pinkstarbuck Posted July 10, 2011 Share Posted July 10, 2011 i know its a long shot, as it will be heading towards the start of the season, but some NHL players (current or past roster) would be nice, Maybe Scott Stevens (new jersey devils), Mario Lemieux, Mark Messier or (no chance) Wayne Gretzky? Ice hockey is bigger than you may think in the UK, and its becoming even more popular with regular scheduled season games in Europe every year. I don`t think i`ve ever seen any hockey guests at an event, it`d be nice! If you announced Martin Brodeur (New jersey devils current goalkeeper) i think i`d faint! Outside of ice hockey, maybe i`m setting my sights too high but Amir Khan would be AWESOME, Lennox Lewis, Ian Wright, Freddie Ljungberg, or WWE stars such as Edge, i`m sure they`d be a huge crowd bringer! 18blue78 Posted July 16, 2011 Share Posted July 16, 2011 A few people have asked about US sport stars and I think a name like Michael Jordan, Joe Montana or Wayne Gretzky, if marketed correctly, would be hugely successful and justify the cost it would take to bring them over. For us sports nuts of a certain age one of these names would be like having a Karen Gillan or Patrick Stewart and very possibly just as successful.
