Anyone know where the website has gone?

It's up for me. Maybe it was just down time. It happens.

I still think they need to orginise and sex up the site a bit better. All the separate sections (shop, sites, forum) are a little frustrating.

What address are you using all I get is "Firefox can't find the server at www.collectormaniaglasgow.co.uk." and been getting that for a few days.

Same address.

Considering the broswers mentioned, and the time factor (down time every time you log on is a bit unfortunate) it's possibly a bigger issue. ISP or DNS issues or some other wonderful headache like that for the webmaster to slam his head against the wall with (dealt with DNS issues today, not pleasant).

I can view the site, but a quick test just tells me it's down. If theres any web people who pay attention - guys, do some diagnostics as it might be a widespread issue.

It's down here as well

Server not found

Firefox can't find the server at www.collectormaniaglasgow.co.uk.

* Check the address for typing errors such as

ww.example.com instead of

www.example.com

* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network

connection.

* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure

that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

It's just the glasgow site that's offline , all the others are ok here.

It's probably best (for the tech guys - if they're reading) to mention what ISP you're on, as well as broswer. If it's working for some and not for others it's one of the best ways to find the problem and may help with diagnostics.

It's working fine here on the latest Firefox and Safari from Virgin National and T-Mobile.

I had to do the same checks for a site recently and am doing the same for a blogging site that went online this week (http://thepicardmaneuver.com) and found out it's a DNS issue I'm working on. Could be the same problem here.

Just tried it again now, still no joy in accessing the glasgow page

I've tried both Firefox and IE8 , am on virgin cable ISP , have access to Sky broadband as well , and can not access the glasgow page via that ISP either.

Have emptied the browser cache as well , and still nothing.

Tada.

As it is up for even one person, it means that it isnt a problem with the site but either certain providers not reaching it or certain connections.

Hmmm, plot thickens.

I'm on AOL by the way. Dont think anyones said that yet.

Actually, it could well be.

As I've said - it's very likely a DNS issue, which does cause a conflict with ISP's, but thats usually down to the server not being configured properly. I'm having the same issue with one of my hosted sites (http://thepicardmaneuver.com - if you're having trouble with CMG, I'd bet you'll have trouble with TPM) - which I've passed onto my tech team as it's a bit beyond me (I build, I don't deal with anything tech-ish).

Checking here:

http://network-tools.com/default.asp?prog=...iaglasgow.co.uk

I'm getting the result 'bad destination'. Which is part of the ISP conflict... but it's a server issue. I don't know what SM uses for their sites... and as I said, I usually pass my stuff on - so I can't tell them how to fix it, only to start checking it out asap.

For those having problems - there is a temporary solution if you're desperate to see the site. Sign up with a free account at http://opendns.com - change your DNS settings (they have guides for every OS) and as soon as you've switched from your ISP DNS to theirs, it'll work.

Obviously you can't tell every customer to fiddle about with their machine before they can view the site, so it's not a long term fix.

I love TPM. Just the domain name... I can't believe no one had bought it before.

Hopefully the team at SM have better luck than I have so far. I've been sent messages telling me it's sorted. But when I test... it hasn't been.

I'd try and fix it myself, but I'd be scared to break something!
