Showmasters Admin showmasters Posted March 4, 2004 Showmasters Admin Share Posted March 4, 2004 Hi, As you may be aware we have been spending the past few months trying to arrange for a number of comic artists and writers to appear at our first London Film and Comic Con. Unfortunately as of this moment we have been unable to secure any well known names in the comic world. One of the major problems we came up against was that many of the high profile comic guests arrange their appearances well in advance and most were already booked in to appear at one of the three large comic conventions taking place this weekend in the USA, Ireland and Italy. Several other possible comic related guests were also contacted but were tied up with their current projects and couldn't spare the time over the weekend. However on the plus side, most of the major artists we have spoken to over the past month have expressed an interest in attending one of our future events, which is a major step forward and should pave the way for future LFCCs. Over the rest of this year we will continue to contact new and exciting guests from the comic world and already have several trips planned to other comic events around the world to meet with high profile comic creators and their publishers. And even though there won't be any major artists appearing at this show we do have a comprehensive selection of major comic dealers attending, selling gold and silver age comics and the latest publications. I'm sure you can understand that getting a show like this off the ground is a tricky business and unfortunately there will be a few teething problems with the first event. We are sorry that, despite our best efforts, we have been unable to bring you any major international artists for this first event. However please rest assured that we are trying to change this and we do value your support. Andrea Showmasters
ptenbob
Well, it's a shame that there won't be any huge names in London, but a part of me is glad that you're not announcing Stan Lee and Kevin Smith, I wouldn't be able to afford big names at this short notice! Having said that, it's just something else to look forward to, when's LFaCC 2?
