He has also appeared in the TV series Spartacus: Blood and Sand before being cast as Razneg in Peter Jackson's The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. John endured the prosthetic transformation into Razneg, Azogs commandor of the Warg Riders to hunt down the Dwarves on their journey to the Lonely Mountain. John is one of the few cast members lucky enough to have his own action figure!
