iamamiwhoami
This is my first post so I thought I'd chuck in a big hello before I start! This topic is all about the kind of things people look for at LFCC. I ask as I am exhibiting this year (first time, real nervous!) and want to gather as much information on what kind of products/services appeal to people so I can tailor my stand for to suit you! My worst fear (and I think everyone's) is that people would just walk by without having a browse so I thought I'd ask the question, to avoid this! I'd really just like some input from LFCC attendee's so I can ensure I'm catering for your needs come July! So people, please tell me what would you be looking for? :)
kevinstowmarket
hi! Stuff i buy are ultra pro albums, ultra pro 10x8 pages (about 4boxes at a time but they're like gold dust) photos for people i'm meetin and old stuff. I'd happily rummage through a box of toys inch deep in dust - i walk past stalls just sellin new stuff i can buy from the shop!
Not_Pennys_Ship
Photo protectors. If you can sell them for less than a pound for 8*10...you'll do well
Wondermoose
Photos in different sizes etc of the guests attending is awesome :) Sometimes the photos run out on the guests and sometimes you just want something they dont have. Like a much larger photo :)
Moderators DavidB Posted March 28, 2012 Moderators Share Posted March 28, 2012 If I'm honest, the only thing I ever want from a stall is for it to be affordable. Sounds silly I know, but I love looking round the stalls and I'd purchase so many different things, but not enough stalls offer competitive pricing. I don't mind paying a pound or two over Internet prices, but if I know it's something I can get for half the price elsewhere then I won't impulse buy. Or perhaps something that isn't available online and that's exclusive to the event would be interesting.
Tina197
I agree with DavidB here, I'm not likely to buy anything if I know I can find it cheaper elsewhere, so definitely, affordable prices are a must. I am a bit of an impulse buyer, but I'm not one to regret buying the items I've bought if the items are a decent price. I never look for anything in particular, but if something catches my eye, and doesn't cut into my budget too much, then I'll buy it. Last year, I only bought one item from a stall, and that was only a fiver. And I think that's a shame as there was so much on all the stalls that I thought was great. Queen_Sindel
What are you exhibiting? Presumably, you had something in mind before acquiring a stall? Sorry, I got to put the mod hat on for a moment. Stall holders can't advertise here. With this question we are reaching the tricky territory. @ iamamiwhoami: As long as this stays a general question from a stall holder the topic will remain open. But please don't go into more details about what you are already selling. Thanks a lot!
Jemzamia
I agree with the whole 'affordable prices' thing. I definitely won't buy something when I know I can get it cheaper online. Action figures and jewellery are the main things I always end up buying at cons.
JessCansBe1337
Usually end up buying things i've thought about buying before but never had the impulse to buy it until I see it 'in person' - or unique merch that is either custom/different or not something I woulda thought of. Bargains is a definite one - I remember one year I bought a massive official Dopey plush from a Disney stall for a mere five pounds - considering the smaller ones go for that, it was a bargain! Abigail94
I go for anything as long as it isnt too much and is what I like Normally jewelerry and film memerobilia is what I love to buy as I know the people who sell at those stalls now so can usually get good deals :)

There's no point in telling you I would like Firefly memorabilia if you specialise in 8x10s or vintage toys.
dreamsphere3
i myself love asian horror dvds and japanese rock. so any stall that sells these things i like. also i love trading cards and anything gothic or vampire related. ah, also cosplay stuff, i'd love to see actuall costumes i can touch. sdog
I think sensible prices is a key point. Having paid for entry I resent being charged over the top prices for items that can be relatively easily purchased in high street shops, and believe me I've seen this happen far too often! Moogie
I usually just buy Star Trek photos, cards and other memorabilia, also photos of a couple of favourite actors... What is good, is if the stallholder is friendly and knowledgeable as well!
Flibble
Mostly Doctor Who stuff, and trying to fill in the gaps of one of my Star Trek trading card collections! But if I think the item is over priced, then I'll give it a miss too.
Count Fooku
Personally I would say sensible prices and items suitable for signing that relate to the guests appearing at the event.
Kuato_Lives
Replica items from films that aren't over priced for example the headpiece to the staff of Ra from Raiders would be cool or a book of the dead from Evil Dead.
ClockworkOwen18
Action figures from Marvel, DC and film. Posters. Older Marvel and DC comics. Memorabilia from films that aren't too pricey.
bunny-summers
I tend to buy: - action figures - anything 24 related - trading cards / Magic the Gathering - cult tv stuff (Anderson and anything '60s related) - anything I can't find online really
KingRichard76
I'm always on the look out for anything Catwoman related, (surprise surprise) back in 1993 I saw a Catwoman figure in the shops and since then I've been on a faux quest to find it, so far have been unable to find it. At one of the first Showmaster cons I went to I saw one of those very detailed Catwoman busts and was very tempted to buy it - sometimes I do buy things on impulse and glad I didnt buy it now. Theres all kinds of things that catches my eye, its always nice to see vintage Star Wars stuff, Muppets etc. I'm sure I've forgotten stuff but it will come to me if it needs to :) Good question. Yes! also, I like to see indie films a bit more represented/the lesser known geeky things. Not the same old star wars/star trek etc stuff. basically anything a bit different! bex4cedric
I like old stuff that isn't widely available, for example I buy a lot of Buffy merch from its early days on TV as I was only like 8 when it started. I also like magazines, I buy a lot of the subscriber SFX issues off ebay and I like to buy Buffy magazines and old Sci Fi magazines with shows and films that interest me in them but they have to be reasonably priced. If I can get them super cheap I end up buying loads haha
ClockworkOwen18
Interesting books also catch my eye, for example; books that explore a particular genre of film, cult films or directors. Edited March 29, 2012 by ClockworkOwen18
sammyromie
I always buy pin badges of different sizes and from various fandoms. At each con I end up buying at least three. I also like good deals. You know "buy 3, get 1 for free" and so on. Sometimes I buy autographs as well, but they musn't be overprized. At the last Chevron I was drooling over Stargate related jewelery, for example (I didn't buy it at the end, run out of money).
