Hello!!! I had to get mine photoshopped too, I don't supose I could see yours please? I had to leave and worried!!!

Hi Alison!

I would be happy to post both the pictures for you to have a gander at, unfortunately I have absolutely no idea how to insert images into a post on here.

If you're on Twitter, follow @djdarrenjones and I'll post the two images, fixed and unfixed.

Dorgris, there's an instruction here that you may find useful if you want to know how to insert pictures into a post on here.

I gotta say considering the heat and being under those lights all day I gotta say the guests were absolutely brilliant during the shoots. I mean when I saw Arthur you could tell he was really hot but he stuck with it like an absolute champ and when you consider David had 1000+ Shoots he must've been exhausted but my what a nice guy.

I gotta be Honest though I didn't actually feel hot until I sat down 0,0

OK - I apologise if these pictures don't work. First time effort, but hopefully they'll be OK. You can see the effect on the eyes. No idea what caused my weird eye thing, either I moved them as the picture was being taken or I have a serious case of cataracts that I really should get looked at.

Anyway - here's the two. I think the fixed one comes up first.

And thanks Dwarfbabe for the helpful link re posting pics!

* The chap manning the Joe Flanigan photoshoot queue on Sunday. Thank you for being nice, treating us like humans (rather than cattle) and your great sense of humour. Made the wait more bearable! It doesn't take much but you managed it.

I aim to please Freckles, and the great thing about working for SM is that I get to let my natural, exubarant, frustrated actor side out, and interact with all of you lovely, wonderful people!

Biggest complait was with the fiasco at the Paul McGann shoot and the girls in front of me at the Evanna queue who just talked to her for ages and no one moved them on.

Reddragon, I'm really sorry about the way things went. I did try to explain what was going on at the time, but I was trying to manage two queues on my own, and Joe Flanigan's shoot before you went a little wrong. Just to compund things, we had 20-30 people in the queue that had Ian McNeice shoots also, and the hold-up caused a clash between the two shoots. All of us in Photo B were trying our very best, but sometimes circumstances force things to go in a different direction to that which was planned. The best laid plans of mice and men...

I just hope that it didn't have an adverse affect on your weekend, and that the rest of the show made up for this small snafu....

Hi Barry

Thinking about it now I shouldn't have used the word fiasco. Put it down to a bad day at work yesterday. I realise you were only doing your best. At the time, there were many people getting hot and bothered partially due to the heat.

Once again I thank you for the apology and apologise myself for the comment about the photoshoot. All in all it was a great weekend and I did enjoy it especially meeting David Tennant.

I went along on both days and had a blast.

All of the guests I met (mainly but not exclusively the Doctor Who guests) were excellent and it was great that so many were doing over the table photos.

I thought the organisation was generally excellent and although the heat was a pain I don't think SM can be blamed for a freak heat wave in October.

Particular thanks to the pit boss at the David Tennant signing area who resolved my friend's problem over her lost VQ ticket in splendid fashion. It really was much appreciated.

Overall I liked the venue, was able to get all the autographs I wanted and loved the guest line up - so its a big thumbs up from me!

I enjoyed this event :)

My only complaints are lack of chairs (I know, can't be helped! But we rectified this by sitting in on Joe Flanigan's talk, had to rest our old legs!) and rude attendees; we were waiting for Tennant shoots to return as the crew collapsed, and overheard a girl actually complain that the crew were helping those who fell rather than putting out photos. I lost faith in the human race that day..

Was that the lovely lady who I heard suggesting that this was a great distraction technique from Showmasters so they had an excuse when the photos weren't back in time!

The lack of chairs was a problem,by the end of the day it was hard even finding a place to sit on the floor!(and i'm grateful to my son who helped this old girl to get upright again).Safetywise, people sitting on the floor take up more space than those on chairs. If I can attend next years' events, may have to pay for a gold pass just to get the chance to sit down for a while! Staff were helpful and friendly, there was plenty of room in the aisles,Armin was a delight, and meeting David was brill!Food outlets not as good as at the other hall. Met some interesting people, this is one of the few places were people of all ages have a great time and socialise, with no trouble, and have fun.Thanks.......

had a really good day both days met who i wanted 2 but like all things there r allways problems had a few myself but got them sorterd and i do think some of the sm staff need to take a chill pill done something at this event that i dont do is going to talks really enjoyed them an dmy lads got potos of all the free talk guest that we went to my david tennent photo was good but rather than wait for the masses round the tables and the endless calling of the sm staff to come back later i like allways with afternoon photo shoots i pay £2.00 to have it delived as we have to catch a train back home and have to leave at 17.00 just to get to the train station and i never had no trouble with this service at all( well it can take up to 2 weeks) but its better than being pushed shoved and even proded just to get a photo. the david tennent auto signing was good my only moan about this is i wished he personlised autos for £45 a auto bit dissapointed but can understand how fast he had to sign to get everybody seen. would say not the best i have been to and could have been better in some repects my best con to date is lfcc 2008 and i have been to all apart from glasgow to date from 2007 but on whole not bad just 2 dam hot

some quick comments on the event:

almost got of to a bad start when we asked a crew member outside where to go and he tried to send us to thw wrong Q. Good job i asked someone else.

Guests were average (but i knew this before hand) will never pay for an autograph from that lot.

Star wars talk was very dissapointing / sort the sound out so we can hear

although Debbie Carrington was brilliant and could have just listened to her for 30 minutes.

Venue was not great. No where to sit down no choice of food so didn't bother.

Traders were mostly ok a couple of them were a bit moody / expensive / especially the idiot trader who came to find me becasue i didn't buy something from him but bought it from another trader instead. twit!!

Auction: could have been good but did you find that stuff in the basement or what?

despite these moans i want to go to the main event next year but won't bother with any of the smaller events like this one.

Would it be safe to say that between David Tennant's enormous Photo shoot and the fact it normally takes a few hours to get the Photo's prepared it's not really surprising that there were some delays?

Was the crew member outside wearing a yellow shirt? EC staff were moving people about unnecessarily so it may not be SM fault.

Guests were average?! Erm, that's actually just rude. If you'd never pay for an auto from "that lot" why bother coming. As you said you knew which guests were attending before the event. Completely unnecessary and totally subjective comment.

Also from as far back as I can remember there is never really any where to sit. That goes from the olden days of LFCC and MK to now. Also no-one makes anyone buy venue food. If you went round the corner from the venues there are various fast food places and restaurants to eat. It's just a case of looking.

Actually looking through your post was there anything you were happy about since the venue, food, guests, dealers and staff all came under non-constructive criticism? Why not suggest a way to improve stuff?

Anyway... my comments:

The event wasn't bad considering the venue change. Fairly roomy, the weather couldn't be helped but then i looked at the weather forecast and dressed appropriately so I wasn't too hot i.e. I dressed for summer lol.

Shame about the EC staff again. At least Jason stepped in to try and sort it out. I was happy with the cards on entry just a shame about the no Steed card as previously stated but as they were free and I'm an Avenger collector I'm not complaining at all. Even the £10 was awesome after I got it signed and embossed. Nice to see something different like this at an event.

I really only came to see 3 guests: Armin Shimmerman, John Hurt and Diana Rigg. Even though I've already met 2 out of 3 of them before I still had things for them to sign and they were all totally brilliant and talkative.

In terms of queuing I had VT number 15 for Diana but it took me until 3pm to see her. In the morning I had talks and other things to do so I decided to come back later. When I came back the queue was so long and the crew seemed to be having trouble managing as he was trying to look after at least 2 guest queues and it did get very hectic. Because I had to go to a talk and then Diana's shoot I had to leave the queue AGAIN as there was no time for me to wait. Eventually I did meet her though and was happy to see she was quite chatty .

I went to the first talk on Saturday and as I already put in a thread before the event itself I hoped the crew would actually care enough this time to actually make an effort into making sure the people asking the guests questions actually had mics quickly. Once again they looked like they couldn't be bothered though and just ambled around so much so to the point when Armin actually kept getting up and leaving the stage to let the audience use his mic! In the time that the crew were just wandering around someone else could have asked a question and it doesn't seem fair to those wanting to.

The last talk of the day was John Hurt. I had been in a queue since 4.30pm to be one of the first few in so I could get an aisle seat near the front. This would have been ok apart from the fact that people already in the talk area from the previous one just sat there and refused to move and weren't moved on by any crew. This seriously annoyed me. I waited my time in a queue and some people that just stayed in the other talk effectively got my seat. Seriously annoyed was actually a bit of an understatement at the time.

As previously stated in other threads and other areas of the forum the talks are for Q&As. In the JH talk one guys asked John if he'd hold a pink bear and pose for a photo. Seriously? I know this was apparently for charity but there is (once again) a time and a place for things like this. Like at the auto table. If it's for charity I'm sure no-one would mind them getting a VT and asking him at his table for a picture with it. Once again I was unimpressed. And then it happened again - same guy same bear in the Harry Potter talk on Sunday. That's just not (in my opinion) that a TALK is for.

Other than those few niggles it was a good weekend. I got to see people I usually only see at these events and there was a bit more variety (for me anyway) with the dealers and managed to grab a couple of bargains. Not a bad job at all SM. Not the biggest show but then I went to the first LFCC and that wasn't big either. These events need help and support to grow just like LFCC has and I'll definitely be along to the next one!

Hi again,

I did write it all down and pass it to the office, as well as speaking to one of the organisers and Mara who then went and spoke to them.

It was awful, I was just horrified for you. Hope it didnt spoil your day

Hi,

Thanks for your help, it did make me feel better and I really did appreciate it, I did not let it spoil my day but it did leave a few negative feelings that remained until I got home.

Thanks again :)

First and Foremost saying the guest's were only average is not only very rude but also completely inaccurate but I think the hundreds of people who came a very long way from their homes proves just to see them proves just how much they mean to them. I'll tell you another thing too they are some of the nicest people I've ever met and If anyone of those people were kind enough to treat me with any kind of respect than they are worth every single second it was spent getting to know them.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the doesn't the talk allow the audience to ask them any questions? It was a talk not a show. They're real people giving real answers trying to have fun to let there fans get to know them a little.

As for the Venue there has never been anywhere to sit at Earls Court as long as I've been going there. As for the food correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't the Food like exactly the same as it was at LFCC?

As for the Trader would it be a fair assumption to say that the reason he "found" you was because you expressed interest in an item and asked him to hold it? then asked if you were still interested when you passed by? I think these guys are allowed a little leeway considering how hard it is to find the kind of merchandise they sell.

The Auction is stuff that is given to showmasters people kind enough to donate their time and effort into giving people a momento of their favourite shows and characters.

Jason worked so hard into making this one of the best events and did an incredible job he put his heart and soul into it and allowed so many people to have an amazing day that they are never going to forget. All I can say is that I consider it an honour just to have been a part of it.

Can't wait for next years :P

My feedback - simply awesome, great event!

My full thoughts are on my Blog

Day One

Day Two

Nice read. Great you had such an amazing time and clearly made a big impression. I was excruciatingly normal but still had a great experience with DT. And had a great weekend overall.

That is a very nice blog. I always like seeing how everyones experience was and if I ran into anyone. To be fair Rockstar your comments always manage to catch my attention in a cool way. :D

COSPLAY

Award for Sexiest cosplayer of the weekend - girl who was 'Invisible Girl' Sue Storm on Saturday and Jubilee on Sunday. Don't know who you are but both costumes looked great.

Heya, thanks :) My friend just let me know about this (I'm never on these forums). Felt really nervous about being possibly one of the only person in Lycra at the event on sat.

My thoughts on the thing though, Saturday was a bit slow for me since most of my friends were cosplaying the next day but Sunday was absolutely brilliant. Really enjoyed myself. I was really impressed with the talks on the second stage, as a cosplayer most of them were really useful and I really did enjoy them. Finally a place that has decent talks (that is from a cosplayer perspective) if you dont want to go to the big ones at the main stage.

I really enjoyed looking at the stalls, I actually found a stall that sold women fit nerd shirts...do you know how rare that is?!

I can't say much about the queues and stuff for guests. There was no one there I really wanted to see but I got the chance to talk to some of the other guests that didn't have big queues and they were so lovely, spent about an hour with my friends chatting with various guests.
