Thought it would be nice if we all shared what made our day(s) wonderful :)

I went up with three Friends in the car quite early and when we had a quick snack in McDonalds the queue outside the stadium was about four people long after we came out it had grown quite a bit.

Anyways I was tight with my budget this year and got those who I wanted to get.

Grabbed virtual queue tickets for Robert Englund (we turned up to get the tickets the same time he turned up) and Robert Patrick and then for Nigel Planer and Chris Ryan.

On our way around finding our bearings we saw the VERY tall Nigel walking along with Chris I wish I had my camera ready because that would have been a great shot, I introduced myself to the two of them briefly.

Last year I only knew Big Pants (we go way back) this year - and thanks to this forum I could go up to people especially Timelord who was- surprise surprise in a Photoshoot queue lol :( Was great to say "Hi" to him and had a nice chat.

Bunny Summers of course, same with Kylina, Lauren and also members of the MKG Garrison.

Went back to Nigel and Chris (absolute genius that they were together) and I chose to instead of getting them on a Young Ones DVD cover instead to get them on a Young Ones group 10x8 I majorly geeked out at this point and along with a personalisation I asked Nigel to also Write/quote a line from my fave Young Ones episode (Time) and whilst doing so we chatted briefly about Rik and Ade so in a way they were all there. Then got Chris to write/quote a line from my fave Young Ones episode (Time) and was a line that totally summed up Mikes Character. Both were more than happy to have a group shot right there.

Then we went off to see Nick Moran (who was crewing with Nick cos I have the picture I took with the both of you)

Robert Englunds queue (obviously) was very long and he was like how people have said he was VERY FRIENDLY - I was able to video him which helped when at the end I asked him if he could quote a line to camera to which he in character laughed and went "Welcome to primetime bitch!" pure class.

Then off to meet Robert Patrick which must of been the same time both Roberts either had lunch or photoshoots because they came back around the same time whilst waiting in the Robert Patrick line Robert Englund came back and went in character "Ha ha, fresh young blood!" Robert Patrick greeted us all and was a really lovely guy. I filmed him also when he was signing and afterwards asked if he could do a quote which he was more than happy to do.

Thank you to all those that made yesterday what it was, close Friends, Friends, the Wonderful Actors and Showmasters Crew.

Memorable bits of conversation with the guest were Gates McFadden asking me if I was cold during the photoshoot, to which I said no I'm fine. John DeLancie asking me the same question when I got his autographs, I told him a friend of mine loved his performance in Breaking Bad and always made me watch the Q episodes of Star Trek whenever we watched them, he smiled and said thank you very much, he was very polite. John remembered me when we did the photoshoot, he said ahh hello... again!

Gates was the main guest I'd gone to see and I wanted to say that to her, I think I did okay without going over the top and she said that's really sweet of you, thank you! in a voice that sounded pleased. I told her I'd not had an opportunity to meet her before and so was thrilled when Showmasters announced her. We finished the conversation by her telling me to take care.

Chase Masterson - LOVELY lady! She made full on conversation, extended a hand, asked me where I'd come from to which I replied Staffordshire, she said she had heard of it. She was so warm and friendly and remembered me by name when I had the photoshoot with her, which surprised me. Give this woman a marquee not a pokey desk right by the cold entrance, she was wonderful!

LeVar - my mum thought he was really pleasant, she was nervous about the photoshoots as she's never been to a collectormania before and I wanted to show her what it was like and have her participate in the day. LeVar really put her at ease (he was our first photoshoot) and he was a genuinely very approachable and down to earth chap, we shook hands when I got the autograph and he thanked me for coming. Totally the opposite of Michael Dorn. I'm glad to have had the opportunity to meet him.

Robert Patrick - during our photoshoot, he asked who was on my t-shirt to which I replied 'Kylie', I have no idea if he'd have heard of her or not as she's not fully fledged in the US, but he replied 'oh she's really cool!' - later when I got the autgraph I was a little disappointed not to have it personalised, I was behind the Britain's Got Talent Terminator chap who was talking to him for a little while so I don't know if it was down to time constraints, I did have a slip with my name on but ho hum. The Terminator guy turned around and said hello to me while I was queuing, I'll try and watch him tonight on Britain's Got Talent.

Everyone was very nice really, Robert Englund and Nicole De Boer weren't especially memorable as it was just the hi and bye kind of thing but I can't complain about anyone, I got all the autographs I wanted, the Showmasters crew were brilliant in making sure we fitted in the Englund photoshoot 1.30, the Masterson shoot 1.45 and the DeLancie one at 1.55 at which we were literally the last ones. I'm just pleased to have got it all done, met some new people both guests and otherwise and generally had a great day. I think the only downside was the weather and the wind blowing through the stadium, for this time of year it was horrendous but we survived!

Memorable moments for me today were the fans them selfs

ive been going to almost every convention since CM9

but today was the very first time i had dressed up. i knew i would draw attention to myself by doing this.

i had many many people come up to me saying how great they thought i looked, i had a few photos taken and met up with some other fans

also meeting john leeson was great. i had heard hes quite rude to fans but he was lovely.

i also enjoy meeting british actors more then americans becausei feel like i can talk to them better, they are more laid back. it makes me feel les nervous

some great kind guests ive met recently have been john leeson, john barrowman, christopher ryan, danny john jules and robert llewelling

The whole day was memorable for me. Had an amazing time. Only went for Gates Mcfadden and boy, did she make it worthwhile. Went to have the photoshoot with her first because I was nervous about talking to her whilst getting an autograph and thought that not having to really speak to her during the photo would calm me down! We had to have two pictures taken in the end because in the first picture she was still talking to me! And they printed both pics off for me - bonus!

Then we went to get an autograph from her and she spoke to us for a good few minutes - very very friendly. Obviously she wasn't doing posed photos but we got a good shot of us laughing with her. Then, when our pics had printed off - we decided to go back and get them signed too, not only did she remember us, but she had another chat with us. And when we said we were leaving her alone now, she thanked us for coming down to see her.

This was my first ever con, and Gates made it completely worth the early morning train journey, but I have to say, the whole con was wonderful. Thank you Showmasters!

Disappointed with one of the guests I met today. I won't name them but they didn't even look up at me when signing, let alone say hello. I understand they were busy but they could at least have said "hi" and maybe given me a smile - even if utterly false. That would still have been far, far better than being ignored.

However, that aside, it was a good day. :-)

Daniel Logan was very friendly and accomodating. And while I didn't say a great deal to him myself, he was more than happy to chat with anyone and pose for photos even with people who were just walking past.

Tony Head was just as I expected he'd be - and all the better for it. He was happy to talk about all his work - we even briefly mentioned Repo! - and seemed happy to be meeting so many fans.

And Shauna Macdonald was wonderful, very charming and even gave me an honest - but diplomatic *g* - answer when I asked her if she thought The Descent Part 2 lived up to the original. :-)

I'm glad I met all three of them and will treasure the signed photos I now have.

But as for the first guest I mentioned ... I might actually sell the photo. *shrugs*

I went to meet Rebecca Holden, and what a fantastic guest she was! Charming, warm and friendly - if only all guests could be as appreciative of their fans as this lady! Thank you Showmasters!

Some nice bloke who gave me his virtual qeue ticket for Robert Englund as he already had him and his number was lower than mine so I could go in sooner.

Lovely couple behind me at the Robert Englund signing and the blonde lady that ran after me to give me his business card.

So great to see there are still some nice people out there after what I usually experience almost daily round here.

One of the tents blowing upwards from the strong windbow that came into the stadium right behind where my new found mate and me sat watching the footy for a few lol

Well I was rather pleasantly surprised. Wasn't too thrilled by the lineup this time and disappointed no friday as I'm really not a fan of fighting through large crowds but I generally turn up for a look around anyway and glad I did as I had a pretty good day.

Didn't turn up til after 11 but without too much hanging around managed to meet Levar Burton who was relaxed, chatty and a thoroughly nice chap. Seemed to actually be enjoying himself. Said the whole day felt pretty relaxed and seemed very happy to meet the fans.

Gates McFadden seemed a bit reserved but she hadn't long been back from her photoshoot when I approached and I know she's not keen on photography, particularly with flash so maybe it had made her not feel too good. But once I asked a question she was very forthcoming with information and very nice. I missed her last time she was at one of these so another good Trek guest to get finally.

David Blue was just brilliant. Not rushing anyone, willing to chat and chat. Gave me a few brief clues about what had been planned for Stargate Universe if it hadn't been cancelled but swore me to secrecy as many people haven't seen the finale in the UK yet. Top bloke. Nearly gave him a miss as I was running out of money and I'm more focused on SG-1 and Atlantis people but glad I didn't miss out.

And if you were in his queue today when the guy dressed up as a wookie came in, that was just so funny. Had Tony Head in stitches too.

While waiting in the photoshoot queue for Tony Head (not done one of those before but a small birthday treat for myself) people were talking about how great Robert Englund was being with everyone. Now I'm not a huge horror fan but the guy is a legend so I treated myself to go see him too. He seemed a bit too concerned about the time at first and how long there was left which was a little offputting but once we got to chatting he was great. The guy's knowledge of film and the people he's worked with is amazing. had some very interesting things to say about the V remake and even the Sarah Connor Chronicles and why he thought they hadn't worked and been cancelled. And once I mentioned I really enjoyed the epiosde of Bones he was in, he went off talking about how great all those people were and the other things they'd done etc. Great stuff.

I was then waiting for the Tony Head photoshoot pics to come back as I really wanted to get that signed but time was running out and I had one particular picture I've had since CM4 that I really wanted him to sign, so got that done and then the photoshoot pics turned up about 4:45 and by the time I'd found mine and gone back it was just a bit too late. Never mind. I met him last at CM4 and things were much more relaxed this time I must say. There was time for a brief chat, he was telling me where a second photo I'd picked out had been taken, he was personalising and even had time for another photo although strangely he looks a bit scared in that.

In fact everyone was personalising that I met, although I only realised when I got home that Robert Englund had forgotten to put my name on. He was so caught up talking about the actual picture and eveything else I guess I can forgive him and it's not the end of the world.

Only minor quibble, I was on the lookout for a couple of trading cards to finish a collection and was rather disappointed in the seeming lack of specialist dealers, at least as far as I could see. Most that I did find were just basic sets and not much of the rarer cards. Minor point considering how much I spent on autographs.

So all in all, a rather good day which is great as I wasn't really expecting much at first. And there was even football to watch to while away the waiting time. Still miss the shopping center but it's clear an event of this size just wouldn't work there any more.

Might even make it to LFCC if the bank balance can handle it as that looks even more interesting.

Very good experience overall (despite the weather!) and all the guests were very nice, but here are the highlights for me:

Having some great discussions in the photoshoot queues.

Cracking up over Dean Lennox Kelly's antics during his photoshoot (including the way the crew was giggling). The man just wouldn't stop talking!

Having Fredric Lehne remember me from his photoshoot (and having a crack at remembering my name, even if he didn't).

Gates McFadden being happy to personalize an auto for my dad with a private joke (she got it).

Robert Englund's photoshoot (I love the way he took charge of the way everyone was to pose, based on what he and the glove could work with - with me it was the hair!)

Spotting re4per sitting with Robert Patrick while I was queueing for Robert Englund and us doing Barney Stinson look-into-my-eyes gestures at each other. :D

Getting to chat with Robert Englund about V (both the old and new series).

Being told by Jason Watkins that his first girlfriend had the same name as mine.

Getting to snuggle up to Anthony Head again (AHHHHH). That was my last (happy) memory before leaving Collectormania today...

i went on the saturday, and have to say it was a pretty good event,i thought it seemed somewhat quieter than i had seen it previously, but maybe that was down to it being a bank holiday weekend, and lots of people who otherwise might have attended had gone away.i think the sooner they get the event indoors there though the better for everyone,i know its down to the builders so no fault of the organisers.it was blowing a gale and must have been pretty cold if you were sitting there all day.but fortunately the shuttle bus was on hand to warm you up if you sat upstairs,as the heating was on and it was about 100 degrees in there...lol

i only had two people i wanted to meet on saturday;jill curzon and david warner, who were both delightful.

many thanks to the staff, all doing a great job as usual,no doubt overworked and underpaid....lol

and how considerate of the organisers to even lay on a football match to watch that afternoon for those who wanted to sit down and chill out.lol

heres looking forward to LFCC in july............

My family and I went to Collectormania on Saturday, stayed at a very nice hotel nearby, and went back today as well. Great weekend, managed to get all the autographs we wanted.

This was the first one I'd been to since the days of the Shopping Centre, and I did prefer it back there, as most of the event was out in the open and freezing cold!

I would like to know who the individual was that dropped the stinkbomb in the only warm area of the venue though! The disgusting smell was still there this morning!

When arriving yesterday at mid-day after the long drive there, I was surprised to find nearly ALL the guests were at lunch, all at the same time! We simply collected our VQ tickets and drove off to a McDonalds some distance away for a while and came back later.

Today we were quite surprised, to find that at the back of the stadium, was a McDonalds, a KFC, and an entrance from the car park that went straight into the event, rather than via a lift!

Met Alex Kingston this afternoon, it was a bit rushed, no photos, but had the opportunity to speak to her.

All the time we had the bonus of being able to watch a few football matches free of charge!

Thanks to all the staff for their hard work and keeping everything moving.

Had a great day today.

As always the crew and fans were lovely. There were some great outfits. I saw the cutest father and daughter dressed as Klingons.

I got some great stuff including earnings shaped like swords which were only £2.95!

I was in the queue for David Blue When the Wookie came in too, it was really funny. I have to say David Blue was one of the friendliest guests I've ever met, actually went out of his way to make conversation. Antony Heads was doing a brilliant job as well, charming and friendly.

I was also impressed by how warm and genuine Gates Mcfadden came across, what a star!

I have two moans, firstly I was gutted to miss out on Keegan Delancie. Please Please try to get him back next year!

Also I don't like "No personalisations" for guests no matter how busy they are, it makes me reluctant to queue and pay for their auto.

He was awesome, in fact I think he was my favourite guest, I loved the fact that when I got to him at the photoshoot he put his arm round me and went ''ah you're just the right height to snuggle into my armpit, stay there!!!!'' There were some pretty tall blokes before me, and he's not that tall!!!

His can-can prior to this was also a highlight

Totally. I'm surprised both weren't being asked to move things along a bit. Last time I met Tony he was very busy and things were rather rushed but I guess that wasn't long after Buffy had finished so still high profile. This time was much nicer and more relaxed.

They seemed to enjoy sitting next to each other too. While i was waiting, as well as the wookie thing, Tony managed to knock an apple off his table and there was a bit of suggestive banter between him and david about touching it. very funny.

Also I don't like "No personalisations" for guests no matter how busy they are, it makes me reluctant to queue and pay for their auto.

To be honest I've got used to it since CM has got so popular. It was fine in the early days but now I go with no expectations, so when they do it's great. They do seem to have got the idea of writing your name on the ticket in most cases now which works very well.

There's an argument that by personalising you're less likely to be looking to sell on ebay so some people actually prefer to do it but I appreciate not everyone wants that but apreciate it's not to everyones taste.

Had a pretty good day today. Got there quite early (earlier than expected) at about 9:30. Managed to get low virtual queue tickets for everyone I wanted to meet and had met them all by lunch time.

David Blue was my favourite guest of the day, very friendly and chatty and we talked a bit about my T-shirt (which is one he wears in SGU).

The other guests I met, Gates McFadden, LeVar Burton and Nicole de Boer were nice but weren't really that chatty. Nicole doesn't seem to have aged a day since DS9 either ;)

Had quite a long chat to a man (and his partner) carrying around a predator mask (not the one dressed in a predator costume). He's actually sculpted a Predator head and made a mask from it, as well as the rest of the predator costume, very talented man indeed. If you're reading this, hello :D

A couple of Stargate fans stopped me to ask me about my t-shirt too which was different :P But a nice chat too, again if you're reading this, hello

My day ended with me buying a really nice Alien figure from the dealers room, then home time :(

Wow, been to Collectormania once, a few years back but this was the first time at this venue. I came up with my daughter, she was dressed as Cleopatra River Song and I was the Jedi Chef. When we arrived at 9am, we found the queue was quite short, met a lovely woman from Cardiff (thank you for letting Kirstin pose with the blue envelope, please let us see the photo of AK posing with it) and once the doors opened we were through and handed a VQ ticket for Alex Kingston: likety split. Once we had them, we headed over to get photoshoot tickets, a dilemma, which queue to join? The short one for card payments or the long one for cash was a no brainer and once again you made it pleasurable by being very quick and pleasant customer service. We got two and I wish I got more as I could have Jedi Cheffed her but had very little time to organise a spare hat and everything else.

I apologise to everyone I ran over with my suitcase, will put L plates on it next time, I am a rubbish driver....

Things I enjoyed about Sunday were:

The lady who came up and asked for a photo the minute I put my chef hat on! Wow, I was surprised!

Everyone dressed as a Dr Who character. "Steven" 10th Doctor and Gwen for hanging out with us. Little Roman Rory, (you are so cute) both Idris/Tardis, all the River Songs.

Huge thank you to everybody who turned up at 4pm and their amazing costumes and props. Special mentions for the very surprising Scarecrow, very tall doctor in the orange space suit and baby 10th Doctor and his parents Awww...

The DS9 family, I got in such a tizzy, I recognised Worf and Dax but then what do the hybrid children get called, Trillgons? Krillions? I wish I had asked for a group photo of you all. Wow, amazing costumes and make-up.

The two bajoran ladies I saw strolling around.

Plentiful seating! LOL

Fantastic stalls selling all sorts of things, really big choice and some amazing bargains.

Kirstin loving every minute of the day, she was over the moon that Alex Kingston said hello to her whilst she was in the queue for the photo. Then Alex posed for two photos with her and held the Spoilers book.

I was randomly getting shouted at, I could hear "Jedi Chef!" now and again. Unfortunately I am partial hearing so please next time, come up and touch my arm or something and talk to me.

The showmaster crew, the two guys I know already, (love you guys, you know who you are) and the random big guy who came up to talk, the lady in the empty signing area, you are all so friendly.

I liked the fact that Macdonalds and KFC were just over the parking lot, very handy.

The free bus was good, confusion over where to stand though, surely a crew member to steward that area or a sign would have been helpful. All the ladies in the info booth just waved their hands and said "out there", some people were at the gate and some were at KFC, and the bus stopped near KFC. Managed to run over and catch it in time and there were still some empty seats!

The stadiummk is not an ideal venue but it worked a lot better than the "other event", less queueing, less noise, more imaginative costumes and much better guests, I did make one sarky comment when I was trying to leave the AK signing booth and the organisers were "conferencing", fair enough but please don't block the exit. It was silly, me trying to push my way through must have been annoying for you as well so it would have made more sense for you not to block the exit!

Thank you Jason and Showmaster Team for an amazing day.

I would love to if I knew what you looked like! :-)

But unless you show us, I'm rather hesitant to start touching everyone I see on the arm just in case one of them is you. ;-)

Well if that's the costume you always wear then fair enough. But that hadn't been made clear until now. :-)
