HPaddicted
SO happy Ian McKellen has been confirmed. I love the statement he made. (I wish Ian realised how much I detest Michael Gambon as Dumbledore..). The film wouldn't have been very enjoyable without Ian as Gandalf, he is Gandalf to me. Very please though

BeatrixKiddo88
Meh, no biggie. I'd rather the Misty Mountains didnt make the audience go 'Ooh it looks like Mt. Doom!' Somewhere different will work, its fine.

Middleman
I really hope that no one was hurt or any of the set were destroyed during the Earthquake they hd in Christchurch! I hope it was nowhere near any sets!!! Thoughts are with that Beautiful country of New Zealand at the moment!! The production is based on the north island, with the quake being on the south they're far enough out the way. Though with the scale of the disaster It's probably going to effect them somehow. HPaddicted
Ian McKellen arrived FIVE WEEKS EARLY to the set of the Hobbit. No'one told him that the schedule was delayed due to Peter Jackson's operation. He doesn't seem to happy and I wouldn't be either if I had flown all the way to New Zealand! He blogged about it: “A wizard is never late: but I hadn't intended last Thursday to arrive in Wellington for The Hobbit filming, five weeks early. Filming was to start at the end of February 2011. I curtailed a holiday in India to make sure I would be on time. Then, while I was away, Peter Jackson had his stomach operation. The insurance company has insisted on five weeks recuperation. Which is why, yet again, I’m here early.†
