lukeowl
I think there is a real gap for SM and Autographica to exploit - Music. There really should be more of a representation for that medium of entertainment at events. I know that at the first Autographica I attended Pete Best was there. I'd like to see more rock legends incorporated into future events. So, how about the likes of; Phil May and Dick Taylor of The Pretty Things. Rod Argent of The Zombies Roger Waters Sir George Martin Johnny Echols of Love (has also worked with many greats - Hendrix, Little Richard, Miles Davis) I know that there is absolutely loads of scope to work with, but a lot of these guys from the golden age of rock and pop aren't getting any younger and I do think that they would be popular at Autographica type of events - where film, science and military history is celebrated so well, yet music barely gets a look in. How about it SM/Dave? They'd make for great talks as well - I'm sure a lot of musicians from the peripheral acts of the day will have loads of great stories to tell about the like s of the Beatles and the Stones, and any other top acts they may have crossed paths with. I know it's unlikely we'll get some of the big, big stars - and I'm sure I've been overly optimistic in suggesting the likes of George Martin and Roger Waters, but I do think some musicians from that era would be up for doing an even like this. And I do think they would prove really popular. I'd be interested to hear others thoughts/suggestions on this - especially those of SM and Dave? Thanks. descartes
Turning attention to Shuttle astronauts, some who are no longer on active service and therefore theoretically available: Eileen Collins Pam Melroy Kathryn Sullivan Kathryn Thornton (signing at ASF Show in November) Bonnie Dunbar Rhea Seddon (signing at ASF Show in November) Bruce McCandless would be a welcome return astronaut. ...and Cosmonauts: Valentina Tereshkova Yelena Kondakova Svetlana Savitskaya Mikhail Tyurin Boris Volynov Valeri Tokarev Vladimir Shatalov and Helen Sharman would always be welcome for a return visit. Aldrin
As indicated elsewhere I'd like to see back Dick Gordon, Rusty Schweikart, Geno, Al Bean, Walt C, and then Ken Mattingly, Harrison Schmitt. But actually, ANY MGA astronaut is fine by me :) But then again Walt Cunningham and Ed Mitchell are the only ones alive from their particular missions so I'd give them first dibs. Yeah I saw that message from Sy, he'd be great! I'd like to see a genuine big star along the lines of Jane Russell/Lauren Bacall David Warner Can't think of any more I'll think of some more tomorrow! Count Fooku
I've noticed the Yesterday channel is re-showing the TV Drama series of Colditz at the moment. How about some guests from the TV series with some people who were imprisoned there during the war. You could add Guy Hamilton in to the mix as well.
