wheel29
I think its says 7pm somewhere on here with 2pm being reg start you can register at 6:50pm and it would affect the running of the day (I think) However from old days of conventions the early arrivals just have longer to check in/eat/visit the bar and of cause talk to everyone else
Moderators etmuse Posted July 19, 2012 Moderators Share Posted July 19, 2012 Yes, the opening ceremony begins at 7pm. Registration opens at 2 and usually stays open until 8-9pm. You can still go to the party Friday if you turn up after this, just bring your registration letter with you and you'll get into the party. Forgive me if i am wrong but is the party on the Friday night just for Gold pass holders? Thanks
Moderators etmuse Posted July 20, 2012 Moderators Share Posted July 20, 2012 There is a drinks reception on the Friday night for Gold pass holders, this usually runs 7.30-8.30pm, with the main party - which is for everyone - then starting at 8.30. marisagrimes
OK, so what happens at these parties? I am not much of a party goer or night club person, so is it anything like that?
Moderators etmuse Posted July 20, 2012 Moderators Share Posted July 20, 2012 Erm... it's a party? There's a DJ and a dance floor and tables and decorations (suited to the theme of the party) and people talk and dance and buy drinks from the bar? The music is generally a bit more pop-y than what most nightclubs play, and there are always the con songs (a large selection of songs that have set dance routines that usually fill the floor!) laurab1
And there is usually some form of entertainment/silly fairground things. Left field evening wedding reception is the best description. Edited July 20, 2012 by laurab1
marisagrimes
Sounds interesting. I won't be one for dancing, but my husband and I might enjoy sitting around drinking and enjoying the atmosphere. We will have to see! :)
