into consideration how much a cosplay would cost me to make/buy.
