He'll miss this adulation when he's appearing on "I'm a celebrity, get me out of here" in 2010. I know many fans of his on here are probably women who fancy him, so what I've said will upset them no doubt. Sorry 'bout that. But I'm sick of all this celebrity worship that goes on these days. It had messages from fans from the USA too in it so they're well pleased that he got it . lorannah Posted March 10, 2004 Share Posted March 10, 2004 it is my understanding that when it says "no photos" it means WITH the star and not of them!!! xx Not in this case, we were there when it was first announced (within the 1st hundred tickets - so in this case getting there early didn't really help). Anyway we clarifified it with Houdinia (thanks for not getting snarky with us by the way), we thought as there was 2 of us one could take a photo (not with but of Billy) while he was signing the others and vise versa. We were told that no photos at all were allowed as they would encourage other people to ask for posed photos and slow the queue down. We were disappointed as I've been an avid photographer for 7 years and taking the photos rather than gettitng the autographs is more important to me. Ive had the chance to meet Billy countless times over the last year and he out of most the guys is one of the most down to earth. He is so lovely and kind, i do believe he was tired cuz I noticed he wasn't his usual self. As for getting a flight on friday, maybe he had work to do in the states. Shouldn't we be gratful he was gonna fly here and then sign 2 days. fade2dust Posted March 10, 2004 Share Posted March 10, 2004 I don't think its just a case of the organisers saying "we haven't made enough money today" I think they genuinely want as many people as possible to get the chance to meet the stars - otherwise they could just bring the guest in to do a closed signing session for dealers who would always pay more than the fans and then re-sell them at great profit for themselves! If it was just about the money, there are easier ways to make it. The reason for rushing fans through is simple - it means more happy fans rather than more pissed off fans who didn't meet their idol. They actually care that fans get to meet these people. But as an organiser of events myself I know its not about the money. If it was they wouldn't go to so much effort. There have been numerous attempts to stage events JUST to cash in on fans and at fans' expense. Just watch Watchdog they are full of them! The guys at Showasters are fans at heart themselves, who want to stage a class act and its not easy because you can't please all the people all of the time.
