von Dawson's Express
Had the following sent (Thanks CC)... NBC News reports Scott Carpenter suffered a stroke this week in Colorado. The 88-year-old former spaceflier was stricken three days ago in Vail, Colo., where he has a home, and is being hospitalized in Denver, the sources told NBC News' Cape Canaveral correspondent, Jay Barbree. He reportedly experienced some paralysis and is having trouble speaking, but is expected to make a full recovery. He was at Autographic in March 2007.He was really nice, signed my 'big blue book' and wanted to chat about GMT or Zulu time! and horses... I can sympathise with hisfamily, I witnessed my Ol' Man have several strokes... Best wishes to Scott and all autograph hunters... von Dawson's Express

von Dawson's Express
Spacefans... Some very sad news, Scott Carpenter - one of the original Mercury 7 - has passed away... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2453495/Scott-Carpenter-Pioneering-astronaut-second-American-orbit-Earth-dies-aged-88.html?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490 I met him in 2007 at Autographica, a very nice gentlemen and a true hero. He should have had a Gemini or Apollo mission, he would have made a great commander and 'moon walker'.... Bests and stuff von Dawson's Express
