Just checked out meat grinder it is a very gorey film and does have a good story. Its great for all you gore fans.

 

 

much more story then i was expecting, this is a well made movie which keeps you interested, not just a gorefest though there is a bit of it

'Bedevilled'

 

'Bedevilled', a new Korean slasher. The film is about a troubled bank employee who returns to the isle of her youth only to find that her childhood friend has become the target of abusive villagers.

 

Synopsis

 

Hae-won (Ji Sung-won) is a beautiful single woman in her thirties who works at a bank in the Seoul city. She leads a busy life until she becomes a witness to an attempted murder case, and at the same time, things get complicated at work. When things get out of hand she is forced to take a vacation so she heads for ‘Moodo’, a small undeveloped island, where she had once visited to see her grandparents. And where she had befriended a girl named Bok-nam (Seo Young-hee) who stills writes to Hae-won asking her to visit despite the fact that Hae-won never bothered to reply.

 

Upon arriving at the island, Hae-won is shocked to see everyone treating Bok-nam like a slave. As practically the only young woman on the island, she is a plaything for all the men and a free laborer for the women. Sick of all the inhumane treatment, Bok-nam had tried to escape the island several times in the past but had failed each time. She begs Hae-won to help her escape the place, but Hae-won remains indifferent not wanting to be involved in complicated situations. When Bok-nam realizes that her own daughter will follow her footsteps, she tries to escape the island with her daughter. But her daughter gets killed in the process. And when she loses the only thing that had kept her going because of Hae-won’s negligence, Bok-nam takes a sickle in her hand for revenge.

Optimum Home Entertainment have announced the UK DVD and Blu-Ray releases of 'Bedevilled' for the 28th February

'Beach Creature'

 

 

The trailer has been released for 'Beach Creature', a new Indonesian creature feature from director Rizal Mantovani ('Kuldesak'). the film centres around a mysterious monster who appears on a beach and starts munching its way through nubile, Bikini clad 20 something’s.

 

Synopsis

 

Randy, Temmi, Denisa, and Josh are expecting to enjoy their holiday fun on the exclusive Virgin Beach. The location was recently bought by a young entrepreneur who intends to develop it into a tourist attraction. However, no one suspects that in one of the nearby villages a strange creature will emerge, which they call a Jenglot (a type of mysterious creature or vampire in Indonesian culture and mythology), that thirsts for blood. When the Jenglot escapes and gets back into the sea, it starts to hunt down anyone who pollutes the sanctity of the beach.

'Missing'

Cine Asia have announced the UK DVD release of 'Missing' for the 31st January, 2011. Based on a true story, the film centres around a girl who goes in search of her kidnapped brother, but instead of finding him she becomes the next victim and undergoes a terrifying ordeal.

 

Synopsis

 

The owner of the farm, Pan-gon, is a recluse and social outcast with a very dark secret. Jealous of Hyun-ah’s beauty and insulted by her disdainful treatment of him, he ruthlessly strangles Hong and imprisons Hyun-ah in the basement. Does he want to torture her, use her for sex, or is his agenda even darker? Meanwhile, Hyun-ah’s sister becomes concerned over her disappearance and contacts the police. A trail of evidence points toward the farm, but will they make it in time to save Hyun-ah from the whims of the unhinged maniac, or will Pan-gon’s vengeance be complete?

just watched Missing - very good Korean serial killer movie - brutal and realistic - well worth watching

'Tomie Unlimited'

 

 

The trailer has been released for 'Tomie Unlimited', the eighth film based on Junji Ito’s long-running manga series. Directed by Noboru Iguchi ('The Machine Girl'), the film stars Miu Nakamura as the titular Tomie, a seductive schoolgirl who causes men to fall in love with her and go completely insane.

 

Synopsis

 

Tsukiko (Moe Arai), who belongs to a photography club at high school, always feels inferior to her sister Tomie (Miu Nakamura). Tomie is very beautiful and popular with male students. But one day Tomie dies in an awful accident right under Tsukiko's nose. Since then Tsukiko suffers from a nightmare every night. One year passes and on dead Tomie's 18th birthday, someone knocks the door of Tsukiko's house. Unbelievably, it is Tomie. She's back. The father and the mother blindly welcome Tomie but only Tsukiko feels instinct fear. Tomie gradually reveals her true face only when she is with Tsukiko. Tsukiko's nightmare becomes true... and horrible days begin.

 

'Tomie Unlimited' opens across Japan on the 14th May, 2011.

White: The Melody Of The Curse'

 

 

The teaser trailer has been released for 'White: The Melody Of The Curse', a new Korean horror flick co-directed by Kim Gok and Kim Sun. The film centres around an all-girl pop group who start to experience strange goings on after they re-record a song found on a mysterious old videotape.

 

Synopsis

 

Girl group Pink Dolls, made up of the lead singers Jenny and A-rang, former backup dancer, Eun-ju and rapper, Shin-ji, are struggling to get their name out. In the new office the group’s agency moves into, Eun-ju finds an old videotape of an untitled music video. The song recorded on the video is dark and gloomy—but also mesmerizing. The group showcases the number and receives immensely positive feedback, their best ever. Excited, the Pink Dolls decide to release the number as their new single under the title “White†and begin a grueling practice regimen. It’s at that time strange things start happening to each member. Main vocalist Jenny passes out during a practice session. Young A-rang becomes hostile towards her close friend Shin-ji and suffers a bad reaction to a cosmetic. Shin-ji becomes very competitive and jealous, and is injured during a photo shoot. Believing the series of suspicious incidents is related to the music video, Eun-ju looks into the mystery behind it. Soon, she too, falls victim to the curse.

 

 

'White: The Melody Of The Curse' stars Ham Eun-jeong, Maydoni, Choi Ah-ra, Jin Se-yeon, Hwang Woo-seul-hye and Byeon Jeong-soo. It is scheduled for release across Korea on the 9th June, 2011.

'Don't Click'

 

 

The teaser trailer has been released for 'Don't Click', a new South Korean horror flick helmed by Kim Tae-kyeong ('Muoi: The Legend of a Portrait'). The film stars Park Bo-yeong and Kang Byeol as a pair of sisters who start to experience mysterious goings-on after watching an unidentified online video.

 

Synopsis

 

Jung-mi, who's been living alone with her elder sister since their parents left for the US, uploads UCC often in the hope of becoming famous. She believes that it's the easy way to make her dream of becoming an an anchorwoman come true. Jung-mi's sister, Se-hi thinks that this is useless and also dangerous but cannot stop her sister. When Jung-mi finds that a so-called "forbidden video" is centre of a lot of attention, she asks Se-hi's boyfriend, Joon-hyuk to use his special investigation team for cyber crimes to get her the file. Even though it's already forbidden, Joon-hyuk illegally downloads the video file from the closed internet site for Jung-mi. She clicks the file only to find out it contains one high school girl's wicked necromantic ritual. After watching the video, a series of strange incidents begin to happen to Jung-mi. Now, Se-hi has to find the way to save her only sister from the curse of the video.

 

'Don't Click' is due for release across South Korea in December 2011.

A movie staring Eunjung about KPOP idols performing a cursed song and dance routine... I can't think of way this wouldn't work.

'The House'

 

(will include chinese horror to this topic too)

 

The trailer has been released for 'The House' (AKA 'Purple House'), a new romantic horror flick from director Hang-Sang Poon. The film, which marks the movie debut of Fahrenheit member Jiro Wang, focuses around a rich girl and her fiancé who return home to claim some spooky inheritance.

 

'The House' co-stars Liya Tong, Yuyu Xiao, Kai Zhong and Michael Tong. It is due for release across China on the 23rd September, 2011.
