No James Bond Guests?!

I'm a little surprised that there are no Bond guests (apart from Steven Berkoff) at the event, considering the release of Skyfall two weeks later plus the 50th anniversary of the franchise. Would have thought it would have been great to get a handful of fellow Bond actors together on the 50th year.

It looks like Autographica have all the Bond guests with 13. Maybe that is being used to showcase the anniversary.

Yeah that's true but I'm talking about really great Bond guests...I know they have director John Glen who i would love to meet but apart from that the Autographica Bond line up is made up of secondary Bond girls and a couple of minor actors. I just missed last weekends Goldfinger signing which had the three main Bond girls from the film which is a rare occurrence. I'm pretty sure that if a little effort was made we could have had maybe George Lazenby, Tim Dalton and a few of the more memorable characters from the franchise.

A "little more effort"? Really? You have no idea what goes into trying to get guests, I can assure you that plenty of effort is made to get guests that people want to meet but there are a myriad of reasons why particular actors may not appear at events, not limited to them simply not being interested in doing conventions. Just because we want them to doesn't mean they want to do it.

Bond guests are considered more vintage and therefore will always be better represented at shows like Autographica etc. For your information Timothy Dalton from what I've heard doesn't like signings and won't sign pretty much anywhere. George Lazenby was at a previous Collectormania and Roger Moore is doing a couple of things in October.

I can see you are new to the forum, but that comes off as sounding rather rude to Showmasters. They put in a hell of a lot of work trying to get guests, and I would be shocked if tyhey had not tried to get marquee Bond guests for Autographica or EMS etc. They never settle for second best, but garnering a vguest is easier said than done.

We've had some fantastic Bond guests at Showmasters Events over the years, but as other posters have said, the Autographica events have tended in the past to be the ones that have specialised in Bond guests rather than LFCC or Collectormania. I've been lucky enough to meet great guests like Ursula Andress, George Lazenby etc

All the people in Bond or from Bond are of course really great Bond guests and always good to see some, but if it was only as easy as working a little harder we would have a fabulous line up of A listers every name. The reality of the situation is that certain guests have either chosen not to do this type of event or are gainfully employed on a regular basis so don't have the time to attend an event, and no matter how hard you might work you are not going to get them here, one or two might come if you can get timings and payment in the right sort of ball park, but you have to be realisitc about who would appear at ths shows.

why have ppl got such short fuses these days......i think the guy, like me, is a new member and just asking a question.........

even if its 2012,we are all sm fans,so theres no need to be greater-than-thou in response.

yes we understand A LOT of work goes into booking these guests and mr dalton is very elusive to the circuit.

its gotta be a major coup to get the reddwarf cast together so near to the start of the new dwarf :)
