Pirate dvd's

i think i know the stall you are on about.

i have seen it at the show in the past.

they may be liscenced to sell copys of what are more rare shows ect.

iv seen that stall at quite a few of the events... i think they are recorded on dvd from the telly

Even if that is the case, it is still illegal to then sell them on....

 

There were several stalls selling dodgy DVD's - not sure this should really be acceptable. I'd be interested to know what the guests thought of this, considering it is their industry that is suffering from piracy!

There are many programs and movies where the copyright has elapsed and they become "public domain". So quite often it is legal to sell these. It is possible to check online for what is public domain or not.

I have seen the dealer (who tends to have stuff in yellow cases) at events where the OFT have entered and examined items and he has not been hassled.

However, there still may be a few that slip through.
