We are delighted to announce that current WBC Super Middleweight Champion of the world, Carl Froch, will be joining us at Sportsmania!

Froch won the WBC Belt on 6th December 2008 when he beat the Canadian, Jean Pascal, for the vacant title. on 25th April Froch suffered the first knockdown of his entire amateur or professional career, when he defended his title against Jermain Taylor. Froch got up and secured a stunning knockdown in the 12th round to retain his WBC belt.

On 13 July 2009, Froch agreed to take part in the Super Six World Boxing Classic Super Middleweight tournament devised by American tv giant Showtime. The tournament features 6 boxers including Andre Dirrell, Mikkel Kessler, Arthur Abraham, Jermain Taylor, Andre Ward and Froch himself. Froch's first opponent in the Super Six was Andre Dirrell who he beat on a split decision. He then went on to fight Mikkel Kessler in his home country of Denmark. It was an incredibly close fight with Froch losing on points and in turn losing his WBC title.

Froch's 3rd opponent in the Super Six tournament was former middleweight champ Arthur Abraham. With an eye injury forcing Kessler to relinquish the WBC Belt Froch/Abraham was for the vacant title. Froch put on possibly his best ever performance to comfortably win the fight and regain his place as WBC Super Middleweight champion of the world.

In the semi-final of the Super Six Froch fought and beat Glen Johnson, who had stepped in for the injured Kessler. Froch will next fight Olympic Gold Medalist, Andre Ward, on 29th October this year, in the final of the Super Six Tournament.

This is the first time anywhere in the world that Carl has signed in public and met his growing legion of fans and admirers. We are so pleased he has chosen Sportsmania as the place to do it! :P

Nice work SM. It’s great that you’ve managed to get another big name, and first time guest, at short notice.

Any news on prices and are you still doing Everlast gloves for £10?
